"My old hot water heater died, and a friend installed a new small 40 gal tank. But I never had hot water after that. I also had a leaking lead pipe. Patrick came and had to be a sleuth to try to determine the cause of the missing hot water. The tank was too small and not functioning, but the real problem was a crossed pipe somewhere in my 1890 house. He found the pipe location in the basement and put in a shut off valve, which gave most of the house hot water. He also put in a high quality 50 gallon tank, and repaired the leaking lead main. To completely fix the hot water, it will mean opening walls, so we left a small 1/2 bath sink and attic sink to be fixed at a later time (or not....).. This was all around Easter, but he put in long days to get it all done."

"When temperatures dropped to -50 with wind chill, the pipes to our basement bathroom sink froze. And as soon as everything began to thaw, (on Friday night) we found that we had a ruptured hot water pipe. Water was shooting out of the wall all over the bathroom. When it became clear that our usual plumber wasn't going to show up on Saturday, I frantically called half-a-dozen plumbers from Angie's List. Only Charlie got back to me and agreed to show up after his next job. On a day that he was clearly being overwhelmed with calls from all over the city, Charlie kept his word and showed up with his partner Dimitri. They quickly figured out there were no other leaks and repaired the pipe. On top of it, Charlie spotted two other unrelated plumbing issues in our HVAC room. They were minor now but could have turned into bigger problems down the road. His thoroughness and attention to detail allowed him to spot these hidden problems and save us headaches down the road. We had our water working in under an hour (on a Saturday evening!) and he charged a very fair price given the demands upon his time. He left our house at 5pm, his phone blowing up from other customers. I Had them replace three shutoff valves under the sink which were frozen and had small leaks. I asked about cheaper fixes and they advised replacing the whole valves, which was actually what I preferred. They gave a price and it was exactly what I researched as being a good, reasonable price. They were quick and exact and tested all of the valves that they replaced (hot/cold/dishwasher). I have used them in the past and have also used other plumbing services. The other plumbing services that I have used were shoddy at best and not very professional. This service is just what the doctor ordered. I will definitely use this service again.
