"I was very impressed with Sentri Homes - their customer service was excellent. They sent a subcontractor to install some vinyl laminate in my bathroom and he ended up getting glue all over the carpet in our bedroom. The sub ended up ghosting both me and Sentri, leaving me stuck with a ruined carpet. Sentri stuck with me for over a month to get the carpet replaced with the identical original and to get the vinyl job 100% completed. The carpet was a Home Depot exclusive and Sentri handled everything with them. I will be using Sentri for a much bigger renovation I have coming up soon, because I know that they will make sure everything gets done right no matter what problems come up. The vinyl looks great too."

"Our project involved closing up a framed opening in one wall and making framed opening in another wall, plus demolition of some mirrors and patching various areas of drywall in a remodel of a condo on the river in downtown Fort Myers. Throughout the entire project Trace : was a true professional at all times - provided excellent communications - delivered quality workmanship while also making productive use of time on the project - performed when he stated he would - followed up promptly to our calls and/or texts - and he made sure work was completed as promised. Having been in high quality construction for over 40 years, I am not easily impressed. I am proud to give Trace the highest recommendation possible!"

"We bought an older home in Cape Coral and it needed a good deal of work. The master bath and the guest bath were in need of significant updating including the replacement of some old contractor grade cabinets and really ugly counter tops. We visited a few cabinet shops and received three or four bids. A&D cabinets was not the lowest bid, but they did offer the choices of cabinets that we wanted. The colors, and the styles we wanted were not available at the lower price shop. We found A&D cabinets on the Angie's List site and we were so glad we did! Alfredo and Daily Najarro run this small family business in a way that beats the heck of any of the big box stores. The whole process, from my first phone call to their office to the final work inspection, was handled in the most professional manner I have experienced. Alfredo was extraordinarily patient in helping us select the right products. Daily called us promptly every time a communication was needed for scheduling and delivery of our new cabinets. The quality of the cabinets was just what we were looking for and were a good value. The work was scheduled for completion within a few weeks of our order, which met our need to have this work done before friends and family come for Thanksgiving. The installation was done on time and the quality of the work was excellent. Alfredo and his team, worked quickly and carefully and cleaned up completely when the job was done. Needless to say, we love our new vanities and we give our very highest recommendation to A&D Cabinets. They are outstanding!"

"Terrific right from the start. Great first impression, and Michael was very professional. Michael had a lot of good ideas that really made the project pop. I feel like he made recommendations like he was painting his own home. Responded quickly with a quote and was able to start in a couple of weeks. The entire interior was painted from walls, ceiling and doors. Michael actually installed 6 new interior doors for us. The quality of the work exceeded our expectations. Would highly recommend 5 Star Painting and we give him a 6 Stars rating."

"He was responsive when contacted, prompt with his service, and did a great job.  Without asking, he programed the new remote to include both door openers (one door already had an opener, the second door had the new opener he just installed."

FAQs for carpentry framing installation projects in Punta Gorda, FL

Professional contractors complete basement framing in three to five days, depending on the size and complexity of your space. Projects with simple, open layouts progress faster than those with multiple rooms and corners. DIY framers should expect the job to take significantly longer, potentially seven to 10 days or more, depending on experience level and available time. The timeline doesn't include other aspects of basement finishing like drywall installation, electrical work, or finishing touches, which extend the overall renovation schedule.

Most municipalities require building permits for basement framing projects. These permits cost between $1,200 and $2,000, ensuring your renovation meets local building codes for safety and structural integrity. Working without proper permits can result in penalties, forced removal of completed work, and complications when selling your home. Your local building department can provide specific information about permit requirements, inspection schedules, and any special considerations for basement renovations in your area.

For basement framing, use pressure-treated lumber for bottom plates (the horizontal boards that contact concrete floors) to prevent moisture damage and rot. Standard kiln-dried lumber is suitable for wall studs and top plates that don't directly contact concrete surfaces. The most common lumber dimension for basement wall framing is two-by-four, though some situations may call for two-by-six lumber to accommodate thicker insulation. Always check local building codes, as some jurisdictions have specific requirements for basement framing materials.

You can install drywall after framing is complete and inspected, but several important steps should happen first. Ensure any electrical, plumbing, or HVAC rough-ins are completed and inspected before closing up walls. Installing insulation between studs is highly recommended for temperature control and moisture management. Drywall installation adds an average of $3 to $4 per linear foot to your project, with painting costing an additional $2 to $6 per square foot. Address any moisture concerns before enclosing walls to prevent future damage and mold issues.
