"Technician stated hot water heater needed to be total replaced due to normal wear and tear. Hot water heater is initially the hot water heater installed in 1999 when home was built. Choice Home Warranty denied the claim after several years of being a loyal customer, making payments on- time every month. What is the use of having this warranty for times as this and when you need them, they denied the claim? Although the service was good, response time adequate, providing the services needed when your appliance break down and being denied repairs was disappointing and devastating, especially when coronavirus is rampant and you really need your hot water to wash clothes, dishes, bath, shower, and remain sanitary. I am so heart broken because I live on a fixed income and am disable, and can’t afford to purchase a hot water heater at this time. They determined that the water heater was not operating properly as a result of a lack of effective maintenance of the unit. What a crock!"

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"Immediate Response did an excellent job, both by coming to my house immediately to replace a broken pipe for my sprinkler system that had caused water to get in part of my basement, and by replacing all the original shower and bath fixtures for my house.. I have a 1950's house, and those items were not standard. The had to find those types of fixtures for the shower, and the 3 faucet bathtub. Their pricing for all this was very reasonable, and was estimated and done by the job not by the hour. I am already set to use them again to start replacing more of the old pipes in my house.. "The original project was done adequately. However while doing a 20ft hydojet clean out and camera inspection for an additional $900. We were told that for $2500 more we should replace the 5-6 ft caste iron pipe that was left between both ends of the PVC sewer pipe. And to replace 20ft septic line to confirm proper pitch would be about $6500. We had a second opinion and had the complete line dug up, re-pitched and replaced for $1500. Also the 5-6 ft caste iron pipe was actually only 2ft long and was next to the PVC line and clean out that Mr Rooter replaced. So could have been corrected easily while they were performing the original repair. Since they had service advisors who could come out the same day. The project was urgent enough to eliminate second opinions. So do not know what a competitive price would be but the additional recommendations and charges were very high."
