"1) No problem installing new toilet. 2) Hard to install, because the old shower filter did not come out in one piece but many pieces had to chiseling out the old filter (too old & stick). 3) Old tub floor drain, was a  bear plus. It was very rusty and did not want to be moved. With extra muscle, sweat & tears with lubrication & heavy equipment came success. <br /> Thank you very much, Steve, well done !! <br />"

"Initial installation went without difficulty.  The actual price was $150 more than the quoted price. The installation required 2 visits afterwards to fix the subsequent problems.  <br /> 1. There was a very apparent gas leak after installation that was taken care of the same day. The cleanup after the installation was less than stellar with attic access being left open, lights left on, and screws on the garage floor. <br /> 2. After shutting off the main gas line they failed to restart the pilot light on the second water heater.  <br /> The second issue was only found out after I had scheduled them to install a second new water heater. The problem obviously wasn't the water heater itself but they had shutoff the gas main. This would all be ok except for the amount of attitude I received for having them come to restart the pilot light. I'm not a plumber or a gas expert; the issue may be obvious to a professional but I am not. I really did not appreciate this and will not use them for future gas/plumbing work. <br />"

"The tech, Ramon, was very knowledgeable and did a fantastic job, although there was a slight problem after he fixed the 2 leaks and installed new water lines. The other problem occurred after he turned the water back on and another part of the older pipe burst open causing an even bigger water leak which the water to the entire park had to be shut off until he had repaired the water line that was old & brittle (which is why the pipe burst after the water was turned back on). He replaced & repaired the major water line and suggested that I have the rest of my water line from the water meter to my mobile home replaced both because of the smaller water line and because it was old and would probably spring another leak before long. All-in-all he performed a masterful job and was very professional and punctual in sealing all the leaks and installing new piping where necessary. I would definitely hire him again and have set a tentative date for around February or March 2022 to have the water line from the meter to my home replaced. Highly professional job and highly recommended."

"If I could James (the owner) ZERO stars I would. Contacted him through home warranty service for an emergency plumbing repair as the expert plumber who could scope the line and detect the location of the leak that was causing sewer water to run under several floors in the house. He did not scope the line. Instead he said we had to demolish the wall where he expected the leak to be, then he would return. We demolished all walls where he said it would be and texted him pictures in the wall. He was supposed to return on Saturday morning. Then it became sometime Saturday. Then it became Sat or Sun. Meanwhile, water was still destroying more and more of the house. Then he ignored all calls and texts. (None were rude!) On Monday, we were finally able to contact him and he said he no longer wanted to do the repair. We lost a several days trying to stop sewer water from infiltrating our home. This is absolutely disgusting and all he did was complain when he first arrived that he wouldn't get paid enough to fix the problem. Definitely avoid this company!"

"I had called 8 am Friday 9/15/17 and was told would be out between 11 am-1 pm. 1 hour after I called got a call that the plumber would be there within the next hour. Mike showed up about 45 minutes later (at least 1 1/2 hours early). I guess due to hurricane Irma, service was fast. The office calls the customer ahead of time when the Tech is heading to your service address. Mike diagnosed the problem immediately. When our kitchen was remodeled, the person who did the plumbing under the sink cut the pipes too short and they were lose. Mike re-cut the pipe and secured the other pipes. So far no leaks. Mike was here for no more than 45 minutes. He was very polite and did an excellent job. If I ever have another plumbing problem, Dunstan & Sons Plumbing from Leesburg, FL would be the only company I would call. Very trustworthy and professional company. Payment options are Cash - Credit Cards - Check."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Altoona, FL

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
