"The sales part was a bit catchy. I was originally quoted a much higher rate, but after sharing a similar product and installation at a lower price, the gentleman from Summers called back and offer us a price with in $100 of the other quote and quicker service.
Installation was okay. The installers did not check to ensure the floor drain in our basement worked (it didn't) and created a large puddle in the basement, since our basement is not finished, it was not a big deal, but a little messy. A few hours after installation I turned on our bathroom sink and heard a loud "pop" from the basement. One of the welds on the piping had burst. Fortunately, my husband was able to turn off the water, to keep from flooding the basement. It took them a few hours before they were available to come out and fix the problem.

He showed up on time, didn't make me feel stupid for not knowing how to replace the filter, popped a new one in, tuned up and cleaned my unit and suggested some other routine maintenance that was overdue without pressuring me to do it now. Ultimately, I decided to have him clean my a/c coils while he was here since he had a little time before his next appointment. He showed up on time and called when he was on his way. "Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."

They built the shelves off-site to help with the project efficiency. They did a beautiful job. Not to mention, they are very good working with the many surprises that come with the terrain of a 1930's home where nothing is plumb. Everything had to be customized to fit properly. They worked tirelessly to ensure I was satisfied with all the details of the shelving unit, such as building lips on the shelving edges, down to the quarter round molding.
