"Our gas water heater failed on a Friday night. Waking up Saturday a.m. to water in our basement wasn't a pleasant experience. We placed several calls and Quarry Hills was the only company to return our call. Michelle was very helpful with locating the same water heater within a short time frame as the gas heater that failed was still under warranty, to our surprise. She promptly scheduled a tech to our house by 1 p.m. the same day with the new water heater in tow. Seth was very knowledgeable and worked efficiently to get us back up and running. They were straight up with the cost and didn't exceed it when finished with the job. Rebecca followed up with a call to check in on our experience with Quarry and confirmed that they'd forward any warranty information upon receipt. Very professional from start to finish! We won't hesitate using them again for any future issues we may have. "

"Extremely happy with Sila technicians that came to install the gas piping for our outdoor grill. They were professional, explained everything in detail and I am very satisfied with the overall experience I had with Sila. Highly recommend their services and will definitely be using them again for future work."

"Ray quoted a replacement natural gas steam boiler at a price well under what both Boston Standard and Sila quoted me. Well under meaning close to 20% less. Ray is very responsive by phone and he shows up when he says is going to. Ray had done maintenance on our old boiler prior to this complete replacement. He actually performed maintenance on our old steam boiler, unlike when Boston Standard and Sila did maintenance they would simply turn it on and made sure it fired up. When Ray came and did maintenance after the 4 years we had both Boston Standard and Sila maintain our boiler he disassembled and cleaned out the incoming piping, replaced the glass water tube level, added a skimming drain, skimmed the boiler, etc. The prior 2 companies never did that level of work and it was in bad shape. In addition, not many technicians have knowledge of steam boilers these days even though they are still quite common in New England homes. Back to the new replacement boiler that we just had completed. Ray did a fantastic job on the installation. I really couldn't ask for better service. He was timely and efficient (we had our heat back on the same day), explained everything thoroughly (usually multiple times for my benefit) and has called and come back to check on everything a couple times since the installation. He's really gone above and beyond. We have 1-pipe steam radiators and he understands the intricacy of steam quite well. Ray also did all the plumbing when we had our kitchen renovated. He was our contractor's choice for a plumber (which is how we found Ray) which gave him that extra credibility knowing other professionals use his services. I would not hesitate to use Ray again in the future and recommend him to everyone."

"It went fine. Gary replaced a thermocouple, checked pressures, and test-fired up the boiler.  The charge was for $15 for the replacement part, and $95 for labor. <br /> My residence was built in 1971, and I have lived here since 1976.  The heating system was then a 4-zone gas-fired hot water system. It operated with a single pump with 4 Taco zone valves, each of which was controlled by a separate thermostat.  The system had the useful advantage of being able to provide heat without using electricity if the power went out. (You simply released the zone valves, and pushed a manual-automatic control on the aquastat to "manual" , and a thermopile would flame up the gas jets. Yiou now had gravity heat (but not thermostatically controlled).  It would take time to distribute the heat, but it would work until you set the control to "automatic."  <br /> Toward the end of its service life, it became apparent that the system needed replacing. While my records do not go back that far, it was likely in 2005 that Gary Brown replaced the system.  The newer unit had 4 smaller and separate pumps without the need for zone valves.  Gary's installation was much neater, and has performed well ever since.  (Gary explained that it needed to have an electric power supply to operate, as units that operated without power were no longer being made. Indeed, when we replaced the stove in a kitchen re-do, the oven also required electricity to function. But we don't lose power often, but if we did, I acquired a generator to meet the need.)  I think that replacement cost was about $5000, which I considered reasonable. <br /> I recite this because I have used other plumbers before with somewhat less satisfaction. A neighbor recommended B&W as being a capable and reliable plumber, and I have done so approximately for about 15 years, with great satisfaction.  When the main bathroom started disintegrating in perhaps 2006, he, along with others who provided capentry and electrical services remodelled the bathroom with great skill. <br /> Gary is both capable and reliable and  I can recommend him to any one who wants quality work. He never sold me anything I didn't want or need.  I regard his work as fairly priced. <br />"

"The plumber (Steve) arrived within the stated time frame, called from the driveway to announce his arrival, and was extremely courteous. He was neat and organized, and took pains to protect the floors from a mess. He explained his approach to troubleshooting, and based on the age of the plumbing, came-up with cost-effective solutions. He made additional adjustments (such as securing a toilet to the floor and tweaking the tank fill levels) to improve the performance of the fixtures. Additionally, he worked very quickly and was prepared with all the necessary parts on his truck. All 3 toilets are now in good running order."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Attleboro Falls, MA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
