"I was promptly contacted by the company and scheduled someone to come by for an estimate. They came by, as scheduled, and gave us an estimate. Overall, was very satisfied with the company and would do business with them again. The only reason I didn't go through with the service is because I decided that I was going to have the entire bathroom remodeled and it would be a waste of money to have a bathtub that was going to be removed/replaced refinished."

"This was an excellent experience. Manuel scheduled me within for 2 days after I bought the deal, communicated well regarding arrival times, etc., was punctual and did an outstanding job. My tub had horrid rust stains and is now pristine white with the best caulking job I’ve seen (see before and after photos below)! While odor was minimized by the exhaust fan and plenum that Manuel used to exhaust the chemical smells out of a window, some odor lingered, which required opening windows; so, I recommend you book your appointment on a day when the temperature and weather will facilitate open windows vice on a 100 degree day (as I did). Highly recommend this business."

"The owner of Stone Depot, Nick Papas, offers hands on professional service.   I am a realtor, so great service is part of my professional standard and I appreciate it in others.  Nick was always available by phone and was very responsive.  I was nervous about selecting my granite, and I changed my mind at the last minute.   Nick was very gracious and allowed me to select another granite that I preferred. His team arrived for the installation on time and did an outstanding job.  The was a minor issue with caulking, and Nick sent someone out the next day to finish it off.  I could not be more happy with my granite and Stone Depot.  I was advised to personally select my slab of granite - which I did.  All granite is different, so that was good advice.  The location for selection was in Sterling VA, which was great for me since I live in VA.
I also checked out Counter Intelligence, but found the salesman was not very concerned and did not go the extra mile to get my business.  I  had to drive all the way to Silver Spring MD to look at samples of granite slabs.  That was to far to go.  Also, their price quote was higher.  The smaller company atmosphere at Stone Depot was a much better choice for me.  I highly recommend them!

"I hired Mega Kitchen and Bath to remodel my kitchen and bathroom. The process started with the Project Manager, Ibrahim, coming and discussing what I wanted. He gave a detailed account to Katherine, the Designer. Her design gave me everything I needed- plenty of storage in the kitchen. My budget was small, but they stayed on budget and provided quality and stylish materials-kitchen cabinets, backsplash, countertops, sink & flooring. Bathroom tub, tile surround, flooring and accessories. Grober, Johnny and the tile guy are master craftsmen. They did an excellent job, meeting every repair challenge and putting up with me. I am very happy with this company. Hope to work with them again."

"Our house needed work. We had three bathrooms and a kitchen that were updated in the 80’s and they were falling apart. We wanted KitchenMaid cabinets. We’ve used them in our other houses and we’ve always been happy with the quality. Kitchen and Bath Depot includes KitchenMaid as one of their lines and we scheduled a meeting with them. We started our process only telling Kitchen and Bath depot about two bathrooms we wanted to remodel. We figured we would try them out and if things went well, we would continue with them. The designer was great. She listened very well and everything was well documented. The price tag was a little higher than we hoped but we signed and left the building feeling confident with our purchase. From the first day that the team showed up we knew we picked a good company. The project manager communicates well (using any method you prefer). The construction lead and his team were also great. They were there EVERY DAY. I don’t think I can stress enough how great that feels knowing the guys are showing up EARLY and every day. The company does a great job of keeping things clean. Communicating any problem or change. Any “problem” we found included everyone and we always came up with a good solution. Both bathrooms are wonderful. The construction is great but their finishing with the tile and paint is just as fantastic. Things went so well we decided any doubts we had with the cost were worth it. We signed up to have the third bathroom and kitchen remodeled. The process was exactly the same as the first. A couple of new guys for the kitchen and they were great to work with too. Except for one day where our floors needed to cure, they were in our kitchen and/or bathroom EVERY DAY. Would we use Kitchen and Bath Depot again? Yes Would we recommend them to others? Yes"

"All communications with the business owner Jose Sosa were through Angie's List and text message. Communications responsiveness was good. Jose discussed options with me every step of the way. Sosa is a small business, so his approach was not like a large contractor. I was somewhat uncomfortable with his approach early on, but I took a chance and am very happy I engaged Sosa for this work. Shout out to the tile installer Pedro, who did a fantastic job installing the tile. I worked with the designer recommended by Sosa. I was happy with their expertise and they had a very large inventory of tile and vanities from which to choose. I purchased the materials using Sosa's business discount. Sosa picked up the materials when necessary according to his work schedule. The bathroom was a standard single family house bathroom. We will very likely engage Sosa to remodel our master bathroom which is roughly three times the size of our standard bathroom."

"This was a purchase of tile for the main bathroom (second of three bathrooms that needed complete reno). I am very fussy - want tile made in the U.S., want a certain look, and don't want beige. That makes it hard to find tile in my price range. Jud had a line that no one else in the area carries - McIntyre. I went over to look and found something I really liked. Overall the price was OK but the decorative pieces were super-expensive. We decided to take the plunge.
FYI, they have a nice selection; none of it is inexpensive.
We worked with Holly who was extremely nice and patient but I didn't have confidence that she really knew much about tile. As with the other high-end store we'd worked with for our downstairs bath, I ended up doing all the calculations myself. Very nerve-wracking when you are talking about custom tile and thousands of dollars.
Like the other high-end place, they charge for delivery which I find to be super-chintzy.
We did have one small problem (not Jud's fault) and Holly very promptly tried to resolve it for us but it turned out that the manufacturer doesn't make the kind of corner piece we needed. Also, our contractor was worried that the decorative pieces should not be used on the floor (big panic!) and Holly was able to get the answer from the manufacturer within a couple of hours.
All's well that end's well - the tile is gorgeous and our contractor was able to come up with a very creative solution for the two corner pieces.

FAQs for bathtub liner or shower surround installation and replacement projects in Washington DC, DC

A bathtub liner is a custom, one-piece shell that slips over your existing tub to hide cracks, stains, and chips. Most are molded from tough acrylic or PVC and can include a matching wall surround for a complete facelift. When a pro bonds the liner in place, you get a watertight seal, a fresh look, and an added layer of safety—all without tearing out the old tub.

After a tech measures your tub and orders a made-to-fit shell, installation takes a day. The installer cleans the surface, applies industrial-grade adhesive, and positions the liner in place. They trim the edges, tighten the drain, and run a smooth bead of silicone caulk to lock out moisture. A quick plumbing check wraps things up, leaving you with a ready-to-use tub by the next morning.

You can pick preset sizes or order a liner molded to your tub’s exact shape, then choose from dozens of colors, patterns, and finishes to match—or refresh—your bathroom. A pro trims and fits the shell on-site, so every contour lines up and accessories like grab bars or shelving land exactly where you want them.

If the liner’s material accepts a fresh coating, a professional can sand it, apply epoxy, and restore the shine in six hours for $480. Swapping in a brand-new liner runs $800 to $1,000 and takes a day or less. Refinishing is the wallet-friendly route when the shell is structurally sound, but it won’t last as long as starting over with new acrylic.

Most liners last three to five years. High-quality acrylic, a snug professional fit, and routine cleaning help you reach the upper end of that range. If moisture seeps behind the shell, mold and odors can shorten its life, so keep an eye out for loose caulk or soft spots and call a professional if you spot trouble early.
