"Had a 15 year old gas tankless water heater that wasn't firing up. Other guy was telling me it needed to be replaced and was looking at 4,000 dollar bill. Called A & C and Chris found it was a flue issue and fixed the leak. Haven't had a problem since. Very professional and trustworthy. Highly recommend these guys"

"Perfectly! I was delighted again with the professionalism brought to the job (Ryan did the service today). He arrived right on time and got the job done very quickly. He kept the work area clear of debris and made sure to take away all trash when he finished up. I definitely will be using them again if I need any plumbing work!"

"The serviceman arrived and completed an assessment of the situation. Determined the circulator was bad and fortunately had a spare on his truck - saving me a great deal of time. He had to drain the system and then refill it with fresh water - this was messy and wet - but he did a good job controlling the mess and we vacuumed up the overflow.
"

"we were looking for a new company when I saw Brooks has good reviews and a coworker said he knew someone worked in the other part of their business,, I called set up the appointment, staff was nice and set up the date and time, I was not there but someone was and the Tech I talked to on the phone and gave the go ahead to perform the Repairs.I believe he did very well and was very professional. when I returned there was no paperwork, I also checked the heater to see if indeed the sensor was replaced which it was but noticed the filter had not been changed out and it was dirty, I thought it should per our new service contract so I called and the lady said they could send one out, I told that would be fine or when the tech is in the area to drop it off, paper work I did received it's vague not really a contract of sorts or knowing what's included. i did not call back and went out and bought a filter myself. The reason I am leaving a C is because of the Filter that should have been included in the price of the new service contract.
"

"Erickson plumbing took our "partially" roughed in bathroom space in our basement and completed the plumbing for the new bathroom. They also laid a new shower pan and drain for the new shower. They did a fantastic job -- working quickly and completed the job thoroughly. When the previously roughed in pipes (not by Erickson) started to leak when we first turned the water on to the bathroom, Ken came out right away and fixed the problem for no charge (it was not even his piping that was leaking). He also came back after we had installed the toilet and vanity/sink and checked our plumbing connections for no extra charge. Also, when he came to run the shower pipes and discovered that the existing bathroom framing was not square, he called a contractor friend who was able to immediately send someone at a reasonable price to fix the framing so that he could continue working as planned. He is now our go-to plumber.
"

"Jim Hobbs came out to provide the initial estimate for installing the gas line to the fireplace. He was prompt and very efficient. I received the estimate by email the next day. While he was on the premises, I asked him to look at my furnace air supply and exhaust because they were too close to the ground and in big snowstorms they would become covered and cause the furnace to shut down.
The job was completed when installers were ready for the gas line. This was all coordinated between the contractors. HGH installed two cut off valves which provides an extra measure of safety since the one cutoff valve is under the fireplace and not easily accessible when the fireplace is running. Furnace vents were raised at the same time so I e was on the premises I expect a trouble free winter next year.
The overall experience with HGH was seamless and efficient.
"

"We've had Abbott Plumbing in a few times, so I'm going to describe our last two visits.
I was looking into replacing some faucets around the house. Abbott's estimator came and told me that it would make more sense for me to do that work myself as I had adequate skills and explained the process. When I went to do the replacements myself, I was able to do the work as described. However, when I got to my final faucet, my shut off valve, which had a plastic handle, broke off in my hand - remember that's an existing condition, not something that Abbott did. This was on a Saturday. I immediately called Abbott and they were able to get someone to my house that same day and install new shut off valves on copper pipe. Great service, friendly and experienced plumbers.
Our most recent work we replaced our kitchen sink. I purchased the kitchen sink on-line. Abbott came over and installed it with no problems. I wanted to reuse the existing faucet, but it was in very bad condition - really bad, it was already leaking, but I was trying to same money. The plumber had an appropriate faucet available in his truck. I checked online for the cost and they did not mark it up and installed it for a very low additional fee. The sink installation involved repiping the sanitary lines under the sink which were completely crazy and unclogging the sanitary line, which couldn't be done previously due to the crazy plumbing.
I work in construction and know how much plumbing services cost. Abbott Plumbing costs are in line with industry standard and perform high quality work. They are professional, call ahead, are on time, and clean up after themselves. I am still really thrilled that they were able to come out on a Saturday and that they respected my ability to do some of the work myself instead of trying to get the sale.

"

"We had a plumbing emergency the evening of 12/26. We called a company which came out and took care of it that evening and said someone would be out to run a camera thru the line. They did that on 12/29 and left an estimate of the cost to excavate, remove and replace the line. That day we looked on Angie's list for some companies to call for second opinion and found Edgar Plumbing. Left a message and Mr. Edgar called first thing the next day. He was very willing to talk with me and I recounted our problem and the results from the camera being run thru the line. He asked very specific questions in order to more fully understand events leading up to the initial problem and what had been done. He asked if the other company had given us a copy of the video and when I said no, he explained that it was their practice to give one to customers so they would have it for their records. Although he said that since I had seen the video when the first company ran the camera, he did not need to do it again. However, I explained that despite him having to charge us , I still wanted his to do his own video and we set it up for12/31. He and his associate arrived about 10 minutes early. He explained exactly what they would, put cloths down to protect the floor and proceeded. Throughout the video, his associate and Mr. Edgar explained exactly what we were seeing and answered all of my questions. Mr. Edgar was very professional and took me outside to show me where our sewer line ran and how they would go about the replacement if hired. He and Bob (who ran the camera) were very helpful and reviewed the findings with me and their recommendation. They were very careful in the house and left the area as clean as it had been when they arrived. Mr. Edgar said he would email me an estimate probably Friday but it came on January 1. Everything in the proposal was exactly as he had described it to me. After thinking about the 2 proposals, we decided to go with Mr. Edgar even though he was a little more expensive than the other company. I felt very comfortable having his company do this major job for us because he listened to what I said, addressed my concerns, was willing to take whatever time I needed to understand all that was involved. We notified him of our decision and he immediately let us know that he would line up the inspector, talk with Ms. Utility and get the permit along with talking to the person he used for excavation work. In addition, he sent a letter thanking us for giving him the opportunity to work on this. The work was completed on 1/14/2015 and we were not disappointed. They arrived earlier than the appointed time, protected our lawn as much as possible and did a wonderful job from beginning to end. They were polite, professional and did a yeoman's job in making sure they put all the soil back and tamped it down. In addition, they seeded, laid straw and raked the lawn to assure it was as level as possible when they left. Mr. Edgar came the next day to rake and clean up more dirt and put gravel down on the 2 sections of our sidewalk that had to be removed. I cannot speak more highly of the great job his company did and we will definitely use him again and recommend him to anyone who needs plumbing work done. I greatly respect his business practices utilized throughout this project. It is very difficult today to find providers that are prompt, professional and take pride in a job well done. I consider us very fortunate to have found him!
"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Abingdon, MD

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
