"I had a brand new heat pump system installed in April 2023. They sent subcontractors to install it who were very unprofessional and they left bare wires hanging out of the machine and it did not look like it was installed correctly. It stopped working completely 4 times in 5 months, the last time was on October 10, service tech said, “I really don’t agree with the way they installed it “ he said the wires were barely connected so it kept losing power. He got it working again and left. Two weeks ago it got cold and we turned the system to heat for the very first time. It blew cold air. We made ANOTHER service call. The technician said that a switch had “gone bad” because, “they wear out” we explained that we have never used the heat even once, so how could the switch be worn out. Then they advised they had to order a part. Over a week later the part came in and they returned and that still didn’t fix. Now they say the compressor has, “gone bad” and when we reiterated that we have never even used it so how is it worn out they answered, “they just go bad sometimes” we still don’t have heat, they say they have to order more parts. We asked them to look over the whole system because we don’t think it is installed right and I am genuinely concerned that it is a fire hazard and they looked at it, put electrical tape on some hanging wires and left. We have had to take SIX days off work so far and buy space heaters and we are no closer to having a working system. This unit is less then SIX MONTHS OLD. At this point I have no choice but to pursue legal action. This whole experience has been terrible and has cost me hundreds in missed time at work and I’m still paying for a system that does not work."

"This has been a process of almost 2 years and I have waited until now to leave a negative review. My husband and I purchased a complete gut job of a home in July of 2021. The first thing on our list to fix was our beautiful brick fireplace on our main floor and basement floor. We designed the entire layout of our main floor around this fireplace in hopes that it would be a gathering place for our friends and family for years to come. We planned to use our fireplace as a big part of heating our home during the winter months. We were willing to take a very large part of our budget and make sure that this was in perfect working order. Waylon was contracted to get it in complete working order. Waylon came out and said that he completed the work and that we were good to go to use our fireplace without any issues. When the work was completed it was still summertime and extremely hot, so we took him at his word and paid him the entire invoice of $10,000. I normally wouldn't list out prices on a review, but that is a huge investment for my family. Waylon was great to work with... initially. Once we finally were able to move into the home in December we were so excited to use our fireplace. We got our first big fire going on Christmas Eve and were so disappointed because the amount of smoke that was coming into our house was completely unacceptable. We at the time had a newborn daughter and I didn't feel comfortable burning in the fireplace because of all the smoke. We waited until the new year and started trying to get a hold of Waylon, only to find out that he had changed all his numbers. After a lot of digging we were able to find a personal number for him that he or his wife had reached out to us on and finally were able to get in touch with him. This is getting long, so I will break it down to this... Waylon was almost impossible to get to come back out. He finally came and inspected the fireplace in July of 2022 and promised that he would be in touch with my husband to get the fireplace in working order. We never heard anything back, and after reaching out to him several times he came back in November and worked on the fireplace again. He said that there were parts that he needed to order to complete it, but we were good to go to burn for the upcoming holidays. Again, we had to reach out to him multiple times to find out when he was going to come back and finish the work. We were left for 3 months without a flue on our fireplace. Finally in March he came back out and said that the work was completed. We have had one fire since. The smoke was finally not an issue, but we were left with a terrible lingering smell of smoke for weeks after the last fire. My husband climbed up to inspect for himself and found that the vent cap at the top was not secured or screwed down at all. Air was still drafting through even though our flue was closed on the inside causing the awful smell. We reached out to Waylon and were basically told that he wasn't liable for anything because the work was originally done from a company that is no longer in business. He said that he gave us all kinds of freebies along the way and that he doesn't owe us anything. I'm not sure what freebies he gave us. We contracted him at a rate of $10,000 to get both fireplaces in working order and they're still not. In the grand scheme of this nightmare, this seems so small to even mention, but when he and his crew would show up to do work they were never here at the time they said they would be, they always left a mess (dirty/ smudged fingerprints on our brand new white paint), damaged the paint on the brick of the fire place, left trash in our yard... Waylon, we are very disappointed in the work that was done. We talked faith with you many times and tried to give you many chances to complete the work that you said you would. I would love nothing more than to remove this poor review if you would come finish. $10,000 is a huge amount of money for our family that we were glad to pay to a small business to have a working fireplace, but that hasn't panned out."

"I contacted this company and they claimed not to be on Angie's list but I went ahead and asked for a quote. I think I may have paid to much money because they sub contracted the job. The guys who came out to to the work were great and I added a review for their company so that is why I marked this review down in price and overall."

"Used this company to pump out my septic tank, came out and pretty much charged me $1400 to not do a job at all.... withing 2 days of "pumping my tank clean" the tank was back full and looked like it never was emptied. I had 2 other people look at it and they also said it wasn't pumped emptied, nor was my filter changed or cleaned... called 3 times to fix the issue and asked for the boss or manager to call me but he never did. Doug (my tech) finally called me to try and fix the issue but it just seemed as if they wanted to just pacify the problem like it was just how it works when 2 other people told me it wasn't. When they seen I put a complaint on the BBB site they called me and threatened me to take down the complaint or they weren't coming back out to clean the filter THAT THEY DIDNT DO TO BEGIN WITH!!!!!!!! This company has no morals nor do they care about their customers! They are out to just screw people out of their hard earned money. DONT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU KNOW WHATS GOOD FOR YOU!!!"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Mount Airy, GA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
