He brought me fabric samples to choose from, and arranged to pick up our furniture early to get the pieces out of the way while we had our floors redone. He had the pieces completed and returned in the timeframe promised. Not only were they reupholstered with all new cushions, the wood was cleaned and oiled. And the quality of the work is really good. "I've used Mike Dowell's services before and this was another great job. This time my young son had accidentally broken an arm off one of our dining room chairs. Mike fixed it quickly and at a fair price. I dropped off the chair and picked it up at his shop. I don't know anything about wood working or carpentry, but the place was neat, clean, and very well organized. It's an unassuming place and easy to miss -- it's actually a unit within a corrugated metal mobile container in a corner of a recently developed townhouse/ condo development in a corner of Bel Aire on an edge with a state park (state forest?). If you go up some of the back roads coming from Baltimore it's actually a quite pretty drive for some of it - it follows a stream through park and farm land. <br /> In any case, I anticipate calling on Lauer Furniture Restoration again in the future.  <br />"

"We had several estimates from different contractors for our project which consisted of replacing 12 interior doors.  Our house is old and the existing doors are all of different sizes.  Some contractors were not interested in doing this work because it entailed carpentry skills and special tools.  Mr. Prince was willing to take on this project and he came with good reviews. His price was not the least expensive but we felt comfortable having him work on our house.  <br /> Mr. Prince completed the project.  There were a few delays because of the weather but that was understandable.  We feel Mr. Prince was responsive and prompt.  The job was completed and we are happy with the results. I would recommend him to others that have a project that requires professional carpentry skills. <br />"

"The consultant showed up in a prompt manner. She brought her boyfriend. A little odd. But understandable as she stated she was uncomfortable going to strange homes. However, as a customer, it was a little uncomfortable to have this man sitting on our doorstep. The designer was nice. However,I didn't feel that my personal design interests were given much consideration. <br />"
