"Don listened to our problem and he checked the faucets in the master bath.  He was concerned that it was a problem in the wall but when we explained some of the changes that had recently taken place in the house he had another thought.  We'd had an icemaker line added recently and when it was done the person tapped into the wrong line in the wall.  By turning off the hot water to a bar sink Don was able to provide us cold water in the bathroom again.  (an expensive lesson on being certain the person doing work is a licensed plumber). <br /> Don also checked the holes in the wall under the sinks and suggested that a carpenter might be able to fix them and he would give us the name of someone.  He also thought he might be able to get a part for a couple of places that would cover the holes. <br /> Overall it was a worthwhile visit and we will call on him again in the future if we need a plumber! <br />"

"<p>Sink clogs on & off. My husband clears it up, but it clogs up again. We do not put grease or other down the drain.</p> <p>I checked on Angie's list and based on ratings selected this provider. They contacted me immediately and set up an appointment for the next day. </p> <p>The serviceman was prompt, put on booties, and was very nice. He spent 2 hours here because he told me he wanted to clean the pipe out way into the yard so it would not get clogged again. He also verified that there are no cracks or breaks in the pipe due to old age, tree roots, etc.</p> <p>I will definitely use this provider again.</p> <br />"

"<p>Scheduled to replace the my garbage disposal for a Thursday.  He called to reschedule due to weather restrictions from another job.  Tried to set up for a Friday afternoon, which was a very limited time frame for me.  He did not respond until an hour after our scheduled time. </p> <p><br /></p> <p>Although he was very nice and seemed prepared, I was disappointed with the scheduling.</p> <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Port Arthur, TX

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
