"We had four area companies evaluate and quote the replacement of a gas floor furnace for our mill house. We have been very happy with the performance and lack of blower noise for the furnace, but it is difficult to find a company that still handles them. We got everything from "the city is going to condemn your house unless you do this or that, and you'll need to find another additional contractor to handle some of the work" to "we can't do the job without a large outlay to meet city codes". We were fortunate to contact Dave at AccuAir and he was both familiar with the furnace and was way ahead of the game on how to install the unit to pass the building codes. The team from AccuAir was extremely professional, personable, fast, and neat. The quote was ideal for our budget and the installation passed city inspection without a hitch. It was so great to deal with a company that knew what they were doing, weren't trying to upsell you into something expensive, and did not use scare tactics. We would not hesitate to use AccuAir again, and feel very comfortable recommending them."

"So they canceled installation of my toilets twice. I was very understanding. They came out on the third try. Installed two the third was damaged. Instead doing all they could to complete my job. They left stating they didn?t have time as they had two other jobs to complete. When I asked the installer to call their boss to see if they could complete my job. They got an attitude and slammed their appointment book closed as well as my front door. When they returned they stated I called my boss and they would be calling me and left. This is incredibly unprofessional. So I called and left two voicemails. They didn?t even have the decency to return my call. Instead they sent a text. Stating they couldn?t talk due just returning from the dentist. Stating the installation would be scheduled for the following Tuesday. The installation took place in a Friday. I texted them back requesting it be done the first thing Monday morning. They didn?t even care to text me back. DI NOT hire them. "

FAQs for gas piping projects in Seaside, OR

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
