"Clayton was understanding of the emergency of replacing the water service pipe since we were without water for several days. I was charged less than some of his competitors might have done. In this emergency situation he was very reasonable, he was reliable and on time and he completed the work in one day. Clayton brought a young man with him to repave the concrete sidewalk and his work was also blemish free. Clayton addressed my question and concerns in a professional manner!"

"The old well above-ground water pump stopped working and they responded promptly with a submersed replacement. The old piping was pulled from the well and replaced with new piping and power cable. The old water filter holder was difficult to use and not secured well; they replaced it, relocated it to free up basement space and fastened it securely to the wall. The pressure tank was also moved to a better location to free up space. The plumbing and electrical were re-routed. The pressure switch and pressure gauge were replaced. They were very cooperative and accommodating to my suggestions and wishes. The cost was reasonable."

"Perfect! Prime Plumbing answered on my first call and scheduled plumber to come out and inspect job and offer quote. I accepted immediately and the scheduled the job for exactly when I asked. The plumber, Donald, who came out to inspect and quote the job also did the job. He installed a new natural gas line and manifold, set up the pressure test for the county inspector, hooked the line up to BGE's meter after they ran the outside line, and then connected our new gas dryer and vent to the outside. He also supplied and installed a new sanitary sink and water supply and waste lines in our basement. His work was perfect! The price was very fair and competitive. Their office staff is friendly, helpful and answers the phone immediately. We will use Prime Plumbing for all of our future needs and they have our highest recommendation."

"<p>I've owned 3 old homes over the last 28 years.  This was my best experience - ever - with any contractor.</p> <p>When you hire All Steamed Up to work on your heating system, you get partners Frank and Gordon - they have no other employees.  These guys have a wealth of knowledge gained from decades of hands-on experience at troubleshooting, repairing and replacing heating systems, which is more relevant to me (as a homeowner) than mixing in time spent running a large business.</p> <p>Both Frank and Gordon are thorough, thoughtful, honest, conscientious, resourceful, funny, courteous, knowledgeable and humble - and they're perfectionists about their customers' systems.  I could add to that list, but they're simply great people and just the kind of folks you want to work on your home.</p> <p>Also, they?re not out to pump up the price of a contract by installing components you don't really need.  They're interested in getting your heating system working properly at minimal cost.  I got estimates from 5 companies.  4 of them proposed brand new boilers, but not Frank.  He took one look at my 9-year-old Columbia boiler and told me I didn't need to replace it because it was still a current model - that he could simply swap out the oil burner with a new gas burner.</p> <p>Frank's honesty and knowledge saved me $2,600 to $4,300 compared to the other estimates.  Plus, the price included a new interior 25? gas supply pipe that the other estimates didn?t.   And Gordon's valve upgrades are top-notch, maximizing system flexibility and minimizing future service costs.</p> <p>Frank and Gordon gave me value, quality and the peace of mind that comes from knowing my heating system is in the best hands out there.</p> <br />"

"This guy is awesome!!! He showed up on time and worked hard. He was friendly and communicated all that he was doing. He had a sense of humor too. I teased him that he couldn't be a proper plumber since I didn't see butt crack. He offered to drop his pants a bit. No thanks!!! We all laughed. <br /> We had leakage issues in basement and really strange pipe arrangements. He ripped out the strangeness and replaced it with clean, straight connections that are properly fixed to walls and ceiling studs. It turned out that previous owners had installed the wrong type of PVC pipes on the hot water lines. That's why it leaked if you looked at it crosswise. We now have the correct piping and basement is dry and pretty. And I can run hot water to laundry without buckets on floor to catch leaks. Yippee! <br /> Would I hire this guy again? Oh yes!!! When we're ready to rebuild basement bathroom next year, this is the guy I'll call. <br />"

"Jim Hobbs came out to provide the initial estimate for installing the gas line to the fireplace.  He was prompt and very efficient. I received the estimate by email the next day.  While he  was on the premises, I asked him to look at my furnace air supply and exhaust because they were too close to the ground and in big snowstorms they would become covered and cause the furnace to shut down. <br /> The job was completed when installers were ready for the gas line.  This was all coordinated between the contractors.  HGH installed two cut off valves which provides an extra measure of safety since the one cutoff valve is under the fireplace and not easily accessible when the fireplace is running.  Furnace vents were raised at the same time so I e was on the premises I expect a trouble free winter next year. <br /> The overall experience with HGH was seamless and efficient. <br />"

"Our house is about 100 years old and had the original galvanized piping which corroded over time with poor water pressure. We sought 4 quotes from Angie's A rated plumbers. Though Abbott's was not the cheapest, we determined they would bring the best value based on how the estimator, Richard (who was also the plumber who did the work) communicated his plan and recommendations and our perception of his experience using copper tubing (our preferred, but costlier piping material). Like the lowest priced plumber, he quoted the same brand water heater that many plumbing companies use, but we preferred the Rheem brand and he was the only plumber who offered it. Abbott Plumbing, and Richard did not disappoint us. He showed up on-time on the day the plumbing was to occur. He worked very hard with his helper to remove the old galvanized piping and his copper tubing and soldering connections were of excellent workmanship. Copper tubing was installed throughout the basement, to the first and second level of the house connecting the sink, dishwasher, laundry tub, bath, shower, and toilet. He installed a connection for the refrigerator ice maker, and attached hose bibs on the front/ back of the house, while connecting new piping to the water heater. Though water needed to be turned off and on during the 3 days, Richard was polite and considerate of our needs for water while we were living in the house. He and his helper made sure to clean up after themselves, and the result is that we have excellent water pressure, and pure water as he also installed a whole house filter at the source of water supply. He gave us a 1 year warranty on the work, and 6 years warranty (parts only). We are very pleased to say the least, and would recommend Richard and Abbott Plumbing to our best friends. He's going to give us a quote on our drains now, which also need replacement. <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Woodbine, MD

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
