"So glad we found this company! We had a few estimates and Tankless Concepts was by far the most knowledgeable and professional with reasonable prices. They were able to explain every aspect of the job to get the correct system and installation for our home. When it came time to install the team was super friendly and helpful and they were able to make on-site adjustments to help us get everything just right. We are very happy with how things turned out and would absolutely recommend for anyone considering having a tankless water heater."

"We were overcharged for labor and installation. In addition, the technician tried to charge us for 1.5 hours of work when he was only there for an hour, at best. After we purchased the toilet from Lowe's and bringing it home for installation, Uneeda plumbing tried to charge us over $600 for less than an hour of work. Uneeda has taken longer than 2 weeks to provide the refund. This was once a reliable company. We've used them in our home on multiple occasions to do many jobs. We will look for a new company at this point."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Washington DC, DC

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
