"The technician that came to the house to provide a estimate was professional and courteous but I would stop with that. It became evident during my first few minutes of communicating that he was not very knowledgeable at all. I called initially to have a gas line run to my fireplace to install a gas type burner to convert my fireplace from real wood to gas. The gas line is on my roof and it was a short run to tap from an existing line to the fireplace. After he scoped the job and took down all necessary information along with picture he proceeded to call me numbers times gathering more information. He even called the company in California where i purchased the burner unit from for more information. I initially estimated the job to cost 500-1000 dollars. I was totally flabbergasted when the quote came in at $1700.00. I called the company in California where I purchased the unit and they were familiar with his call and basically told me to run and find another company to install the line.
To be fair the owner called and wanted to send someone else out but given my first experience I am going to pass.

UPDATE: I had another technician from Reliable do the work and have updated my review. While satisfied with the work that was done there were a couple of mistakes on the quote due to taxes and my Angies list discount which was fixed to my satisfaction. I thought the cost was a bit high for the work performed but thats what happens when you get fixed bid rather than hourly. I felt better with the second technician in the knowledge he exhibited and am please with the completed work. I have adjusted my ratings and other details section above."
