"My old water heater went out yesterday and of course leaked water all over. I shut it off and stopped the leaking. Called early this morning looking for someone to install a new one. Jim was actually sent over by another plumber who could not get to my job right away. Jim showed up, looked at the job, we talked about the options and he gave me a bid. Let to get the new water heater. We back in about thirty minutes. He had to make some changes to the water and gas lines. Added shut offs and installed new one. Took the time to explain operation and maintenance of the new one. Cleaned up the work site. Removed all debris and old water heater. I was impressed with his work and his attitude.

"Very quick, efficient, and polite. Four companies could not fix the problem and within an hour of evaluating our plumbing system Caleb came up with three possible issues. Laid out everything and allowed us to make the decision. Highly recommended!"

"Ryan was prompt to answer and returns calls. The tech he sent to our home was very respectful and appeared knowledgeable, answering every question I had. He cleaned our furnace well, replaced our filter, and advised us on how to maintain our furnace with regular maintenance practices. Very satisfied with their service."

"Jeremiah originally called to tell me he was out of town on another job and that he was going to be unable to get to me until between 12 and 2pm. Not to long after that he called and told me that he had a cancellation and could be here at 1015 if that would work for me. He showed up at about 1010 ready to go. I showed him to the floor drain, and he spent a bit of time trying to save the drain cover, but when he was ultimately unable to do so he asked if he could break it to get it off. When I told him that would be fine he carefully broke the minimum amount needed to get access to the drain itself, and was done very shortly after that. The majority of the time he spent was in trying to not damage the drain pipe. He only chose to do so after he felt he had exhausted all other options, and gotten confirmation from me that I would be okay with it. Overall I would recommend Evans Rooter Service. The two dings I placed above are in Price and Professionalism. I will gladly admit that I expected to pay significantly more before he showed up, but once he explained the problem and the fact that about half the tools he used were mine (I offered because I felt it would be faster than him going out to his truck and searching), I feel that $60 is a little steep for half an hour worth of labor (though I have not used a plumber in the area before, so I can freely admit that I could be way off base). The ding to Professionalism was simply because after coming in and seeing the issue he came back into the house without the needed tools and had to return to the truck several times in addition to borrowing tools (again, I volunteered those)."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Stoneham, CO

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
