"Went very well. AACH came right out which was desperately needed since today's forecast is pretty high. Nice family run business, 3 generations. They were able to troubleshoot and fix it right away. Ii came out an easy fix with just needing the capacitor replaced. No charge for the service call. I will definitely use this business again for all my HVAC needs. <br />"

"Butch called back right away. Came out in a timely fashion. Got one unit working. Then he said the main board was malfunctioning on the downstairs unit and would have to be replaced. It would cost 1200 or 1300. But if we spent a little extra on a service contract he would wave the trip fee and it would be 1100 something. Okay. We did that. It was too late for him to get the board that day so he came out the next day to install the board. But the unit still didn't come on. He said the thermostat was bad and it would we 300 to 500 to replace the thermostat depending on what we wanted. My husband told him we could do that ourselves. Just by pass it and get the unit working. Then he came down and said that the blower motor was out and it would be 1800 to replace the blower motor or 2400 to just replace the whole unit and then we'd be under warranty again. I told them I wanted a second opinion before we did that. I called Ed & Sons they came out, confirmed that we did need a new thermostat. And said they could rebuild the blower motor for around 100$. I ordered two new thermostats for 300 for both of them and my husband installed the thermostats. The work they did was fine. But I felt like they were more of the school of let's just replace parts until it works or we can sell them a new unit. Rather than what can we fix."

"Excellent service, very fast response to my request for service, picked up laptop, diagnosed issues. Initially thought it was an OS update issue but the hard drive had failed along with other components (including 'CPU). Because other components were involved, a new solid state hard drive was put into a laptop with a working processor - same type CPU as in the failed unit. The laptop was repaired and returned in less than a week. This company picked up and dropped off the laptop (driving from Huntsville, AL (about 60-70 minutes)-- great service in this covid environment. I would recommend this company to my family./friends and will use again."

"Top notch organization! Jon came out during the holiday to diagnose my problem and made quick work of the repair. Unfortunately, something else went wrong later with the system and I decided to replace the entire unit. Jon didn't push me into anything, just gave me the pros and cons for all of the options. AC Pros had Josh and his apprentice come out the next day and the two of them had the job done in a few hours. This is a great little local business that hits above their weight and really knows how to treat the customer. All of my neighbors' homes were built at the same time so when their furnace's hit the skids I will recommend AC pros to all of them. Great job guys!"

"The guy who used to come out and do the maintenance of our unit, used to work for another company. He’s a really great guy. So when he started his own company we switched over to his company. He’s excellent and he’s a really good guy. The people that work there are excellent. They are very honest. They are very nice people and very polite. They are very thorough. They are very professional. If they find something wrong, they take the part and make sure if it’s under warranty and then get the stuff if needed. They are very conscientious. Their price is excellent. They are very responsive. When I call them and if they don’t answer, they call me back. The quality of their work is excellent. I would use their services again in the future."

"They were an excellent company and they replaced two of our air conditioners that broke down at the same time. They gave us a fair price and they did an excellent service. They were great and our interaction with them went fine. They were very professional. I would absolutely recommend their services to a friend or a family member. I did a lot of research and their price seemed fair and very competitive."

FAQs for swamp cooler service or repair projects in San Marcos, TX

A well-maintained swamp cooler can last between 10 and 15 years. Its longevity depends on usage frequency, water quality, and proper care. Regular maintenance, like winterization and protective measures, can preserve your system's efficiency and prevent premature breakdowns, ensuring reliable cooling performance over its lifespan. Hiring a professional to take care of any repairs over your swamp cooler’s lifespan will ensure it’s restored to proper functioning and can help it last longer.

You should consider replacing your swamp cooler if it shows signs of severe corrosion, inadequate maintenance, advanced age, restricted airflow, or ongoing leaks. When repair costs and performance inefficiencies make restoration impractical, replacement may be the best option.
