The inside rails were a bit complicated and Gerard was able to come up with a design that fit my budget and the house aesthetic. "When we started our plan of remodeling, the first thing we did was the complete roof replacement including kitchen vent & duct pipe installation to the roof, and new installation of attic ventilation. MMP did not only completed it just as agreed but also very efficiently. The crews were friendly, professional, and careful. The jobs were carefully managed and implemented effectively. I was impressed by Matt, who is the manager, and he does an outstanding job in managing the crews and the progress of the situation, and the communication was clear and always to the point. We then moved to initiate a search for a contractor of two bathrooms remodeling after completing the roof and attic vent, MMP was one of the many candidates. Matt has had not only the best idea and proposals but also shown an impressive & professional sense of evaluating the project accurately, including the possible structural modification as well as a competitive estimate of the cost of the build. His proposal included a rebuild of a wall of the bathroom to expand another one adjacent to it. Matt accepted to use my schematic design image (made with a software tool) and a spreadsheet list of the fixtures that I created - as many as fifty items including TOTO, Grohe, American Standard, Panasonic, and IKEA - to start the job (later changed some of them due to local plumbing code compliance) After beginning the bathroom remodel project, Matt shared what jobs will be done with us timely and efficiently via text so that we feel comfortable enough in knowing what is going on while living in the house of dust & noise from remodeling. The crews, Zen and Mark, were very courteous, extensively experienced, reliable, and friendly with excellent communication, sometimes with songs of 80s rock music. They ask me when more precise specifications are needed and notified me when they feel advance notifications are required. When a change is necessary due to inspection, they informed me and clarified what and why. I have never felt uncomfortable in living together with the remodel job which has lasted over four months. The completed two bathrooms were stunning, just as I imagined. Matt, Zen, and Mark have proved their strong & thoughtful expertise and lived up with my request patiently until completion. Great job. A home remodeling project cannot be successful without having a trusted partner, and my experience with MMP has led me to be glad to share my confidence that MMP has a credential to become your reliable partner to manage a construction project together."

"We originally contacted Tony to do some framing for a new drywall ceiling in the function hall of an old church.  The old plaster ceiling had been covered over with acoustic tile on strapping years ago, and the whole ceiling was beginning to sag and fail.  Tony came out, assessed the situation and provided a quote.  He also suggested looking into a drop ceiling as an alternative.  Given the challenges of framing in an old building, and that the drop ceiling would save us considerable time and money on the project (along with several other pluses), we chose the drop ceiling option.  Tony got the job done efficiently, provided us regular updates, and help us coordinate work with our electrician.  The final result was much better than we imagined!  The ceiling looks great, and we are very happy with the work that was done.

"Overall it was a great experience and we've been very pleased with the quality of the end result. Yes it was an expensive, long project but we view it as a great value / investment as we intend to make this our family's home for at least the next 30 years. The renovation has transformed this 100 year old house into a beautiful home that can sustain our modern family lifestyle and green values while appreciating it's vintage "arts & crafts" features. ***** Like an major renovation of this scale, we initially underestimated the scope and cost of our renovation project. We had come up with a guesstimate of about $350k and four months before choosing our build design team. After selecting Sustainable Construction (partnered with Zero-Energy Design for architectural and mechanical system services) based on their commitment to green renovation and positive feedback from other customers, we spent last summer refining the scope of the project and reviewing the architectural and system design plans. By the end of August, we signed contracts for $550k worth of renovation, design, and material costs with detailed project plan, milestones, and completion date for the end of April 2009 (7 months of work). We moved out into a temporary apartment in September and work began in earnest by the end of the month. ***** During the project we met on-site, weekly or biweekly, with Daniel Glickman (owner, SCSI) and/or the project foreman John Matlack, to review progress, discuss issues, and make decisions. We often dropped by early in the morning or after hours to check-in on progress or ask questions. Both Daniel and John were always available and responsive to our questions either in person, by mobile phone, or email. As foreman / project manager, John was a great, detail oriented "taskmaster" insuring quality and timeliness of the work performed by the various subcontractors and craftsmen With SCSI's oversight, all of the completed work from asbestos removal, interior demolition, insulating, HVAC system install, electrical work, plumbing, tiling, window installation, carpentry,plaster, sheet rock, painting, paving/brickwork and cleanup was of a very high quality. ***** The project was completed on time (actually a week or so early) and on budget. ***** We would highly recommend SCSI, his team and all of the subcontractors he employed for other projects."

"I had seen the Robert Scott truck around town and saw some good reviews on his work.  I called him to give us an estimate on remodeling our front entryway and rebuilding the front steps.  He was very prompt and gave us an estimate right away.  We talked a bit about my ideas and concerns about opening up the house to build a portico over the entryway which would require extensive tearing up of the old roof and walls and remodeling the front of the house to match the old.  My concern, after looking over the estimate, was that it just didn't feel like he had enough detailed analysis of the work required and that the costs could have been much more than expected.  In the end, we decided not to build the portico but just re-work the old entrance without a major remodel.  We hired someone we've known a long time to do the work.
