"I would highly recommend slats & pleats! We had shutters installed and their work is absolutely stunning! Paul is the nicest guy who is very knowledgeable, professional, and fairly priced --the workers are great too! I can't wait to have them put shutters on the rest of my windows! Highly recommend! Thank you Paul!"

"To start--Kristine and Steve are probably two of the nicest people on the planet, and they certainly know their window treatments. I purchased a Big Deal with the hope of installing Hunter Douglas silhouette blinds in my master bedroom. Ended up using the Big Deal for less expensive Hunter Douglas blinds in my bathroom because the silhouette price was so expensive. Kristine suggested that I purchase less expensive HD blinds (Nantucket?) for my bedroom--almost did so but then decided to get another estimate for the Silhouettes. The second estimate was so much lower ($1800) that I ended up getting a third, which was also substantially lower than Window Works. Though I'm sure Kristine and Steve would have done a great job, the price difference was too great (they're the same HD blinds) and the other companies were also A-rated. I would not use them again for HD blinds, but would for other types of window treatments (i.e., drapes) with the hope that those prices are more reasonable. (Note $920 cost is for bathroom blinds. The estimate for the master bedroom was $7100)"

"Michelle Gonella is personable, knows the pros and cons of many window products well, goes to great lengths to answer customer questions, and uses her experience to suggest shades and blinds that will look very good. She works well with her installer -- both of them are careful and thorough with the installation, and I'd recommend her V2K Window Décor service highly.

"We had a 30-year old Kohler whirlpool bathtub in our master bathroom with a leak that wouldn't stop and messed up the ceiling in our kitchen. Our plumber informed us that, because of the age of the tub, parts were unavailable. We wound up having to remove the tub, but doing so required that we would have to remove the tile around the tub, remove the floor tile, etc. In short, we had to gut the whole bathroom. We had used Ultimate Home Services, owned by Rick Weber, for several prior projects, but for the sake of due diligence we got other estimates as well. Rick came in the middle, but we were not really comfortable with the company with the lowest estimate. We had such good results in the past that we decided to go with Rick. In reality, we knew from the start that we would use Rick. He used primarily one worker for this job, who was excellent. He used other workers on prior jobs. They completely gutted the bathroom. He had previously formed a working relationship with our plumber, who suggested some major changes in the configuration of the plumbing. They worked closely together, and it turned out great. They were able to open up a shower area that had been enclosed except for a door into a glassed-in area with a much more open feeling. The bathroom has new sheetrock and cement-board, as appropriate, new tile, paint and fixtures. The ceiling in the kitchen was repaired. We are extremely pleased with the way it all turned out. In prior years, Rick renovated a powder room and a laundry room for us, and completely renovated our basement. We have always been pleased with his work and the results. He is always on top of the job and responds quickly to questions and suggestions. He supervises the work closely but is still respectful to his workers. On all the jobs he has done for us, we have raised questions about possible choices we may have, and Rick has always given good guidance. We are very happy with our new bathroom."

"From beginning to end my experience met and exceeded my expectations.  I mean the entire staff were awesome!!!.  Mike was very helpful and patient.  I have such an indecisive nature and he worked with me.  He helped me with my colors and all.  He answered all questions with ease, knowledge and professionalism.  Amy always stayed on top of things and she is such a breath of fresh air when she answers the phone.  The installers were not only punctual and neat but they were fast.  They even helped remove my closet door because I didn't realize the plushness of my carpet .  This company sells the best products.  I absolutely love Shaw products and they were able to provide.  I am going to use them for my window treatment as well."

FAQs for indoor shutters repair projects in New Milford, NJ

Yes! If your shutters have minor issues like broken hinges or misaligned panels, they can usually be repaired to restore their function and appearance. Repairing your shutters is often a cost-effective way to maintain their durability and curb appeal. However, for vinyl and composite shutters with extensive damage, it might be more practical to replace them to ensure they perform well in the long run.

Replacing a shutter costs $250 to $700 on average, and this cost covers both removal and installation processes. The expense includes proper disposal of the old shutter and ensures that a new, secure shutter system is installed. Additional fees may arise based on disposal requirements and professional service protocols.

Replacing shutters is not a complex undertaking when proper care is taken. The process requires careful alignment, precise fit, and secure fastening to ensure that the shutters function correctly and enhance the home's appearance. Attention to detail during removal and installation is critical, and skilled professionals provide the expertise needed to maintain both safety and design integrity.

Window shutters cost between $25 and $500 per panel, and this price range reflects the variety of materials and design options available. The cost stated excludes additional hardware and installation fees, which ensure the shutters are securely fixed and aesthetically pleasing. High-quality components lead to long-lasting performance while professional installation safeguards proper alignment.

Window shutters last between 20 and 25 years on average when they are properly maintained. Regular cleaning, timely repairs, and refinishing help protect the shutter's integrity and appearance throughout its expected lifespan. Consistent upkeep preserves functionality and ensures that shutters continue to provide protection and enhance the home's curb appeal over the long term.
