"I recently worked with Dan on a real estate appraisal. After speaking with a few appraisers, I chose Dan because he took the time to thoroughly explain the process, including IRS-qualified appraisal criteria, which made me feel the most comfortable. I was very impressed with his professionalism and expertise. He was punctual, thorough, and delivered a comprehensive report quickly. I highly recommend Dan and would work with him again in the future."

"Working with Mike Murgatory, Peter D and team were terrific to work with- very professional and knowledgeable and a super experience. Pleasure to work with- having sold real estate myself for almost 20 years I can say that this team is fantastic! From beginning to the closing it went smoothly. I would recommend them to anyone."

"Kevin looked at various paintings, dolls, jewelry, crystal, household goods, vintage toys, figurines, lamps, miscellaneous items such as a Yankees’ baseball signed by team members, vintage fountain pens, 20th C Child’s violin, Shirley Temple dolls, vintage opera glasses, etc. He took pictures of the items he felt had some unique quality and worth and later got back to us with a listing of the items and their value. Kevin helped us to know the actual value of items for estate sale. He was kind in realizing the owner had come from humble means. He understands all levels of value."

"<strong>The good:</strong> <br /> Initial conversation went well; fair fees and competitive rates. Broker was responsive and eager to proceed with the loan (called me a couple times even after I told him I'd get back in a few hours - hey eagerness is ok with me). <br /> <strong>The Bad:</strong> <br /> After signing the commitment papers and paid for rate-lock/appraisal, getting a call back was non-existent (always says he's busy). To be fair the broker was usually available when I called <br /> <strong>The Ugly:</strong> <br /> The biggest issues is that AFMC uses Springhouse Appraisals (an aggregator who makes money on the difference between what you pay and how low they can pay their appraisers). Their business model depends on how low they can spend on subcontractor appraisers - so how much experience do you think their hires have? My appraiser was SHADY. Suppose to be Philly based (first question I asked my broker) but his business address is a 3rd floor apartment that was on the rental market. His cell number is Jersey based and he missed a comp property on the next block but picked one up that's half mile away (too far in Philly). Needless to say it was LOW!! I don't mean a little under but laughing-on-the-floor low. At that point to pull out of the deal means losing $1250 (rate lock & appraisal fee) so AFMC would not care. My broker wasn't helpful even though I showed him the sold property on the next block. (he said he'll talk to his boss but ended up not calling back). <br /> <strong>Bottom Line:</strong> <br /> I made a mistake by not using my regular mortgage guy (he had too many projects and wanted me to wait). My recommendation is to use someone else if you live in Philly and need a high appraisal. I think Jersey would be ok with this company. Otherwise they provide competitive rates and have lower than average fees with competent mortgage brokers on staff - when you can get a hold of them. <br />"

"Called asking if they do appraisals, and they said no. Cannot say anything bad about the company; maybe the are mis-classified in Angie's List."

"We had been been combatting lichen and moss on our roof and property for the last 20 years with no real luck. I noticed Roof Renew Pros doing work in our neighborhood and figured I would give them a try. Talking to them on the phone was easy and they understood right away what I needed done. They gave me the quote the next day and away we went. The team showed up on time and set our expectations for the day. We could not be happier, they communicated to us what they were going to do and we especially liked that no harsh chemicals were used. The roof came out great, I was worried it would get ruined but they did not do anything harsh. There was an inspection beforehand to let me know the roof was in good shape, except for the lichen and moss. And, lot's of pictures. They took care of the roof, the shed's roof, the back patio and the front walkway. Even the retaining walls we have, which was great. Everything is so new. And, they cleaned the gutters. So, very wonderful job done by Roof Renew Pros. I would definitely suggest them to friends and family."

"Phenomenal experience!! I could not have asked for a better realtor. My widowed Mom moved to Florida to be close to me and eventually decided to part with her home of 62 years and put me in charge. I found Eileen on Angies List and contacted her and it has been the best experience selling a house I could have imagined, especially since I was 1000 miles away and unable because of my employment to come up to NY easily and handle the multitude of matters myself. Eileen was compassionate and professional and made my Mom feel that everything was going to be handled with loving care, as she was still as you can imagine very sentimental about the home. After I came up and arranged for items my Mom and other family wanted to keep to be removed, Eileen recommended an estate sale person to handle the sale and disposition of the remaining 62 years of accumulated items in a large home and that went exceptionally well. She recommended painters, handymen and other professionals to get everything perfect and my dealings with every one of these people were great, costs very reasonable, rapid response and quality of work exceptional. She arranged for a cleaning service and even made sure that someone kept the snow and ice off of the driveway and walkway. She recommended an attorney and my dealings with Gary Dunn, Esq have been excellent as he communicated quickly and took care of getting a NY power of attorney, handling all affairs and representing my mother at the closing. Eileen would check on the house frequently and even replaced on her own a failing battery on the thermostat when she stopped by one day for a routine check and found the house cool. She and her husband picked up a bulky trunk that my mom brought over from Italy when she came to this country and that we did not want to sell to be shipped long distance to us on her dime because of the Angie's List discount we were provided by her, and even after closing on the house wanted to confirm my Mom's address to mail another small personal item to my Mom that she had found left in the house. The closing had been delayed because of a minor error on the original Certificate of Occupancy from the build date in 1953, and she went down to the Town of Oyster Bay and sat and waited and eventually was able to get the mistake corrected that day when the usual channels to go through would have taken a month or two more to rectify! Her commision was very reasonable for all of the work she put in, and my Mom and I can't say enough good things about her. She was pleasant to speak with and would text and email to keep us up to date. And the same compliments go for all of her recommendations on service providers. New Yorkers are very blessed to have such a great realtor, but I must confess I have put in a plug for her to move to Florida and help us here! <br />"
