Grady is the only person (or company) who was willing to take on the job and drive all the way from Pennsylvania to our home in Northern Virginia. There are very few people who do this kind of work anymore (we really searched) and he is an expert in his field. "I received 3 quotes for the work performed and Revive was the middle quote, but better known. I was very pleased with the responsiveness so my emails. Tom worked with me for the amount of work I needed done. The crew was there for 7 days and everyday they were professional and cleaned up. They had a lot of prep work to do, which came out great. Before they finished the job they did all the touch ups and I couldn’t be happier with them. I had my entire downstairs painted to include 6 rooms and a large 18’ foyer. Everything was prepped and painted to include moldings, ceilings and walls also had all my doors and stair rails painted. And some outside stuff. I will be hiring them again for my kitchen cabinets and upstairs bedrooms. I also used them for power washing a 3 story house which came out great."

"I found Gene Lakin on Angie's List and he replied to my inquiry about a price quote on the same day. When he came to our home to do the estimate, it turned out that my father in law was Gene's football coach in elementary and middle school! Upon doing the assessment of the damage, we determined that we had a and quot;double ceilingand quot; in our bedroom -- meaning that the original construction had a plaster ceiling which had drywall hung over it. Gene expressed concern about repairing the drywall without having the area tested for mold since there was probably standing water in between the two ceilings. He advocated for mold remediation with our insurance company and they agreed. He truly went to bat for us! He attended the initial inspection with the mold company as well, removed a small piece of the drywalled ceiling and, in fact, there was mold. Gene visited two days after the mold issue was addressed and gave a final estimate. We scheduled him to begin working the next day. He and a helper did the bulk of the work on Wednesday and finished the job on Thursday and Friday. The ceiling is seamless, the drywall was done without a flaw, the other room he worked on is in great shape as well. I would highly recommend him. <br /> <br /> In addition, Gene goes above and beyond his craft. He offered to bring back lunch from a local eatery when he went to eat, always answered my calls and emails promptly, and was very friendly. He was a pleasure to work with, and we paid for his expertise with no reservations."

"We could not be any happier with the work done for us by MK Remodeling. From the first visit to the house, we knew that they were going to be our contractors. Our house is over 100 years old, and these guys know their way around old homes. From our non-level floors to our non-square walls, they had a solution to make our kitchen look amazing. We didn't come across a single problem that they weren't able to solve for us. When I was freaking out because the refrigerator was too big to get into the kitchen through our narrow doorway, we only heard "no problem, we'll take care of it" from them. And the next day, our massive new refrigerator was in place. They worked with a kitchen designer who came to our home to help us with ideas for the space. She was no additional cost, and made computer generated designs/models so that we could see how the space could look in various arrangements. She helped us pick out our cabinets to get the look that we wanted. This project was a full kitchen remodel. They completely gutted the space to the studs, incorporated a computer nook and a closet to expand the space, built a new closet in a different area, replaced the kitchen windows, moved a doorway, and then rebuilt the kitchen up from the floor to the ceiling. These guys have an eye for detail. There were a couple of issues with the cabinets (door stain didn't look right, one door was broken) that when I asked about it, they were already a step ahead, having noticed it themselves and contacting the cabinet maker to set the issue right. It just meant that in the end, the kitchen looks even better than we could have imagined. We always felt like MK Remodeling had the situation under control. Whether it was work that they were doing themselves or work that a subcontractor (electrician, plumber) that they brought in, it was always professional. We had an unrelated old home issue while they were working, and they were able to help us arrange for their plumber to come and resolve it, faster than we could have on our own, I'm sure. The project cost what they had projected, with only one non-budgeted expense when a wall we wanted removed was found to have radiator pipes running through it. They gave us our options, and in the end we opted to pay to have the pipes moved so that we could have our original design. They started the project only after all the cabinets had been delivered, and the project took as long as they had estimated. Equally as important, they were able to befriend our crazy dog, who looked forward to their arrival and attention each day. They were personable and friendly, and after this experience, we cannot recommend them enough. We will go to them first for any future projects."
