"Dale King understood our vision of the project from the very beginning. Dale and the crew performed the tear down and new construction meticulously. They were professional, courteous and honest. They kept us informed throughout the process. While they were here, we decided to have them remove/rebuild the chimney. It looks great! We have gotten numerous compliments on the high quality of the work from family, friends, neighbors, and other contractors. We highly recommend Koontz Construction and will use them again. In fact, they were back here last week to perform some lentil repair that they had noticed needed attention."

"Called for an estimate and they came out within two weeks.  From estimate to installation it was another two weeks.  Two men came out removed the old steps, installed new cement base blocks for steps to rest on and then installed the steps.  They carefully measured and leveled the installation as well as caulked exposed seams.  Very professional job.  New steps are much easier to use than old ones.  Would highly recommend. <br />"

"T.J. Farinacci & his crew were prompt, professional, & skilled craftsmen. The team laid a hidden concrete edge along the outer pavers to replace the the unsightly plastic border that kept buckling up. After the restoration my patio is absolutely beautiful, it looks brand new!"

"One screw type pier installed. 2 workers hand dug hole below bottom of foundation. Cleaned out under foundation for platform. Although foundation was deeper than I thought, the hole was done much better and quicker than I envisioned. Pier was screwed at bottom of hole with a hydraulic motor. Once limit on hydraulic pressure was reached, the pier was cut at proper level, platform installed, and cracked section of foundation was raised with a hydraulic jack. Crack in stonework closed up nicely without going too far and creating additional cracks. Workers had 5 and 15 years experience doing this work. Very professional and did a very nice job every step of the way. Note that I (homeowner) chose to move and reinstall landscaping stones and gutter drain. Also, tuckpointing/repairing the cracks was not included in the quote. I plan to do that myself at a later date."

"Greene Concrete Leveling workmen arrived at my house during the two-hour window I was given. They repaired my cracked and ugly driveway and leveled the slabs exactly as the original estimator Ronnie had described during the quote. The service was excellent, quickly and professionally completed with pressure wash clean-up to the area. John, the other technician agreed to caulk up some of the larger gaps between the slabs and I am more than satisfied with the results. Thank you Greene Concrete Leveling!"

"When some workers were on my roof fixing a broken shingle, they noticed that the bricks on my chimney looked like they were crumbling.  I called Thompson's Masonry to get an estimate of repair work.  Bob Thompson came out right away, and recommended a complete chimney rebuild.  He also gave me an estimate for replacing some damaged bricks and tuckpointing and sealing the brickwork on the front of my house, which was in pretty bad shape.  When I spoke to Bob, he agreed to take off $100 if I had both done at the same time, which I really appreciated since they were both fairly big expenses.  (He also offered to honor the estimate for the brickwork on the front next spring if I decided to just do the chimney and wait on the rest, but I decided to go ahead with both).  Bob was great - friendly and professional.  He called me back right away, answered all of my questions, and showed up when he said he would.  He was able to match the bricks and mortar color of the existing brickwork.  He even fixed the tuckpointing on my front steps, which another group had "fixed" (badly) in the spring, so it matched.  Everything looks great.  I would definitely call him again if I need any masonry work done.  <br />"

FAQs for brick or stone siding: install or completely replace projects in Painesville, OH

Brick siding offers numerous advantages, including high durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, requiring minimal maintenance and lasting for generations. It provides natural insulation, enhancing energy efficiency by regulating indoor temperatures year-round. Brick is fire-resistant, improving home safety, and reduces external noise for a quieter indoor environment. Its timeless aesthetic appeal boosts curb appeal and can increase your home's resale value.

Yes, you can add brick to an existing house. One option is to remove the current siding and install full brick masonry, which involves laying traditional bricks with mortar for a solid brick exterior. Alternatively, you can opt for brick veneer siding, a thinner layer of real or manufactured brick applied over the existing structure. Brick veneer is typically more affordable and easier to install while still providing the aesthetic benefits of brick. Both methods can enhance your home's appearance and value.

Yes, installing brick siding often provides a significant return on investment. With an average ROI of around 77%, and some returns exceeding 80%, brick siding enhances curb appeal, energy efficiency, and longevity, making your home more attractive to potential buyers and potentially increasing resale value.

Brick siding is known for its exceptional longevity, often lasting over 100 years when properly maintained. Regular maintenance, like repointing mortar joints, ensures its durability over time. Brick veneer, while thinner than full brick masonry, is durable and can last up to 50 years or more with proper care. Both options offer long-lasting protection and value for your home.

When choosing brick siding, consider your budget, as costs can vary depending on brick type and installation method. Also, consider your desired aesthetic; different bricks offer various colors, textures, and styles to complement your home's architecture. Installation time and complexity are factors, with options like brick veneer being quicker and less labor-intensive than full brick masonry. Additionally, assess the maintenance requirements and durability to select the best option for your long-term needs.

Alternatives to brick siding include vinyl siding, which is cost-effective and low-maintenance and offers a variety of colors and styles. Wood siding provides a natural, classic look but requires more upkeep to prevent weather damage. Fiber cement siding is durable and can mimic the appearance of wood or masonry without the high maintenance. Each alternative has its own advantages, so consider factors like budget, aesthetics, and maintenance when making your choice.
