"I hired Neli over a week period for 3 different appliances, my dryer, washing machine, dishwasher, and even kitchen sink! I had a fantastic experience: 1. I fixed my dryer with Thomas' excellent remote guidance, changing the timer and the switch! Fabulous guidance Thomas, with lots of money saved! I learned a lot in the process. 2. I determined that there was no dishwasher leak and in the process learned how to check for leaks and trouble shoot for some common repair issues. It cost $40.00 but as I had some water on the floor, I was ready to get a new dishwasher. Now, I am confident that it wasn't a leak and caused by putting in the dishes in a funny manner and not a repair issue. I am using the dishwasher now again with no problem. 3. I determined with Thomas' help that the washing machine had a major problem and could have spun out of control into my wall....no question, it was time to get a new washing machine! This was a well spent $40.00--I even got Thomas advice on purchasing a new washing machine and what to look for. 4. I checked the drainage on my kitchen sink and learned how to empty out the "trap" and that most likely, I am okay, but what to swap out if I have continuing issues with slow drainage. In the end, I saved lots of money, gaining and learning valuable experience! Absolutely fabulous service!"

"American Appliance Service was wonderful - extremely responsive, communicative, on-time, polite, knowledgeable, etc. Highly recommend. Our serviceman was Vic (I think he's the owner) and he installed a new ice maker in our Samsung refrigerator and installed a new lower heating element in our KitchenAid oven."

"Chris and Manny were great!! I was having a microwave replaced in a rental unit. I dropped a new microwave off with my tenant and Chris worked with him to schedule an installation date. The guys even took it upon themselves to bring me the old microwave when meeting me for payment after the install; saving me a 40 mile round-trip. Will definitely be contacting these guys again when an appliance need arises in the future!!! Thanks Chris and Manny!"

"The plumber installed a new sensor kitchen faucet as well as fixed a toilet that kept running. Neither were difficult jobs for a plumber but it would have taken much longer and a lot of frustration if we tried to do it ourselves.

"I hired American Appliance Repair Services to repair a GE Profile electric clothes dryer. I've used GE to repair other Profile appliances with mixed results and a high price. American Appliance Repair scheduled service two days after initial contact, technicians arrived on time, problem quickly diagnosed and after a quick trip to a warehouse to obtain the defective part the dryer was repaired. The charge was reasonable. I am completely satisfied with the service they provided."

"Very good. They take care of your appliances. They only charge my $75.00 per call, including the parts. They use refurbished parts most of the time. I would grade it basically to an B, I got the best one going according to most people. There is one in Colorado that will covers everything, but they are only located in Colorado. It can also take three days, or five days, it depends on the time of the year. With air conditioning, it can take more in the Summer time, because I am in Florida. Most of the time they are not that bad. The cover most of my major appliances, my washer, dryer, my pool. My daughter also uses the same company, they have done her washer, dryer, and air conditioner."

"This was our first big "redo" in our older home. Tom and Jesse were very easy to work with. Things we really appreciated: Tom was able to meet with us during the evenings multiple times before the start of the project to go over what we wanted, questions we had and updating the design. Jesse would always update us on the status of things and challenges he'd run into. Tom even gave us a referral for help in getting a new hot water heater installed. We liked being able to pick out preferences from the recommended vendors. The list made it easy to contact them. Hours and driving directions were also listed which were helpful. We were able to be involved at just the right amount. Tom would always return phone calls or emails also. The whole project took about 4 weeks including Jesse finishing on a weekend with the final touches. Any corrections (touch up paint, scratch repaired) that were needed were taken care of promptly and efficiently. We were comfortable letting Jesse work while we were away and he was able to manage with our dogs also. I was able to be home periodically on my days off and it was helpful to get updates etc. It was helpful to be home one day when the vanities were being set. The final design was a little different from the original estimate as we'd decided to remove a toilet divider wall to increase vanity space. Tom's price was lower than other estimates we'd received and we liked his style of communication. He never pushed a hard sell and was able to tell us what could be done with the remodel and what couldn't. We were able to maximize the most from the space we have and are enjoying it very much. We feel like we're in a new hotel bathroom! Jesse would go the extra mile with all the little details regarding hardware placement and the height of the shower head and the big things like double checking that drains were working properly etc. before it was too late. We highly recommend them for a good quality job, good communication and an end product you'll love."

FAQs for appliance (major electric appliance) installation and replacement projects in Summerfield, IL

A pro starts by setting the units in place and connecting them to the right plumbing lines, electrical circuits, and, for the dryer, a vent. If the hookups already exist, the job is quick. When they don’t, the installer must add plumbing, outlets, or a vent run, which takes more time and increases the price, especially when the laundry area is located far from existing utilities.

You’ll need the right pros for a tight stacked setup. A natural-gas plumber handles the water lines, drain, and any gas work, while an electrician installs the circuit the dryer needs. If venting or framing changes are required, hire a general contractor to patch the drywall or adjust the framing so that everything meets code and operates safely.

Permanent models need complete plumbing, electrical, and—for dryers—vent hookups. Portable units skip most of that and can run on a standard outlet with a temporary water connection. If your home already has a code-approved hookup, you just connect the new appliances. If not, hire a licensed pro to add the lines and vent so the machines run safely and efficiently.

Relocating a hookup costs between $500 and $5,000, as it may involve installing new outlets, gas lines, vents, and drain pipes. The price increases when the new location is far from existing utilities or requires additional framing and drywall work. Have licensed professionals evaluate your layout, provide a quote for the move, and handle the installation so that every component meets code and works safely.
