"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"We had a bad experience with the first technician who didn't fix the problem, and who we found out later (after we submitted our first review) was fired.  We submitted a poor review on Angie's List, since the technician wouldn't get back to us and the problem had not been fixed.  The owner was very eager to remedy the situation, and showed up quickly to try to fix the problem.  We then wanted to wait until the next time it rained to see if the problem had been fixed.

However, the owner was in such a hurry for us to change our review, that he basically started harassing us, not wanting to wait until it rained so we could see if the problem had been resolved.  In the space of a few days of our initial poor review, he called and messaged us multiple times, and even showed up at our home without an appointment to try to convince us to just pour water on the roof to see if it was fixed, and then change our review.  In my opinion this pestering us to change our review was very unprofessional, especially since all we wanted to do was wait for it to rain so the roof could be tested in a realistic scenario.  I am submitting this review prior to it raining and seeing if the fix worked, so that I can be done with this and stop getting calls and messages asking me to change the review.  I hope that what he did fixed the roof, but if it didn't, I will be looking elsewhere for the next repair.

This probably has no effect on the work, and it may just be a pet peeve of mine, but the messages that we received through Angie's List from this provider were riddled with grammar and spelling mistakes, adding to the appearance of not being professional.  Had I received such an unprofessional message from them prior to any work being done, I would not have employed their services."

"Cary Reconstruction has a whole team of professionals who work together to get a home back to normal after a disaster (in our case, water damage). So far they located wet areas, even those not visible, like under flooring, removed wet sheet rock, subflooring, and demo'd hardwood and tile floors in order to set up powerful fans and targeted them to the areas needing to be dried out. This took a few days, but they did a good job and didn't cause much mess to our home in the process."

Had samples for us to pick and we felt we were getting a someone who knew what they were doing and wanted our business. I had called several different companies before going to Atlantic and some either made an appointment and didn't show or call. I was going to go with another company with Bryan called me back and asked to wait and speak with him and I am really glad I did.

"The 15 amp breaker connected to my outdoor AC unit was occasionally tripping for about 6 months. I called Veterans Home improvement to find the problem. Rick and a fellow colleage came out the next business day and diagnosed the problem. They were very friendly and were even nice enough to wave the diagnosis/trip charge since they were in the neighborhood for other business anyway. They believed that the current amperage of the breaker was insufficient to handle the AC compressor load during extreme temperatures at start up. He called his electrician to come out the same day to replace the 15 amp breaker with a 30 amp breaker. The electrician charged me $85. Interestingly enough, the electrician seem to express slight doubt that this might have been the problem. About 3 weeks later, after periodic use, the breaker tripped again. After another 4-6 weeks the problem became progressively worse, so I called Veterans Home improvement. I left a voicemail with Rick. Ricked called back but I missed the phone call. He didn't leave a message, but my caller ID displayed his returned call. I called back and left another voicemail, but Rick never called me back. $85 down the drain due to a misdiagnosis. I really thought that this would have been a great company for other home improvement type work that I had in mind, but not returning my phone call or taking responsibility for their incorrect diagnosis was unprofessional and ruined any trust factor that I may have had with this company. The worst thing you can do is not respond to customers, especially when there's a problem. This is all to common in Fayetteville."
