Get matched with top carport (metal) builders in North Chicago, IL

"Brandon is the first contractor we have hired who showed up (early) was meticoulas with his craftsmanship AND did a beautiful job. Building inspectors commented on our deck saying it was the most beautiful and structurally sound deck they have ever seen! I love my deck and will use Stoffel for all my carpentry and building needs."

"Paul gave us an estimate shortly after we requested one.  We had recently had asbestos vinyl tile and mastic removed from our basement, and in the process had to remove a built-in bench which left the lower
part of an otherwise paneled wall exposed.  Another wall had paneling that was mismatched from top to bottom.
Also we have a staircase with vinyl asbestos tile that we wanted to cover.   We wanted to install ceramic tile on the basement floor, but were unsure what to do to fix the walls and stairs.
Paul told us "everything is possible" when we asked him what we could do to repair the wall and cover the stairs.  Paul suggested that he would install oak treads and risers on our staircase up to the kitchen.   This was a unique and welcome
suggestion as we had heard many others but did not feel satisfied with any of them.  He told us he could fix the walls and do the tiling as well.   His estimate was timely and detailed.  We liked the price so we went with his team.
They were punctual, professional, and made our basement walls and staircase beautiful!  He repaired both walls so that they both look better than they ever had.  The wall where the bench was removed ran short of panels, so Paul and his team took a small,under-the-staircase door made of the same material to finish the wall.  They replaced the door so that it works better than the old one and looks good.  The tile has brightened up the whole room and the baseboards and moulding have finished the look so we feel we have a new living space.  The staircase is beautiful!  We love our basement now!  Paul and his team went above our expectations, and we would hire them again for sure.

"In 2017, when I was looking to purchase a house in the Rockford area that was needing a full siding install I contacted GF Company in Belvidere. IL, who I found on Angie’s list and at that time GF Co had great reviews. Strangely enough these great reviews are no longer to be found on Angie’s List. It should also be noted there is a GF Siding in Cherry Valley. IL, this is Not the company that I did business with. Ariel Zmijewski (the owner) got me a quote quickly and I decided to purchase the house. A few months later in July 2017, I contacted Ariel again to discuss the finer points of the quote, the price was revised slightly and the Ariel mentioned that once a deposit was paid work could start 6-8 weeks later, but said the install would be finished before the cold weather arrived. I started creating a color layout and Ariel provided some feedback on what would work and not work. To this point I was very happy with progress. In September 2017 I paid a deposit of over $8k (about 44% of final price) and awaited updates for a start date. Nothing happened. In early March 2018 I contacted GF Co by phone stating that I had been very patient and they had had $8k as a deposit for the last 6 months and I had nothing to show for it. After a couple more calls and emails Ariel showed up with his foreman Mark and they said that work would start in the middle of the following week. Much to my surprise the work started on time. Over the course of the next 4 weeks Mark and his crew worked hard, only missing a few days due to bad weather, I even agreed to having some extra work done by the team, some wooden entrance steps that needed replacing for an additional $2.5k. By early May 2018 the job was finished the house looked great and I was very happy with the work and appearance and was getting compliments from neighbors too. The balance of owed of over $10k was paid with 48 hours of the work being finished. Again I was happy with work done, until… A few months after the install a TV cable box started having troubles. Cut a long story short the wall socket died because cable was suddenly defective, also the crew had moved the exterior cable input box and this didn’t help the issue. Comcast fixed it, but I now have an exterior cable showing and they had to drill through the siding. Then around Halloween 2018, less than six months after having the install completed, I noticed that a piece of siding (6ft approx.) had become detached underneath a window, trying to pop it back into place did not resolve the issue. After checking all the other exterior windows I noticed 1 other window was about to do the same thing. I called the GF Company main number and left a message with the receptionist for Ariel to contact me. No response. I called again a couple of times and left more messages still no response. In March 2019 siding problem under windows still Not fixed, I called GF Company again, no answer, and no voice mail. I called a couple more times on different days still no answer or voice mail. I then sent an email to the company and to my surprise I received a response from Ariel stating this was the first that he had heard of it. About a week later (3/26/19) he showed up at my house to view the problem. Ariel stated that he would get someone over to fix the problem, but would not give me a date or time. On 4/2/19 I emailed Ariel again asking for confirmation of a repair date ? Nothing but crickets… On 4/30/19, I sent another email to Ariel requesting that the repairs be completed before the end of May 2019, again no response. Quote / contract says: Customers will receive a Lifetime Warranty on Material and Workmanship Reported GF Company to Illinois BBB on 6/5/19."

"We are very happy with the painting done by Haris Inc. They were efficient and did a beautiful job with our walls. Will definitely use them again for other house projects."

