Once the electricity came back on the water was pumped away but the basement was wet and I needed a water restoration pro. Called Sal after Home Advisor recommended him and he immediately called me back. He came in the next day and did exactly what he said he would do at the very reasonable price he first quoted me. He did an excellent job and I intend to call him again this April to complete two outdoor carpentry jobs I need done on the house. "We contacted Distinctive Painting because we were having issues painting a ceiling in our house. Turns out the plaster had calcimine and that's why the latex paint wouldn't stick. Mario contacted us back and even though they didn't perform the service, Mario told us exactly what to do and which materials to use to be able to do the job. We were happy to do it (it was only a ceiling...), but his information was crucial. I will also say that I contacted five other painting contractors, left messages, but no other company got back to us. If we ever need a bigger job, we will certainly contact Distinctive Painting!

"Initial service call was to clean out air ducts.  Inspection found mold in ducts and air handler.  Revised job was $700 to clean, disinfect, and apply anti-mold solution to AC system, and to provide and install a UV light to help prevent mold issues from returning.
The cleaning went reasonably quickly, but they didn't have a UV lamp with them, so a return visit was scheduled.
The UV lamp was installed on the return visit, but due to a lack of electrical outlets in my attic, it is not currently active.  This is not the contractor's fault, but it would have been nice to know before purchasing the product.

"I purchased the Big Deal in Oct. but the provider was unable to come to my home until late Dec. due to weather and other problems. They did keep in contact through emails and phone calls. They said that the deal was for a two story house and they considered my house to be 3 stories, counting the basement windows. They did go onto the roof and found damaged areas and will be back to repair them when the weather improves, but the work will not be covered by the Big Deal price."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"The WIN crew came in and helped remove the damaged items (which was a big undertaking!), then they removed any remaining water with their vacuum. They left a fan and a dehumidifier run for a few days and returned to spray a green based product (Benefect) to prevent any mold from growing. The men who came to my home were professional, polite, and friendly. I am grateful for their help!"
