"Dory and her daughter are a great team! They stay pretty busy with installing and removing wall paper - so due to that, they may not be able to schedule you quickly. However, I will say it's worth the wait. I'm so happy with the repairs they did and they also do caulking. My kitchen counter was installed in 1985 and the caulk looked old. They re-did it and it looks like brand new. You won't be sorry if you hire them!"

"The first of the 2 rooms, the kitchen, came out OK. It had a standard smoothe finish plaster ceiling. Few things: Outlet cover plate for refrigerator was not removed ( which per contract should give me a $250 refund) but I removed it between 1st and 2nd days. The power cord to the phone was left plugged in and got pain allover it which when i pointed it out they cleaned. Doors were NOT supposed to be pained but the people working in my house didn't know that and painted them anyway! (poor communication). The second room is where the real trouble occurred. I had a very fine sand finish textured plaster ceiling installed. This was painted over and afterwards the fine sand texture could not be seen. It was ruined and has to be redone. I trusted a company who are professional painters to know the proper way to paint a brand new fine sand finish ceiling. When my plaster contractor came out to evaluate the damage he was shocked! Coarser plaster finishes can be painted the way they did, but not a fine sand finish! So it needs to be redone. Otherwise the walls looked nice in that room too. Again the doors were painted and they shouldn't have been. Maybe with improved communication and additional training for their staff they will be worthy of rehire, but I would only let them do simple, uncomplicated jobs."

Drywall feels soft with a hollow sound, while plaster is hard and solid. These checks are especially useful in older homes where plaster is more common.

Painting over it may be a viable option if it’s stuck on and will only come off in pieces. Wash the walls first and prime them with an oil- or shellac-based primer for the best results.

More complex projects involving luxurious wallpaper brands like De Gournay, Calico, and Pierre Frey result in higher installation rates due to the extra work required.
After removing wallpaper, you can dispose of small amounts in your household trash. However, suppose you are removing wallpaper from your entire home. In that case, you’ll need to contact a waste removal service, rent a dumpster, or arrange a special pick-up with your municipality’s waste service. Wallpaper cannot be recycled, so it is important to keep it separate from the recycling stream to comply with local waste guidelines.
