"Excellent job. Done in one day even after removing existing tub and shower. New wall surround and decking around tub installed. Very professional, meticulous in their work, and cleaned up the area very well when finished. I highly recommend Five Star Bath and will no doubt use them in a future remodel."

"We initially were in contact with Mad City to replace our tub and shower surround but decided to hold off on that. We ended up working with Mad City to replace our front bay window, sliding patio door and a kitchen in the window and they were great. The quoting process was very easy and they worked with us on what we could afford to have done at this time. The delivery was as expected as far as timeframe. The installation exceeded our expectations! The install crew was very quick and respectful to our home and cleaned up everything before they left. There were two latches missing during delivery/install but they were in stock the following week and they sent a guy out to install. We would recommend at least talking with Mad City about your window or bath needs."

"Pleasant voice when I called about leaking shower door; helpful discussion of whether I needed a service call at my home or whether I could do it myself. I decided I needed a service call. Staff made 2 visits: first one assessed what needed to be done and  got door adjusted. Second visit 4 days later repaired the fixed panel of glass. All workers were friendly and professional. Results are good: no leaking and both glass panels line up properly.

"Sky was awesome! He answered my email within 10 minutes. Provided quote over text, offered great quote. Scheduled work the next day. Sky arrived on time, started right away on installing the new toilet. Started replacing my bathroom fan and told me I bought the wrong size. He said don’t worry I’ll go and get the right sized one. Wow! What service as I was working from home. He texted me a picture of a fan with a light and gave him a hands up. Got back to my place and seems like in no time the fan was in! He saw that I had not caulked the floor area and offered to do it. No extra charge. Sky says he does all kinds of repairs! I told him I need to make a list and get a quote. He was very friendly and definitely knew what he was doing! Need any work done, call or text Sky! Went above and beyond in my opinion with far pricing!"

"We were impressed with Plumbline from the start. Before bidding on the project, Roger brought in a plumber and an electrician to make sure that our plans for our 1921 house were possible and affordable. He and his team offered great advice as we worked out design and construction details. They respected our opinions and ideas, but weren't afraid to offer alternatives based on their deep knowledge and decades of experience. We did a complete remodel--down to the studs. Plumbline did the demo then put everything back together. Roger did an impressive job of managing the project, even as COVID-related supply-chain issues presented daily challenges. Plumbline changed the size of both windows, including adding a bay in one opening. They installed new doors and molding throughout. They coordinated installation of new cabinets, counters, floor, and appliances. They built two new closets. They rewired and installed new lighting. While they were at it, they also did a minor bathroom remodel, including installing new tile, sink, and other fixtures. They kept the dust and mess to a minimum, and made sure that the rest of our house remained livable. It truly felt like each and every member of the team was treating our home as they would their own. The best thing about Plumbline? Roger is an absolutely great guy. He responded to our many calls and texts quickly, he kept us updated on schedule changes and delays, and he was never, ever too busy to sit and review plans with us and answer our questions. He's smart, insightful, and a true professional. We plan to hire him for future projects, and we won't hesitate to recommend him to our family and friends."

"A property that I recently purchased needed a complete re-do in the mechanical room, which had no place for water to go if the worst occurred.  Another Angie’s List firm helped put together a plan that water proofed the floor by building the equivalent of a tiled shower floor with cement board, Red Guard, and porcelain tile.  It included a new floor drain as well, which the room did not previously have. Because I was under a time constraint, the tile work was sub-contracted with Brian Geurts of Brian’s Whatever, LLC.  I believe Brian used to be on the other company’s team and is now doing independent trim, ceramic tile, sheetrock, backsplash, bath, kitchen, and basement remodeling.  He also apparently does the tradeshow display setups for a local tile company.  I discovered that he has a lot of remodeling experience. Brian did a wonderful job waterproofing and tiling the mechanical room floor.  He even created a hinged trap door in the tile floor that gives me access into the crawl space.  He set it up so once I’m done with the remodeling project, I can add a bead of silicon to complete the waterproofing seal on the door access.  He even volunteered to come out and do it himself if I need it. Brian was very professional and offered up ideas that I had not thought about.  He even took a weekend of his own time to get the job done.  You don’t see that everyday.  His work looks great and he pays attention to the detail. Thanks, Brian.  "

"It went very well. I have used Cady several times and they always do good work at reasonable rates. Their time estimates are pretty good, and their person doing the job typically works pretty hard to keep to their estimated timing for each job. They did a very nice job on this trip installing a new exterior door, and some new siding that needed replacement on the building. I own a few rental properties in the area, and they have done nice work on several of the properties I own."

