"We had an emergency on the fourth of July weekend where we had a water leak and our main water line shut off was not working. Anthony came right out and took care of it for us. He then returned a few day later to complete more repairs we needed. We plan to use him again in a few weeks to add a new gas line and garbage disposal."

"There wasn't anything that we disliked about them. I felt very comfortable with the men that they sent, with the job that they did, and they worked full. The big deal was half day of labor, or something, and they finished the first part of it, and started on something else, which was good. We had them come back to do something else. There was a little bit of a misunderstanding on the second part of the job, and each group thought the other group was coming, but we ironed that out."

"Our kitchen remodel involved installing new cabinets, granite countertops, tile backsplash, under the cabinet lighting, refinishing wood floors, performing some relatively minor plumbing and electrical work, installing a new gas range, new microwave, and two new wall ovens, and re-installing our existing dishwasher and fridge.  Overall we are very pleased with our experience with this company.  We primarily worked with Randy, who is in change of sales, Elizabeth, who was the designer, and Rex, who coordinated the renovation.  We had very little contact with Paul, the owner.  Everyone we worked with was extremely professional.  We were especially impressed with Elizabeth, who did a great job listening to what we wanted and designed a kitchen that is both beautiful and functional and fit exactly with the style of our home and our tastes.  She made the process of picking out cabinets, granite, and tile so easy, and her attention to detail made a big difference.  The venders that this company uses are all excellent.  All of the workers that came to our home were respectful, professional, clean, punctual, and talented at their craft.
The remodel itself took about 5 weeks to complete.  We liked how the company uses a detailed online calendar to communicate what will be worked on each day.  We also liked how this company has a cleaning lady come and dust out the cabinets and clean up the kitchen at the completion of the project.  Any large home remodeling project will have its' problems, we only had a few bumps along the way.  There were some spots in the wood floor that needed to be refinished, and a couple cabinets that needed adjustments, and our kitchen faucet needed to be fixed - these were all taken care of in a timely manner and to our satisfaction.  We also experienced a discrepancy in the final invoice (just like a previous reviewer experienced), but this was corrected after we pointed it out.
Overall, we are very happy with the results and we would definitely recommend this company for any remodeling project.

"Called about leak Sunday morning. Plumber came out Monday, determined it needed replacement and notified Choice, who approved claim and permitted plumber to order new water heater. Thursday new water heater was installed. Was kept updated every day by both Choice and the plumber. Workers left my garage clean and I have hot water. Very satisfied and have recommended Choice Home Warranty on the Nextdoor app."

"Tony was professional, friendly and prompt. We had water leaking (unknown source) into unfinished basement. He did thorough inspection, answered all questions(I had a ton) and provided reasonable solutions. Work was done exactly as stated and on time . We are very pleased and plan on using Tony in the future. Cannot recommend highly enough"

"Building Pro was the 4th contractor I got a quote from. They were not the cheapest. When they were supposed to come out and do the work they had to call and reschedule days ahead. When they finally came out and did the work I looked inside when they had the BR tile up and was disappointed because the color was way darker than the sample provided. The contracter took the sample outside and said yeah it looks lighter out here. Pretty much had to stick with it. I would suggest going a shade or 2 LIGHTER than your sample. I wish I was told this at the time of consultation.
The work they did was good (Besides what I bring up below). I can't complain except for the miscommunication on the shower door. They installed a frosty glass door and I wanted Clear. The invoice did state frosty but we never even went over types of glass door on the day of consulation. I had to repay for a clear glass door ($250)
I took a bath last week and noticed that there is missing caulk/sealant between the Tile and the Tub which I will have to contact them to come out to redo that.
Overall it looks good. It isn't cheap. I think the communication could have been better. They do give a good thourough quote compared to others.

"It went extremely well.  The finished product is awesome.  Shawn has worked on many projects for me since 2009 including installing a new shower, putting in a French drain, repairing my deck and many repair jobs.  This project turned out beautifully and exceeded my expectations.  Shawn is very pleasant to deal with and goes out of his way to help with any problems you may have.  The people who work for him also do very good work.  He is very knowledgeable of all aspects of building and home repair and I would highly recommend him to anyone interested in repair or remodel."

FAQs for water main install, replace or repair projects in Lexington, MO

If you notice puddles or standing water in your yard, a sudden drop in water pressure, cracks forming in your foundation, frequent clogs in your plumbing fixtures, or water that looks or smells unusual, you might have a leak in your main water line. These signs mean it's time to call a professional to evaluate the issue and prevent further damage.

A professional water main inspection is a comprehensive evaluation performed by a licensed plumber who checks every section of your plumbing system. The inspection costs $165 and uses advanced diagnostic techniques to identify hidden leaks or wear. This service clarifies the exact condition of your water main, enabling precise repairs that prevent future damage and ensure the overall health of your plumbing system.

Protect your water main by scheduling a cleaning and inspection every two to five years. The average cost of a sewer line cleaning is $400. It’s also important to never dig in your yard without first calling the dig line (811) to ensure you don't accidentally hit the water or sewer lines. Watch for soil erosion, low water pressure, or wet spots in your yard, and take immediate action if you suspect a leak. Remember, the longer you leave it, the worse the problem gets and the more costly it is to fix.

When properly maintained, your water main is engineered to remain functional for 50 years or longer. A durable water service in excellent condition should consistently perform without major issues for half a century. In contrast, metal pipes exposed to acidic soil corrode faster, whereas modern plastic pipes resist corrosion and function for decades beyond metal alternatives. Regular maintenance and inspections are essential for confirming your system’s longevity.

No, homeowners insurance does not cover the cost to repair a water main. Insurers fund only sudden, unforeseen events like a burst pipe and exclude gradual issues or normal wear and tear. Damage resulting from leaks, such as mold remediation or property claims, is not covered. It is essential to contact your insurance provider immediately to confirm your policy’s details and any potential adjustments needed.
