"Super responsive and friendly. Did a great job at a very fair price. While running the gas pipe to our fire table, he noticed it was going to run right by our LP generator so he added in a connection there and only charged me for the additional connection hardware. Alan and BJ were a pleasure to work with."

"Mad Pipers did an excellent job on the work! Zack provided the original estimate. He was responsive, punctual, answered all my questions and provided a very thorough estimate of the work we needed done in a timely manner. I took estimates from other companies but Mad Pipers was by far the the most responsive and for the large amount of work we needed done, they were also the best pricing. The job was completed by Zack and Ragen who showed up on time and were very professional. The work itself was a two day job. They made sure to explain everything that was completed. I was very happy with the work they did and as a result asked them back to provide an estimate for some additional (smaller scale) work I needed done on a guest bathroom (replacing old galvanized steel pipes with new copper pipes) and a master bathroom (replacing a popup & drain which was done by Curtis). I highly recommend Mad Pipers! I am so happy with the work they did and would not hesitate to call them again for any plumbing needs."

"Great experience working with Colin on installing a gas line for our kitchen. We got three bids and theirs was almost the lowest but I got such great vibes from Colin it was an easy choice. Looking forward to working with them again!"

"They may be good for business to business, medium to large new construction projects. High operating costs (and high margins?) means higher prices. I do not recommend for a homeowner with an existing single family residence. I needed to replace the galvanized pipe connecting my house to the street for an irrigation project. Between offering the highest bids (before an extra $10k option to install all copper), their nonsensical proposal for an invasive relocation of the line to service the water heater, and their proposal to use an excavator to tear up my yard and remove multiple shrubs and a tree just to replace my water line, I elected to use a different company. I appreciate the business like demeanor, their connections to government and utilities, and that they have the resources to pay for multi year apprenticeships"

"Kyle saved the day for me, fixing a couple of problems on my non-standard cabin plumbing system. He replaced a failing pump and then later diagnosed a completely clogged drain, which necessitated a new gray water drain field. Quotes were fair and accurate, and he had good tips for preventing problems in the future. I rent the cabin to guests, and I appreciate that Kyle was considerate to schedule work with minimal disruption to the cabin’s availability. I have peace of mind knowing I can count on Chaplin’s Plumbing for any plumbing needs."

"Very happy with the entire experience. Got an estimate which was the lowest of the 4 plumbing companies that I contacted for the job. I felt the price was reasonable and pretty close to the price I thought it would cost. The job was done at the agreed upon estimate quote price, no additional cost after the fact. I was able to schedule the job next day. The Plumber was on time and only took him 1 1/2 hours to complete the job. Work was very well done and very happy with result. Cost - $1,339.00 + Tax."

"Called the number listed - this is Terry's cell phone and he answered immediately. I described the problem, he offered to stop by that evening on his way home and I agreed. The external hose bib is kind of "funny" in that it includes a shower control (giving access to hot and cold water to fill kids' pools etc.) as well as a standard hose bib and valve. The problem was that water was trapped in the section of pipe that was between the shower control and the standard bib valve, and it was this water that froze causing the burst.

Terry stopped by as planned, surveyed the situation, and suggested that since the shower control already served as an on/off valve that the hose-bib valve should be removed so that water could not be trapped here. As well he suggested adding insulation between the pipes and the exterior wall so reduce the likelihood of a freeze recurring. All sounded good to me.

He estimated 3 - 4 hours and said that he would be available that Friday afternoon. That Friday morning I left the back door unlocked, he called in the afternoon as planned to confirm, and by the time I got home from work he was just wrapping up and took the time to explain what he had done. Job was well done and under budget, and I appreciate that Terry was happy to make suggestions to improve the situation rather than just fix the immediate problem.

A great experience!"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Sammamish, WA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
