"They didn't charge me an arm and a leg. They found an easy fix for my issue and was very up-front with me about everything. He also didn't treat me like an old lady, which I really appreciated."

"I had JTP plumbing come out to clear my sewer drain on Thursday and on Friday I was still having issues. They came out immediately and took care of of it by running the camera and re-snaking the drain. I would highly recommend JTP plumbing again to everyone. These guys are the best."

"It went well! The men were extremely professional and kind. I was doing work outside and if their stuff accidentally prevented me from moving around they moved it and apologized. I let them know we were trying to upgrade the home and that there was a small gas leak downstairs but it wasn’t enough to be harmful to one’s health and they put in a new gas pipe and changed the rusty valve on my water heater (that they noticed on their own) and fixed that too without additional cost!! If they quote you a price and more work needs to be done, there are no hidden fees. They just do the work for the quoted price. They are so wonderful!! I wouldn’t go with any other company!!"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Omaha, NE

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
