"We are so happy with this company, their customer service, and quality of the repair!!! I got New Again's name and number from a neighbor and called yesterday morning. A company representative arrived at our house yesterday afternoon to get the frames, and the repaired frames were delivered today! New Again replaced the sagging straps (I think originally made from nylon) with strong vinyl straps. The gal that answered the phone when I called was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and she was able to give me an estimate over the phone ($3.25 per strap). She called me this morning to say the straps had been repaired and she scheduled the delivery for this afternoon. The man that came to pick up and deliver the frames was also very friendly, knowledgeable, and punctual. We are so happy with the job they did and are thrilled to have usable deck furniture again! We highly recommend this company! <br />"

"<p>I contacted David Gedminias by telephone and he gave me a tentative bid from just my description of the work.  I emailed photos of the two pieces to him and he promptly responded with a firm bid which matched his original verbal estimate.  He was my first of four bids.  I was familiar with the quality of David?s work because my parents had used him about 12 years ago on an insurance restoration claim, so I really wanted to go with him, but since both my rocker and chair also needed re-upholstry work in addition to stripping, re-gluing and refinishing I got bids from other Angie?s list providers that did all those services in house.  In the end, I chose to go with David because he linked me up with a fellow that he recommend that did upholstery and I couldn?t be any happier!  My costs for both services were just a bit more than ½ the cost of the other refinisher/upholstery shops bids and I have gotten nothing but compliments on the quality of both the refinishing & upholstery jobs. </p> <p>David is a delightful fellow and makes sure that he has done everything to make you a satisfied customer!  I would recommend him without reservation.   </p> <br />"

"We had 4 wooden lounge chairs on our patio, that due to weather and years of neglect, had fallen into a state of disrepair. I sent some pictures to Ron and then he came by the house to review their condition and then gave me a proposal to do the work. He wound up disassembling one chair for parts and rebuilt the other three. He took it upon himself at no additional charge to power wash the three chairs (when repaired) and oil and refinish the chairs so they literally looked like new. He returned the lounge chairs when promised, gave me his professional opinion about some repairs to other teak furniture on our patio and is in the process of rebuilding one other bench. Also gave recommendation on how to prolong the life of other wooden furniture on the patio. Very professional and helpful. <br />"

"Julie painted the bannister and balusters at my brother's house and based on their fabulous results, I just had to have her for our project of painting our stair risers and skirts white since we had just had the stairs refinished. We had attempted to do it ourselves and had done some sanding already, but because of constraints such as recently having a baby and just plain laziness, it never got done. Therefore, I called Julie and left a message. She got back with me within a couple of days and we arranged for her to come out for an estimate. She looked at the project very closely and I could tell she was very detailed and thought through to the end to ensure a great result.  The estimate was more than fair and we scheduled a date. She ended up having to reschedule the date, but was really great in communicating this reschedule as well as each day she came out, she would text approximately when she would get there and if she was going to be running early, on time, or late. She treated our project like it was her own with the end goal of making it look great with straight lines, etc.  Our stairs are in an old, old house (>100 years) with uneven wood flooring and the white borders of the risers were still straight and crisp and did not enhance the flaws and unevenness in our floors because she took the time to caulk and tape carefully.  In her cleaning/wipe down, some of the old finish came off the bannister and Julie was great about painting the bare section to match the rest of it for free. It looks so good we just might have to have her come back to make the rest of the bannister look as good!!  Oh, and the brick surround on our fireplace looked great, too. <br />   <br /> Long story short, we purchased this old house, gutted it and put it back together so we've dealt with a lot of workers (demo people, carpenters, carpet installers, drywall people, etc) and Julie is at the top of the list. It was one of the best experiences we've had from start to finish if not the best. I would recommend Julie to anyone in a heartbeat. I appreciate her thoroughness and attention to detail, which is often lost in this industry. Thank you, Julie! <br />"

FAQs for furniture refinish projects in Olathe, KS

A complete table refinishing project requires between four and eight days from start to finish. The actual hands-on work takes between two and 10 hours, with the remaining time dedicated to drying periods between applications. The stripping and sanding phases demand the most active labor, while applying finishes requires patience as each layer dries completely before proceeding.

Several elements influence dining table refinishing costs, with size being the primary factor. Larger tables or those with extensions require more materials and labor time. The wood type matters significantly—hardwoods may need specialized treatment compared to softer woods. The table's current condition also impacts pricing, as damaged surfaces need repairs before refinishing can begin.

Refinishing often proves more economical than purchasing a comparable quality replacement. Professional table refinishing costs between $150 and $400 on average, while preserving the original craftsmanship and character of your piece.

This approach makes particular sense for well-constructed wood furniture that would be expensive to replace with similar quality. For sentimental pieces or antiques, refinishing also maintains their history and personal value.

Professional furniture refinishers charge between $40 and $100 per hour for their services. This rate varies based on geographic location, the refinisher's experience level, and the complexity of the project. Some professionals offer project-based pricing rather than hourly rates, especially for standard-sized pieces like coffee tables or end tables. When requesting quotes, ask whether the estimate includes materials or represents labor costs only.

For tables with minor wear, you can sometimes refresh the appearance without complete stripping and sanding. Using gel stains and wipe-on finishes can address surface issues while preserving the existing finish underneath. This approach works best for tables with light cosmetic damage rather than those with deep scratches or damaged finishes. However, proper stripping and sanding remain necessary for comprehensive restoration or significant color changes for professional-quality results.
