"Michael was quick to respond, was able to assess the issue, propose a solution and do the work on the spot. Fair pricing, good work. He and his partner installed a new external hose bibb in a difficult to access spot. They had to pull up carpet and cut into the sub-flooring to access the 12 inch clearing to remove broken pipe pieces from the inside, but they did a great job and put everything back the way it was. Works as expected. Would recommend."

"We had a little issue - did not ask a lot of questions or do a visual inspection before snaking our shower drain - turns out we should not have done that due to this drum trap we had. Long story short ending up breaking a pipe - but it was all so old we needed to get it replaced anyway. I had to fight for what I thought was right, but at the end of the day they took care of the price and the situation. Overall this company is probably too expensive for their quality of services, but they were very kind and worked hard to fix this situation."

"Great company! They came out when they said they were going to, the work was carried out smoothly and without issues. The installer was very polite and conscientious. The pricing was not inexpensive, but it rarely is for a licensed, bonded, insured company using professional grade materials (not the cheap big box store cabling). These guys did the work right and when you re dealing with something as dangerous as natural gas you can t afford a company that makes mistakes. All in all, my gas heater works wonders and I m very pleased with the work. For future work, they ll be on my short list of contractors to call. Thanks TMS!"

"A whole team of people came from Dutch Oil to remove my old boiler and install the new one. I expected it to take the whole day, but they were finished and the unit tested by mid-day. All of the new plumbing was installed in a clean and organized fashion, and they were happy to answer all the questions I threw at them. They took the time to make sure the hot water temperature was set just right, and cleaned up the area before leaving. Since the boiler was installed, the burner began leaking oil, and they responded immediately and replaced the burner the same day. I am happy with the service from Dutch Oil and feel that they take care of their customers."

"Just wanted to give a shout out to Advance Plumbing and Heating in Newington. They recently completed a gas conversion at my house and I was very impressed. When Dave come out to provide me a detailed estimate, he was able to answer all my questions on the spot and also provided other informative information. Nicole in the office guided me through the next steps, the paperwork, dates for the install and she was so pleasant to work with. Beyond impressed with Devon and his team for the actual install and removal of old equipment. They were all so nice, explained everything along the way, cleaned up everything like they were never there. Also impressed that the owner Michael stopped by which I find so important. If anyone is thinking about a gas conversion, I highly recommend Advance Plumbing and Heating."

"We were very pleased with Nutmeg.  They did not charge anything because they tried to fix it in September, so this one was free of charge.  They installed a new gas boiler for us and when the heat would not come on a year later they did not know the reason. They replaced a part and thought it could have been an air bubble. They were good about trying to track the problem down."

Installed a gas line for my new Gas Range, installed it, and gave me an on the spot quote to install the new Microwave that was a bargain. They did a great job! I would absolutely hire them again. Good guys who got the job done well."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Middletown, CT

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
