"My damaged wall was rebuilt. The damaged wall was removed. I am very much satisfied with the job. In fact, blocks from the ‘old wall’ were salvaged, because they had a unique style [that is not readily available] A quote from another contractor stated that I would have to accept a rebuilt wall with only standard blocks, no stylized blocks☹️ The work done by Primo Contracting exceeded my expectations."

"Time for an update, I am happy to say I can now give this company better grades on everything.  The manager who never got anything done for us and mostly never called back has been replaced, and the guy they sent to rectify our issues, Eric, did an excellent job and was very knowledgeable and professional.   He was not involved in installing our stove, but I am glad they replaced those people with somebody who knows their stuff.  He gave us our stove knob (yes, we finally got one) but more importantly he immediately recognized the chimney cap issues the other guy who didn't know what he was doing did, and he ordered the parts and came back 2 weeks later and fixed it, so as of last week we are very happy customers.  We also needed a chimney cleaning and Eric did a great job on that too.   Now that they have changed the management and hired people who really know their stuff, we can highly recommend them.

Honestly, I am completely and totally exasperated with this company.   If you want a really professional job, hire true professionals or do it yourself.  If you want a cheaper, adequate job with tons of  frustration and loose ends, use this company.   The top of 2 bricks on my hearth have digs in it from when they put the stove in, they gave us some bricks, but if we want it repaired we have to do the work or hire somebody. My insert is missing it's knob (they NEVER gave us) and we have tried to get for ALMOST 9 MONTHS now, and they are giving us some lame excuse they can't get the part, it is completely and totally ridiculous.  From the start, they were bad, our salesman didn't show up and didn't call for our first appointment and then gave some excuse after we had to call the main office and complain.  It only got worse from there, I have been complaining to my husband the entire time, and he keeps trying to deal with them, but even he had enough (finally) when he wanted them to fix up the crappy job they did on chimney cap, and they give us an $8,000.00 estimate to completely re-build our chimney.  A.  Our chimney does not need to be completely re-built, and that was NOT what we asked for in any way, shape or form and B.  If I ever did decide to have my chimney re-built, there is no way on earth I would ever hire this unprofessional company again.   I am not too thrilled with Osburn either, the missing knob and the fact that the flashing around the stove is terrible and cheap looking.  We have purchased some tiles we are going to install ourselves, or hire a true professional, but we have had enough of these clowns.  If you like playing phone tag all the time, getting excuse after excuse after excuse, unprofessional results and taking lots of aspirin, then by all means ignore this review, otherwise, buyer beware."

"They replaced several rows of broken bricks at the foundation of the house - without jeopardizing the integrity of the wall as well as replacing some bricks by the front door and installing a limestone plate by the door sill. Work was done professionally by Evan's crew within the estimated time and everyone there was very courteous."

"Provider arrived a little early.  He did visual inspection  of the exterior and used a video camera to inspect the inside. He took time to show me what the camera saw on the inside and to explain all of the damage ... and the need for repairs.  He said my chimney was in the worst condition he had seen. It took more than two weeks for him to get back to me with a whopping estimate for repairs. Haven't decided if I'll use him. Stay tuned.

"All I can say is WOW, what great service and they do top notch work.  I had the best experience with James and his company.  Timely, professional and quality work, on time as promised.  I already have a second job for him and will not hesitate to use him in the future nor will I hesitate to recommend them.  Thanks Brick Preservation!"

"Imagine you are in the middle of painting your house and the painter refuses to repair the chimney because it was so bad. I fortunately contacted Specialty. I was given 3 weeks to review by other companies but Nosh not only came that evening, he left to look to match 50+year old bricks AND he was by my house at 7:30 the following morning AND tore down and replaced my entire chimney in less than 48 hours and did a skillful masterful job, (we are not related, I am just super happy to have contracted Specialty"

"Pat (owner) is extremely personable and will answer any questions you may have. I had a question after the work was done and he answered very quickly. Mike and his apprentice were right on time and did a great job. I had to have my chimney rebuilt from the rootline up. I also chose to have a liner installed and all my vent pipes in the basement from the water heater and furnace were brought up to code. The bricks matched perfectly. Everything was hauled away and cleaned up to the point it was hard to tell anyone was there."

FAQs for brick or stone siding: repair or partially replace projects in Warren, MI

Stone veneer isn’t a weekend DIY. Even lightweight faux panels are heavy and must be anchored, flashed, and sealed to keep water out. Missteps can lead to cracked stone, leaks, or injuries. A licensed siding contractor arrives with scaffolding, masonry tools, and the know-how to set each piece safely and neatly, giving you a long-lasting, professional finish.

Stone veneer durability is robust when expert installation and proper maintenance are employed. When installed with precision, regularly cleaned, and sealed as required, stone veneer maintains its integrity for 25 to 75 years. Inadequate installation, however, leads to water intrusion and structural issues that compromise its longevity. Consistent upkeep and adherence to quality installation standards ensure decades of reliable performance.

Covering the entire exterior of a home with stone veneer is feasible but comes with a significant cost increase. Full coverage escalates both material and labor expenses due to the additional square footage required. Many homeowners reduce costs by applying stone veneer selectively—such as around entries, foundations, or architectural accents—while still achieving an upscale appearance and enhancing overall curb appeal.

Installing stone veneer over brick or stucco is entirely possible when the underlying surface is stable and properly prepared. The substrate must be clean, dry, and free of any loose material to support a secure application. Additionally, any areas of flaking stucco or deteriorated mortar must be patched and allowed to cure fully before a professional applies the new veneer, ensuring lasting durability.

Stone veneer siding offers a substantial cost advantage compared to full-thickness natural stone. It costs 25% of the price of natural stone because it is manufactured from concrete and lightweight aggregates. This method delivers the genuine appearance of stone while featuring a thinner profile that simplifies shipping, accelerates installation, and consistently reduces material expenses.

For a 250 square foot exterior area, stone siding installation costs range from $9,800 to $18,000, while installing stone veneer costs between $5,000 and $6,000. This clear cost breakdown demonstrates the significant savings achieved with stone veneer, which uses a lighter construction method that minimizes both material and labor expenses. Homeowners benefit from these lower costs while still attaining the attractive look of natural stone.
