"Long story short I was attempting to install a new vanity over the copper supply lines for a bathroom sink. I bent the copper pipe which caused it to begin leaking. It was a Sunday night at 5:30 pm. Dan showed up even quicker than he had estimated. He was prompt, courteous and professional. He fixed the leak quickly including making recommendations to replace the 30 year old shut-off valves, which he did at the same time as fixing the leak. He also noticed the outside shutoff valve was leaking and was able to tighten the valve so that it would no longer leak. He made it quick and painless. He tried to make the higher than normal (weekend night) service fee worth the call out for us. Although it was a little more expensive because it was a weekend night, it was nice to know it had been fixed and we could turn the water on again. It was a great experience compared to our previous horrible experiences we had with Mister Quik."

"It went extremely well. The technician was professional and thorough. He spend at least 30 minutes with me reviewing the current configuration to ensure that the replacement water heater would meet our needs. We switched from a tank water heater to a tankless water heater and couldn't be happier. The tech did a great job with the installation and left the area clean and organized."

"After unsuccessfully attempting to install a lower-level toilet SEVERAL times, the final straw was an overflow that ended up with a plumber telling us it was more than just a simple plumbing issue: We had an external sewer line issue. This was the 2nd time this has happened in two years where roots had "disrupted" the old clay sewer pipes in the front yard. The plumber recommended English Excavating, and we called them that night (New Year's Day). We set up an appointment, and Mick English came out the next day to confirm our worst fears: we needed a whole new sewer line after removing the roots at issue. The old, outdated clay pipe needed to replaced with much more updated and durable PVC piping at a cost of $2,500, which Mick knocked down to an even $2,000, since he couldn't get back until the following week and we also had the Angie's List coupon (5% off). I knew this was a great price, even though we had to go without water for a while. When the crew came out, they encountered an issue with finding where the roots were busting in the pipe. They had a relationship with the plumber we used, so they not only called them, but had them come back out to explain where to find the issue. In the end, ALL the work was still completed within one day, and Mick even came back out later to fix the mound of dirt that resulted from the excavating. Mick was my main contact, and he has been so helpful. We are in the process of putting the house on the market to sell, so Mick understood the need to make the front yard presentable. Even though this was a huge, unexpected expense, Mick and English Excavating made it as easy as possible!

"We are selling our home and need a leaky valve fixed on our main water valve fixed. I was contacted by ACME, had an appointment scheduled, and had a technician out to my home all in the same day, which was very appreciated since we are on a strict timeline with selling our home. The technician was helpful and honest. He gave us the estimate for repairs, as well as the worst case scenario estimate in case anything more serious happened during the repair. The pricing was reasonable, and the speed in having a technician out can't be beat."

"He, himself, arrived at our scheduled time and was professional and informative from the get-go. He tested our water and confirmed it was pretty awful, which of course, we already knew.. we just didn't know how bad. He made some suggestions and we were completely sold on his advice, confidence, suggestions and knowledge. This company is not a high pressure sales company.. in fact, there are no sales tactics at all and they're proud to share they do not have commissioned sales people at all. They're confident they can offer a product and service that pretty much sells itself. We purchased a replacement for our water softener with a unit that really tackles well water issues with a vengeance. We also purchased a reverse osmosis system for our kitchen sink and ice maker. One tech arrived a week later and replaced the softener with the new magical one. Another tech arrived to help with the completion and installation of the osmosis system. They did a great job, answered lots of questions and advised that we'd see instant results in the cold water and once the hot water tank was empty with existing water, instant results there too... in maybe 5 days. It only took 4!! WE LOVE OUR WATER and no longer hold our noses when showering or brushing our teeth. We no longer race out to buy bags of ice when company is on the way and we can actually drink water from the filter water from the kitchen sink for the first time ever. Never would we do that before!! What a difference! We're more than pleased and working with this company was worth every penny. Don't hesitate to call on them for better water. They know what they're talking about."

"Quickly after purchasing Angie's List deal, the owner called to schedule an appointment, which was a few days later. The installer showed up on time and quickly assessed the situation of my current heater and it's location. Due to my water softener partially in the way of the heater, he decided to remove the door to the closet instead of moving the softener, which saved him time and me money. After checking the dimensions, he was able to reuse my old heater stand, which I also appreciated. With the new water heater designs, he had to do some slight modifications to the copper lines to the house for proper fitment. After making sure there were no leaks, he reinstalled the door and checked to make sure it operated correctly. Overall, he did exactly as he said he'd do in the time allotted for the appointment. I will certainly call Simply Water again for any plumbing needs."

FAQs for water main install, replace or repair projects in Mccordsville, IN

If you notice puddles or standing water in your yard, a sudden drop in water pressure, cracks forming in your foundation, frequent clogs in your plumbing fixtures, or water that looks or smells unusual, you might have a leak in your main water line. These signs mean it's time to call a professional to evaluate the issue and prevent further damage.

A professional water main inspection is a comprehensive evaluation performed by a licensed plumber who checks every section of your plumbing system. The inspection costs $165 and uses advanced diagnostic techniques to identify hidden leaks or wear. This service clarifies the exact condition of your water main, enabling precise repairs that prevent future damage and ensure the overall health of your plumbing system.

Protect your water main by scheduling a cleaning and inspection every two to five years. The average cost of a sewer line cleaning is $400. It’s also important to never dig in your yard without first calling the dig line (811) to ensure you don't accidentally hit the water or sewer lines. Watch for soil erosion, low water pressure, or wet spots in your yard, and take immediate action if you suspect a leak. Remember, the longer you leave it, the worse the problem gets and the more costly it is to fix.

When properly maintained, your water main is engineered to remain functional for 50 years or longer. A durable water service in excellent condition should consistently perform without major issues for half a century. In contrast, metal pipes exposed to acidic soil corrode faster, whereas modern plastic pipes resist corrosion and function for decades beyond metal alternatives. Regular maintenance and inspections are essential for confirming your system’s longevity.

No, homeowners insurance does not cover the cost to repair a water main. Insurers fund only sudden, unforeseen events like a burst pipe and exclude gradual issues or normal wear and tear. Damage resulting from leaks, such as mold remediation or property claims, is not covered. It is essential to contact your insurance provider immediately to confirm your policy’s details and any potential adjustments needed.
