"I can recommend DT Air Conditioning & Heating wholeheartedly. Dana and his team did an amazing and quick (single day) job of swapping out my old 2 ton and 4 ton ACs, furnaces and some additional duct work. His price was the best I encountered by far, which honestly gave me pause, but fear not... you are in good hands. DT is a member of the Oncor Efficiency Incentive program which provides incentives to encourage upgrading to higher efficiency units - a portion of this rebate gets passed onto you which helps with the price (along with Carrier rebates). The installation job looks fantastic including support bars, not just straps, to insure the furnaces do not sag over time. As the electronic variable speed motors on these higher efficiency units are expensive to replace, I would recommend surge suppressors on inside and outside units. They are cheap and provide a little peace of mind since surges are not covered by manufacturer warranties."

"I originally asked Stacey for a quote last March, when I had to have some pipework done under the house and I thought I might be able to roll them in together and save some money. That didn't work out, so I had to put off the renovation. I recently had a hip replaced and am about to have the other replaced and it's very difficult to manage showers with the old setup. I decided to ask Stacey if he was available although it was very short notice. (I think he fit me in within less than three weeks.) Stacey's quote was $7500 and he stayed with this same price although six months had passed. The price included demo, providing and installing hardie board, laying the shower floor, building the shower frame, building a chair-height bench, providing and installing a new toilet and vanity, providing and installing a new light/fan/heat combination, installing miscellaneous bathroom hardware (that I provided - towel rack and toilet paper holder), installing a large mirror (that I provided) to replace the medicine cabinet, providing and installing new floor tile, new shower floor and wall tile including an accent tile, providing and installing new shower fixtures, providing and installed a new glass shower door, providing paint and painting everything that wasn't tiled including the linen closet. (I think that's everything!) The work took just shy of seven days. In everything, Stacey went above and beyond. (I was surprised that he worked with the crew and worked very hard.) Most of all, he managed my expectations very well. I was concerned about the shower door because the only kind I could remember seeing were the frameless, hinged style, and the sliding door he chose had a frame at the top and bottom (not in the middle). At first I really wanted those entirely frameless doors, but thank God he talked me down. In such a small bathroom, they would have been a nightmare. The towel rack that I ordered from that big online retailer arrived with the end open, and Stacey discovered that one of the screws was missing (and the hole stripped), so I'm guessing this item had actually been returned and then re-sent to me. Stacey did a workaround and it looks beautiful. He also was very helpful in guiding me with choices. There are so many choices out there in tiles and paint colors and EVERYTHING that I nearly shut down just trying to pick out accent tile. He provided paint cards so I could choose colors. Finally, he knew I had some blinds in my front window that I had installed improperly and now (recovering from the surgery) am not able to fix myself. He installed these for me as well! I just really couldn't be happier with the work. I highly recommend Calahan Construction. FYI, I asked Stacey if he does floor tile for the rest of the house (he does) and I am looking forward to working with him again on this project in the coming months."

"We hired Collin Creek Duct Cleaning to clean the air ducts of our recently purchased home. The prior owners had several cats, and the airs ducts were full of mounds of cat hair and other allergens.  I am highly allergic to cat dander and dust mites, so a thorough air duct cleaning became a high priority.
From the very first telephone call, Collin Creek Duct Cleaning answered all of our questions, explained each step of the cleaning process, and provided an accurate cost estimate for the job.  A very personable and professional team showed up on time and worked quickly and efficiently.  I can tell a real difference in the air quality since the system has been cleaned.
A day or two after the vent cleaning, I learned they had a coupon for a complimentary dryer vent cleaning with air duct cleaning service.  The team scheduled a visit and returned to our home to perform a dryer vent cleaning per their special.  Excellent customer service.
We highly recommend their service and will absolutely hire them again.

"Installation was great. The service guys were excellent. The salesperson left out a few important details such as the discounts we were able to eventually get and the communication between the service guys and the salesperson was lacking."

"We wanted a complete system to replace our aging one.  We knew we wanted a Trane system, and wanted a Specialist that could install, maintain and service the system.  After several proposals, it was clear that King Air could meet our needs and expectations.  The salesman listened to our concerns, surveyed our home, and was able to recommend the right type of
system for us.  He gave us several options, and never pushed us into buying a higher priced unit.  Financing was also a big consideration, and he mentioned that we qualified for a ?special financing offer? through Trane.  The day of installation, the crew
arrived on time, were professional, knowledgeable, detailed oriented, and explained everything to us.  Afterward, they did a walk through with us and gave us information on filter replacements, thermostat settings, etc. Their Premium Installation included a 29 point quality assurance checklist to guarantee the system was installed correctly and that we were completely satisfied.  We highly recommend King Air for any of your heating and cooling needs.

"Electrician on Call was offering a special to install a ceiling fan for 76.50. It was a little difficult to get a representative to answer the phone to schedule the appointment.  However, once I did the service was well and went very smoothly.  They offered to perform the services the same day or even the next morning.  We elected to have the services performed the next morning.  Our outdoor ceiling fan on the cover patio was about 6 years old and really rusty.  We purchased a new outdoor ceiling fan from Lowes.  New, in the box the electician that came out to our home assembled and replaced the new fan with the old fan that had been hanging.  It took them approximently 1 hour. The elcetrican was very knowledgable and friendly.  We are very pleased with the installation and service that we received.  We even asked he electician to provide us a quote for other electrical services that we wanted to get done around the house.  He provided us wih a rough estimate and followed up with an actual quote within 48 hours.  I would highly recommend using this company."

"Very well, communication and explanation of why it was important to install the piece was appreciated. My philosophy is preventative maintenance and not waiting for something to break down before doing something about it. This was the main reason for the installation. I am happy with the service overall."

FAQs for swamp cooler installation and replacement projects in Melissa, TX

Swamp coolers are quite energy-efficient, using only 15% to 35% of the electricity that traditional central air conditioning units consume. This can lead to significant savings on your energy bills. However, keep in mind that swamp coolers require water to operate and may not cool your home as effectively in extremely hot or humid conditions. When considering overall efficiency, it is essential to weigh both electricity and water usage, as well as the cooling needs specific to your local climate.

Evaporative coolers only work in dry climates because they cool by moistening the air. If the air is already moist, this will have little to no cooling effect. Central AC is a better choice if you live in a humid climate, such as the Midwest, eastern, or western coastal regions.

To install a swamp cooler on a roof, a local HVAC specialist will first find and cut a spot free of wiring and obstructions. They’ll then install metal bracing, legs, brackets, the ceiling duct register, ductwork, power, and thermostat wires. Once installed, they’ll seal all openings, attach duct connections, and install a thermostat. Before leaving, they’ll run cool water piping to the unit and inspect all the connections.

The cost to repair your swamp cooler ranges from $50 to $600, depending on the issue, whether new parts are needed, and the chosen repair service. Depending on the type of pad your system uses, you will need to change out the pads every one to three years for proper operation. When budgeting for the cost to repair a window unit, expect to pay around $230.

The U.S. Department of Energy states that swamp coolers can cool a single room by five to 15 degrees Fahrenheit. However, this largely depends on the size and installation method of the evaporative cooler. You can only achieve these results in a dry climate, such as the American South, as it’s easier to cool rooms in humid environments with central air.

Swamp cooler water usage varies depending on the size of the unit. Smaller evaporative units may use one gallon per hour, while much larger units could use up to 15 gallons of water per hour. Most homeowners can expect their unit to use between seven and 10 gallons of water per hour of usage.