"I am so very happy with my new bathroom and linen closet thanks to Tim and Colton from Handyman Connection! My bathroom had a leak that was not visible (had been leaking for some time). The floor and walls were heavily damaged. The work to be done was a complete remodel and repair of the bathroom and an update to the linen closet. The bathroom had to be gutted to put in a new floor and walls (there was mold in the walls). My contractor, Tim, always stressed my safety first. He remediated the mold and removed the terribly damaged walls and floor. He always made me comfortable that I wasn’t in danger of getting ill from the damage in the bathroom, making sure that the issues were handled immediately. During the remodel of the bathroom and linen closet, Tim and his apprentice Colton prepared the areas including laying down sheeting to make sure the floors in my house were not damaged or made dirty. I support the process of apprenticeship for companies to grow experience by hands on learning and am happy that Handyman Connection does this. Tim’s vast experience and his patience in explaining not only what had to be done and how to do it but also why it was being done make him a great teacher and Colton has an innate skill and learns quickly. When they finished for the day, they wrapped up everything and made sure the house was clean and in order. I had part of the garage ready for the replacement tub, vanity, shower/tub surround, etc. Tim always asked if he could keep items in the garage before leaving anything – I expected remodeling tools, equipment and product would be in the garage, but Tim always asked. Tim got it quickly that I liked more of a heads up when they were coming to work on my house, so even though I got the email that they were coming, Tim would text me to give me an hour notice that they were coming. And they were always at my house at the hour. The bathroom floor is now rock solid (before it was spongy, I didn’t realize how bad it was because I had lived with it so long). The tub and surrounds are much safer and attractive than the old tub and tiles. We collaborated on the new fixtures and in addition to replacing the tub, window, vanity, lighting, and other fixtures, I also got items that I hadn’t had before – a medicine cabinet and ceiling vent. The mirror was repainted to match the vanity. The walls were repaired and have clean lines, were painted, the popcorn ceiling is now smooth. The linen closet is so wonderful! It used to have unfinished particle board shelves that bowed in the middle. Tim created new shelving that has finished edges that look so upscale! The closet got a new floor, painted and a new access panel into the bathtub hardware. My bathroom is amazing! First and most importantly, Tim made it safe removing the mold and replacing the damaged floor and walls. Second, Tim and Colton made it functional. I don’t worry about the electricity or plumbing (no leaks now!). Third, Tim and Colton made it beautiful. It looks like it was pulled from a magazine it is so beautiful. Not only the repairs, installations, updating but beautiful finishing touches on the baseboards, window, and walls have elevated the beauty of my bathroom. Throughout the process, they were professional, respectful, always explaining where they were in the process and including me. It was great to see the progress every day. It takes more than just ability to get results this wonderful. It takes caring and commitment to your customer. I appreciate and value the experience that I received from Handyman Connection and am looking forward to the next project (remodeling living room, bedroom, front entry) which has already been estimated and soon to be scheduled! I highly recommend Handyman Connection."

FAQs for bathtub liner or shower surround installation and replacement projects in Minneapolis, MN

A bathtub liner is a custom, one-piece shell that slips over your existing tub to hide cracks, stains, and chips. Most are molded from tough acrylic or PVC and can include a matching wall surround for a complete facelift. When a pro bonds the liner in place, you get a watertight seal, a fresh look, and an added layer of safety—all without tearing out the old tub.

After a tech measures your tub and orders a made-to-fit shell, installation takes a day. The installer cleans the surface, applies industrial-grade adhesive, and positions the liner in place. They trim the edges, tighten the drain, and run a smooth bead of silicone caulk to lock out moisture. A quick plumbing check wraps things up, leaving you with a ready-to-use tub by the next morning.

You can pick preset sizes or order a liner molded to your tub’s exact shape, then choose from dozens of colors, patterns, and finishes to match—or refresh—your bathroom. A pro trims and fits the shell on-site, so every contour lines up and accessories like grab bars or shelving land exactly where you want them.

If the liner’s material accepts a fresh coating, a professional can sand it, apply epoxy, and restore the shine in six hours for $480. Swapping in a brand-new liner runs $800 to $1,000 and takes a day or less. Refinishing is the wallet-friendly route when the shell is structurally sound, but it won’t last as long as starting over with new acrylic.

Most liners last three to five years. High-quality acrylic, a snug professional fit, and routine cleaning help you reach the upper end of that range. If moisture seeps behind the shell, mold and odors can shorten its life, so keep an eye out for loose caulk or soft spots and call a professional if you spot trouble early.
