"EveryDry did excellent work for our home. Work consisted of waterproofing a 2100 sq ft basement, which involved digging a new frenchdrain style trench at the foot of the foundation along the uphill sides, installing two sump pumps and related pipe work to ensure the water would exit far from the foundation, and applied structural fiber and water proofing to reinforce the cinderblock walls. Concrete work performed to cover the frenchdrain trench is relatively smooth and even with the existing concrete floor. Combining their work with more efficient downspout management has resulted in a consistently dry basement! Keep in mind there is an annual fee associated with the warranty, which I would recommend. Additionally, the office staff are friendly and efficient. The previous owner had the work performed soon before selling us their home, and the warranty transfer was seamless and easy, a testament to the hard-working staff. I recommend EverDry to any friends and colleagues who are in need of professional waterproofing services."

"Will & Frank were great. They dug up an area from the outside and installed a French drain that went all the way to my backyard fence. No leak with today?s rain! Works splendidly!"

"They came up with a solution to fix our water problem in our basement. Explained what cause the problem. Setup the appointment. They followed up with a call several days ahead of time to let us know what time we should expect the crew. Everyone was very polite and professional. Cleaned everything up. Did a great job and made sure we were satisfied before leaving. A great perk is the warranty of their work."

"I was hoping to see what was installed at every stage of the process. Feel a little in the dark about what is buried underneath the concrete and the process. Could not reach the sales person to ask questions after job was booked. There was confusion about what was to be done exactly. The workers were diligent and helpful wiith moving some of the junk in the basement. Job was done quickly and the areas left clean."

"Tony and his crew were recommended to me by a friend who lives in an older home on Signal Mountain. He did a fantastic job on her floors, and she thought he would do a great job on ours. She was right. We bought a large old home on Signal Mountain, and we were doing the renovation in phases over 18 months. Tony came out and examined the entire job, and I was impressed right away. He was knowledgeable and honest about the issues he found with our house of which there were many. His pricing was reasonable, and I felt immediately that he was the best guy for the job. Tony completely refinished the oak floors in the living room and one guest suite, and they were gorgeous. He matched the red oak to the cherry cabinets we ordered, and the two woods looked fabulous together. In the next phase, he did the oak stairs and oak floors upstairs in the kids' bedrooms. That floor was incredibly uneven, and Tony and his crew did a fantastic job of leveling a 100 year old floor that put up a good fight. By the time the renovation will be complete at the end of the month, Tony will have either installed or refinished almost every square inch of the oak floor of my more than 5000 square foot home. In a couple of weeks, he will install my foyer floor in a herringbone pattern with an oak and walnut border. That will be his final install for us. We are saving the best for last. Tony has been an indispensable member of our renovation team. He and his employees have made our home beautiful, and we appreciate it. We put our trust in him, and our gorgeous oak floors are the result. One word of warning: His singing voice is less than optimal. However, when he starts wailing away to classic rock, you know he's in the groove and working happily. You will be satisfied with the result."

"Our experience with Peek Mold Control couldn't have been better. I reached out to Shary about water and potential mold issues in our basement, and she was here within 48 hours to take a look. She said we'd first need to take care of water proofing, and she recommended an excellent company to do this - they were out to give us a quote the next day. The entire project (new water proofing system + full mold remediation and prevention) was finished within just a couple of weeks of my first outreach to Shary. She was efficient, communicative, and reasonably priced. We now have such peace of mind knowing that our basement is fully sealed and free of harmful mold growth. I would recommend this service to anyone, but especially to those living in older urban homes like ours!"

"They were amazing!! Very responsive and professional. It was really cool that they took pictures during the project. And the work they did was beyond excellent. We’ve already had several hard rains since the work was done and the basement is completely dry. I couldn’t be happier."

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Rome, GA

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
