"We had several older double hung windows replaced with much better looking casement windows and a very bad condition bay window replaced as well. Process was smooth, easy and friendly at all times. At no point did I have any worries or concerns about the professionalism of A Pane in the Glass to be in our home and in fact most of the time we left them alone while we went to work. We did not want to go with either of the two companies that advertise on television: the national brand name was too expensive, and the bargain shop had too many complaints about poor workmanship. My husband and I were pleased with the process, from the initial meeting with the genuine salesman Dave who happily revised the estimate as we kept changing our minds, to having my many email questions answered professionally and quickly by Beth, to the owner Allen taking measurements on a Saturday morning, to installer Todd and Casey who did perfectionist’s finishing work in painting, caulking, etc. of the windows. It was nice to trust and support locally owned business that takes pride in their work. Having windows replaced is expensive so you want the job done right for a fair price. "The siding crew did a fantastic job on my house! My siding was completed during the winter holidays which was cold! The first step was a quick meeting with the project lead to walk around and communicate the details or last min logistics. Highly recommend this step for communication and to get to know the project lead and crew. The job took 3 days which I thought was pretty quick. During the process I was communicated with by the office lead Joni with any delays because of weather. Joni was quick to answer any questions by email. The onsite crew was very professional, courteous, efficient and productive. They did a great job making sure the debris was cleaned up and their equipment was organized, safe and with no trip hazards. When they uncovered some walls that needed additional building out, Pat communicated with me on the details, cost and importance of the repair. "NHH Roofing Plus replaced the roof, siding and gutters on our historic cornerstone commercial building in Cambridge. "Fantastic--Alex is prompt and does excellent work. I had all of the very old window screens in my home replaced, including one screen that needed to be made from scratch due to a bent frame. A few years ago, Alex made a new frame for a screened patio door with great results, so I asked him to redo the screens on the windows this year. Alex arrived promptly, removed the window screens, replaced the screens, made a new frame and screen for one window, and then put the window screens back in. He worked efficiently, is friendly, and his price was more than reasonable. "They widened the driveway area by about 6 inches and filled in the space between the asphalt and the new retaining wall with gravel -- a functional and visually attractive solution.  Also, a number of plants we wanted to save adjacent to the top of the retaining wall were dug up and replanted by the Yards of Creativity team during the course of the project. <br /> When doing the work, they were careful to avoid disturbing an existing wood stockade privacy fence located very close to the retaining wall. <br /> The cost estimate was in line with one other one we had obtained, and substantially lower than another one.  We selected Yards of Creativity because of the punctuality and professionalism of the owner, who was very attentive to our needs.  She was on hand for all of the work that was performed, and worked as hard as the rest of her work team.  The constuction site was cleaned up of all debris.  <br /> We did have one issue with the concrete work next to the garage, but that was fixed quickly (within a few days) with no hassle.  The final price was exactly what was quoted originally. <br /> We were quite pleased with the work performed and the end-result is a huge improvement.  The VersiBlock "system" appears to be holding up beautifully this winter, and we understand that it is used by the City of Minneapolis on their retaining wall projects, so we expect that our wall will be functional for decades. <br /> Also, we were able to install a small wought iron railing right into the steps into the back yard -- another good outcome of the project. <br /> <br />"

"Barack, the owner of New Again Deck Renewal, was easy to work with, generous with his time and advice, and extremely fair in his pricing. He is a popular choice on Angie's list so he stays busy during the non-winter seasons and can be hard to schedule if you wait too long. Working through e-mails, I sent Barack photos of the current condition of the deck and he immediately offered me a couple of options - clean and stain or replace the deck planks. I asked him to come and look at the deck in person, so he did. Once he saw the actual deck he advised me to rip off the deck planks and replace them with new cedar. He assured me that the joists beneath the deck were sound. He suggested that I check out his site on the internet to see the recent work he'd done and to get a feel for different styles. "What you like is up to you," he said. "I can do whatever you want but you have to decide the look that you're comfortable with." So, I did that, and he then directed me to check out the Decks Direct site for railing options and prices. Barack sent me an estimate for his part of the project and carefully reviewed my choices of railing hardware. (I ended up spending about $2,000 for the metal railings). I thought Barack's estimate was very fair and, in addition, he gave me a substantial Angie's list discount. I provided a downpayment and we settled on an install date (trying to work between rainy days). I ordered the railing and had it shipped to my house. Everything went great. Barack and a partner were punctual and came and removed the old deck planks in one day and staged most of the new wood. He came back another day with a crew of four to cut and install the new wood and to assemble and install the railing hardware. The deck looks absolutely wonderful. Everything was cleaned up perfectly. We loved the experience. I just wish I hadn't waited so long to have the deck renewed! I highly recommend this company and, yes, I would use them again."
