"Clay’s always does a thorough, quick and commendable job. The office staff is accommodating when needing to schedule service, the communication regarding the arrival time of the tech is spot-on, the the tech clearly explains what he did, next steps (if any), and will even review the systems performance after previous repair/service. Can’t recommend them enough! (We sign up for the yearly service contract.)"

"Very well. My ownly concern is the cost. Seemed to be to be a little high for the job that was done. Of course I am not that familiar concerning today's prices. Thans for the service."

Replacing an outdoor air conditioner with a high efficiency, consumer reported top rated American Standard unit. Level, wired properly, and completed beyond code and required standards. Thank goodness for a team that cares and loves what they do AND our customers.
Great technicians who have amazing skill and are just good humans too.

"I was very pleased with the service. Immediately upon placing a provider request on Angies List I received a phone call from Brett. I called him back and he answered immediately and came out within a few hours of the call to check out the problem. He notified me of what the issue was and quoted a price of $250.00. Once I approved the work he went about it immediately. Subsequently we called him back for a non-related issue and he went out of his way to come out the same day to make sure we had cooling. He checked the system and determined that it was likely a low refrigerant level. He quoted a cost of $150.00 and he topped off the refrigerant and told me if it did not resolve the problem there would be no charge. He messaged me a few days later to check whether the issue was resolved, which it was."

"I’ve been a customer of Salfi plumbing for over 10 years. With a 3 story 1890’s Victorian house with lots of plumbing parts, we have experienced several plumbing challenges including a lighting strike that blew out my new HVAC system. Salfi has always been availability in a timely manner day and night to help me correct my plumbing issues. Believe me we’ve had several. Burst pipes, leaks onto other floors, backup in our sewer line, several toilet replacements, Sink replacement, gas
line movement, furnace replacement etc. Salfi has always given me peace of mind and fast service when needed. I feel they provide excellent service and have helped me through simple replacements and immediate emergencies. I highly recommend them within a heart beat."

FAQs for central a/c service or repair projects in Rio Grande, NJ

Coils work to absorb heat into the refrigerant that flows through them, moving heat from one location to another. For air conditioning, the evaporator coil inside the air handler in your home absorbs heat. It then transfers the heat outside to the condenser coil, where it releases it. The opposite process happens for heat pumps. When the coils get dusty and dirty, it reduces how well these components work.

Skip regular cleanings, and dirt, debris, and mineral deposits will blanket your evaporator and condenser coils. When that happens, the coils can’t shed heat efficiently, so the system works harder and your energy bill climbs. Over time, overheating strains the compressor and can trigger a full breakdown—an avoidable repair that often costs far more than a simple annual cleaning.

AC coil cleaning is an investment that pays for itself in the benefits it provides. Dust‑caked coils force your AC to run longer, so you spend more on electricity and rack up extra wear. A quick professional cleaning restores efficiency, trims monthly bills, and eases strain on expensive parts. Over the long haul, that small yearly fee delays pricy repairs and stretches the unit’s lifespan, making coil cleaning one of the smartest HVAC tune‑ups you can schedule.

Watch for higher electric bills, rooms that stay warm no matter how low you set the thermostat, or an AC system that runs nonstop. Extra humidity and frost on the coils are also red flags. Catching these clues early lets you schedule a quick cleaning before the system overworks itself and triggers an expensive breakdown.

Your AC cleaning technician starts by shutting off the power to the unit and removing the faceplate. Compressed air and a vacuum hose blast away loose debris, followed by a coil-safe, no-rinse cleaner that dissolves stubborn grime. After the solution has soaked in, the professional wipes the fins, reassembles the housing, and restores power, leaving the system ready to cool at peak efficiency.
