"I worked with Chizum and had a great experience. For my work, he requested a few photographs instead of sending someone out to have a look. He wanted to be sure that the bluish pipe entering the house was not the type that should be replaced before the work was done (it wasn't). He explained that they would not guarantee their work if it was and that they do not do the replacement work anymore. He was very thorough and knowledgeable - super helpful! Chizum estimated the work would take one hour (which it did exactly) and that if the pipe turned out to be the wrong kind he would not charge "a huge amount" for the service call. I plan to use IPS going forward!"

"I couldn't be more happy with these guys! They have superb integrity. My furnace was not blowing heat into the house and I told them that a previous contractor had told me a year ago that the blower was on its last legs. They could have easily "replaced" this and charged me for it, but instead they diagnosed the problem as a plugged sensor, cleaned it, and the furnace started blowing just fine! All for only the price of a a service call. <br /> <br />Your should hire these guys! <br /> <br />"

"Jeff and his crew were very professional.  They responded with the proposal in a timely manner.  On the day work was to begin, they were on time.  They did an excellent job.  They cleaned up after themselves and were very patient with our questions. We sailed through the inspection without problems.  I wish all contractors were this good. <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Wellington, CO

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
