"We needed to upgrade from electric baseboard heat and window units AC to central heating and air conditioning. Hill-Air was the only company that I contacted that would do a complete installation (duct work, vents, furnace, AC unit, gas line, etc) in and existing structure. From initial analysis of our home, to presenting options, to installation, to final setup, Hill-Air personnel were very thorough, professional and personable. The quality of the installation and products was/is exceptional."

"We had the gas company turn on service to new house. The valve snapped off while turning on to the water heater. We contacted Steve Jones Plumbing to do the work instead of the Home Warranty suggested contractor since we had previous experience. The professional showed up on time and made the fixes. He also resolved a few questions I had about another plumbing question and suggested to repair when needed since it wasn't warranted at the time. Professional. Use and pay these guys. You get what you pay for."

"Out of several plumbers I contracted, Pete gave me a date a week out. Had hoped to get it done sooner, but other plumbers did not show up. Pete kept his appointment and showed up only 30 minutes outside the appointment window. Although he didn't bring any help and didn't have the right shoes for digging a ditch, he got the job done and everything worked. Hourly price was high for one worker plus the service charge."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Ross, OH

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
