"I can’t say enough fantastic things about this team. I hired them to do a structural assessment/plans for my long-awaited home renovation. To start, Rob contacted me after my inquiry within the same business day. At that point I had gotten a few quotes and found their pricing to be the most reasonable. In staying with the theme of responsiveness, to keep my project on schedule, I needed plans back within about a week, and to my joy, they delivered! Before this, hiring a structural engineer seemed daunting, but they made it easy. Everyone - Rob, the engineers (Miguel & Steve) and Michelle, (their operations manager) were so accommodating and friendly. If the thought of hiring a structural engineer stresses you out, call CBS. If you hire them I think you’ll understand why I’ve given them such high praise ?"

"Facia installed looked better than the original install, it was straight and not one bit uneven, Shingles install was the best install I’ve seen, every corner and angle was put together perfect. I have had 3 storm damage roof repairs in 10 years and used a different contractor on each. I wish I would have found EZ Home on the first two installs."

"Jeff far exceeded my expectations. Communication was good. While he had to reschedule, he called to ask if it would be okay and if it wasn't, he would come at the original time. I was able to be flexible so no big deal. I was impressed he called to ask and gave me the option. Not all other service providers do that. He gave excellent advice on what to buy so I was able to purchase the items he needed prior to his arrival. When I told him I wasn't able to get one thing he mentioned as there were too many to choose from, he took it in stride and went right out to get what he needed. He was prompt, polite and, explained things incredibly well. His price was well below what other handypeople had quoted me. I live alone and it can be daunting to have a stranger come into your home. He was polite, kind and respectful. I've already started creating a list for things for him to fix as I plan on having him come out again. Do yourself a favor and have Jeff help you out. You won't regret it!"

"Overall, the project went very well, We are happy with the quality of the work and the result. The plans were creative, and we were happy with the design selections and guidance. There were a few unexpected changes to layout due to structural constraints, which resulted in a less efficient flow. The cost of change orders were not clearly explained prior to execution. The contractor was very hands on and at the job site extensively, and she was easy to get a hold of. The carpenter was not available to work on the project on Fridays, which did extend the project timeline. The contractor pointed out repairs/improvements that needed to be made to bring the home up to code. This added cost, but was necessary and appreciated."

"I got bids from four reputable contractors, including Roncor. Roncor's price was much higher than every other bid. Roncor assigned a senior sales person, not a carpenter, to spec out my project. The sales person was competent, but Roncor should have assigned an experienced carpenter to inspect my sagging garage roof and determine the necessary repairs.   <br /> Roncor has a good reputation and perhaps would have done good work, but their high price and lack of direct carpenter involvement in the bid process caused me to choose another contractor. <br />"

"After working with another remodeler to build a new kitchen for a couple of months and becoming increasingly concerned about the lack of professionalism, I contacted Vail Builders after seeing them highly recommended on Angie’s List. Jim Vail promptly returned my phone call and set up an appointment to measure the room and to meet with my wife and I regarding our ideas. In just a couple of weeks, Jim had created a set of preliminary plans and the most comprehensive contract I’ve ever seen. Jim is thorough and extremely detail oriented, which is exactly what you need in a general contractor. Jim has high expectations of his subcontractors and is responsive and fair to his clients. I will plan to hire Vail Builders for any and all of my future building needs"

"I had Ikea cabinets that were in awful shape.  They came over and measured and helped with space planning in my kitchen.  He also came to my office to talk about different cabinet options, wood styling, etc.  He was very good with the communication from the ordering process to when they were delivered to when he was able to come and install.  They came and did the whole installation within 2.5 days and the communication was amazing.  He kept me apprised of everything along the way.  He was able to make my current countertops work, which I was really happy about because they were expensive and still in really good shape.  He also did some mold remediation and some plumbing work, which was outside of the scope of work, but certainly prevented me from having to hire a whole other company."

"Approached the entire project very professionally and did thorough job with the work. Available via e-mail or cell as needed, and also they set a schedule using web-based project management tool that automatically alerted you to updates on the project. They would also call to update in addition to relying on the project management portal. Weather prohibited project completion, but they worked late into the season to get main part of it done and will finish the work in the spring (ground work and cement below the deck, and painting). Will be having them quote additional remodeling jobs on the inside of the house."

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Red Wing, MN

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