"When we started researching the garage companies that had been recommended to us, my wife and I couldn’t believe how many bad reviews there were for the companies we were considering. We found lots of complaints about problems with subcontractors and lack of communication and coordination from the sales and office staff. The last thing we wanted was to start up an expensive construction project and end up struggling with the contractor the whole way through the process. ***** We decided to go to Angie's List and check out garage companies in the area and we found Regency Garages. We were impressed by their high rating, all the positive reviews, and the service awards they received. We gave them a call and lined up a quote to take down our old single car garage, build a new two and a half car garage, and replace the sidewalk in our yard. Alex came to the house, met with us, and provided a quote that was in line with the three quotes we received from other companies so we signed a contract and started the process. ***** Regency’s motto is, “Our Customer Service Makes The Difference” and we put that to the test. The day after the demolition, the demo crew long gone, my neighbor contacted me and told me that their sidewalk had been damaged. I pictured myself in the middle of a conflict between my builder and my neighbor. I contacted Alex and the first thing he said was, “No problem. If we did it, we’ll fix it.” When Rich came out with his cement crew a few days later, they did just that. It was fixed, no questions asked, no blaming the other crew, no hassle. ***** A good company gets the job done at the price you’ve been quoted. To me, the measure of a great company is how they handle the problems along the way. Alex was in contact with us from the initial sale to through the final construction. He stopped by a couple of times to check on progress and make sure I was happy. Gosia from the office kept me informed of the schedule each step of the way. Any questions I had were answered promptly. Any issues I had were addressed immediately. I always felt they had my back and were working to make my experience pleasant. ***** My wife and I are loving our new garage. It’s big and beautiful and the construction by Derrick and his crew was done with quality in mind. We are happy and my neighbor is happy. We are glad we chose Regency for the project. Their customer service really did make the difference."

"John was recommended by a friend of ours and we liked him. So he did replace our old windows and also did some woodwork around the door. JF is very professional and very nice and easy to work with. Will recommend him anytime."

"The services provided by this from were FANTASTIC! I required basic interior painting and plastering to prepare a condo for rent. They were on time, professional, detail oriented, and went above and beyond to meet and exceed expectations. They moved furniture with care, and thoroughly cleaned after the job. I am a stickler for detail--they exceeded my expectations without supervision. One of THE best services I've used to date. I highly recommend Orlando Paint Works.

"It went very well.  The employees have a fine attention to detail.  I ordered some moulding product online.  And had hoped to install  it myself ( I sometimes consider myself handy) Fortunately, I hired them! It would of been a nightmare for me and a project I would of never finished.  They noticed that the moulding thickness was not the same across all the pieces that I ordered, which would of caused real issues when installing.  They were able to fix the moulding and make my formal dining room which doubles as my client meeting room GORGEOUS! Quickly they moved onto the stair reconstruction.  I love it!!!
They were on-time everyday and cleaned up the mess every evening before they left. They were courteous, professional and knowledgeable of each project and offered alternative solutions to some of the hiccups we had along the way.
I have referred Jason and his team many times and will continue to use his services for my home refinishing needs."

"The salesman at Chicagoland Builders Inc Company was really nice. The workers who came out did excellent quality work. They worked hard. They cleaned up after themselves. We ended up having a design problem though. There was some miscommunication between our designers and the workers from Chicagoland Builders Inc Company. So, together, they ended up making the weirdest design decision. I?m not sure which one of them made the decision. Anyway, it didn?t matter so much because Chicagoland Builders Inc Company was great about coming back really quickly and fixing the problem. So they were extremely responsive. Their pricing was great. They were very professional. I would highly recommend them. In fact, I'm planning to have them out for another job very soon."

"The garage was built in February. We signed the contract in September and the garage was finished in March. It took 6 months and 1 day, and the actual building of the garage took 8 hours. I was surprised it took that long. The sales man said it would roughly take 60 days, but they don't commit to a finish date on their contract because everything is weather permitting. We had a beautiful fall, unusually high temperature, and as often as I called them, they said I was next on the list, and I would never recommend Danley Garage to anybody. The electric was completed in March. From the time I signed the contract to when I could pull in took 6 months and 1 day. They subcontract all the work out. They subcontract the concrete work out, they subcontract the electrical work out and the actual garage is built by Danley. I admit the material was fine, and it was a 3 man crew who were trained very well. Everybody knew what their job is because they literally had the garage built in less than 8 hours and I am talking about the wood, the siding, the roofing, everything was done. The problem I had with Danley, the companies that they sub out to, but you would think that Danley would manage all the companies that they subcontract, but they send you a letter and say here contact all these people. I would think I paid them to do that and not me. It took forever to get the concrete work done, and of course at that time, in February, when the garage was built, the electric company told me they can't run it from my house to the garage, because it has to be run underground and the ground is frozen. I had to wait until I could do that. I wasn't happy with them, I certainly wouldn't use them again and I wouldn't recommend them. I would like to give them a worse grade than C but the garage is well built. My anger comes from how long it took, and I had to deal with the subcontractors. It should have been done quicker, and it certainly should have been done better. The price was pretty compatible to the estimates that I got. They gave me a little break because another company had given me a lower bid. We had an independent contractor and he said that we were better off getting a company doing garages only, because any contractor would charge hourly. Danley has every measured and they just cut the pieces. The workmanship and the concrete was done well. The siding and shingle was quality and the woodwork was excellent. All that they kept telling me was that my name was on the list, I also drove out there, and they said everything was dependable on weather. Unless they had 150 garage ahead of me, it shouldn't have taken so long. When you speak to them, they are very understanding of your problems and situation, but they don't care. It is what it is, you signed the contract and made the down payment."
