"There was a problem with the coil on the both units. I was covered on the warranty but I had to pay $1000 each to replace them. Their customer service was good but I am not recommending them now."

"We learned that our air conditioner was completely fried, and we were counseled well about the necessity of buying a new one instead of repairing the old one, due to new laws concerning the refrigerant's make-up. I was very pleased with how knowledgeable and honest the technician was. He could have done the repairs for $2000+, but if we needed work in the future, nobody would be able to fix it, so we're very happy that we hired someone who is going to give us all the facts up-front. All we ended up paying was the diagnostic fee, which was very reasonable, considering the service we received."

"Probably could not have went better.  Sales rep came out a few days after I called.  I showed him everything and he counted all the supply and return registers along with the square footage to size the new unit.  He quoted me two systems, an Amana 13 seer and an Amana 16 seer.  The Amana was recommended because I have a Goodman furnace and Goodman now owns Amana.  He specifically said they like to sell systems that are on the same level because they tend to work better.  I appreciated the fact that they didn't try to upsell a higher system like a Trane or Lennox just to make more money.  The quote was pretty good but I decided to think about it.  The next day I talked to the rep and told him I decided to go with them.
The day before the install someone came out to measure everything.  Took about 30-45 minutes.  On install day I left the door open in the morning when I left.  I got out of work early and made it home when they were finishing up the installation. Met the 2 installers and talked to them a bit.  Very friendly, professional, and courteous.  We were talking about an air duct that doesn't blow quite as hard as the rest and they looked at it, identified a leak, and sealed it.  There was no paint behind the old thermostat so they installed a cover plate behind the new one to clean it up.  They put rocks down around the condenser and put in the new concrete pad.  Sealed the penetration where the refrigerant lines enter the house.  They also did a fantastic job with the new return drop.  Every question I had they answered no problem.  They even gave me a box of Rosalind candy!
Awesome company, awesome experience, and they will be the only HVAC company I will use from now on.  All four people that were at my house were very friendly and professional.  Not once did I feel pressured about anything.  Their reputation in Beaver County as the best is well deserved and I highly recommend them to anyone.

"Having negative thoughts now. Thought I'd pay $75 X 2 or $150.00 to install two fans. I had to buy the fans. $100 X 2 or $200.00. Now up to $350.00. I'm happy with that. However, it was recommended that I needed stronger ceiling electrical boxes in ceiling. Mine were plastic and were only supported on one side of ceiling joists. Sounded OK. Work now involved going into attic, taking out old electrical boxes, and replacing with metal boxes that were supported between two joists instead of one. That work, based on standard prices I was told, was $675.82. My hoped for $350.00 fan installs now became $1,025.82 for me. I OK'd the work so my bad, but the $675.82 extra cost seems exorbitant . Of course, I don't deal with that line of work, so maybe it's proper. I just have a bad taste about the whole thing. Buyer's Resmorse perhaps. Oh, both fans work pretty good, although one is not quite flush with the ceiling. I cannot get photo's from phone to this review."

"Outstanding. Upon purchasing the house in the winter and moving in I discovered that the old boiler pipes were corroded. I noticed some small leaks and put central HVAC on "the list". But, before I got to it one of them burst and poured water into the basement. Gary came over at 11pm on a Sunday and made temporary repairs to stop the water and restore heating -- important on a 17-degree night in January. His team then designed a fully thermostat controlled zoned central HVAC system around a newly installed boiler (prior owners had just put it in) but without radiators (hydronic air handlers) -- in doing so, they got the project within my budget to be able to get it done. When a neighbor had noise concerns w.r.t. AC compressors, they worked with us until coming up with a solution that made everyone happy. Years later when I wanted to turn a "3 season room" into a "4 season room", I bought a mini-split on the Web. It cooled well -- but had lousy controls and couldn't keep a constant temperature in the winter. After wrestling with it for two years, I gave up and called Gary for help. He came out, did some heat load calculations, and sized an LG unit for the space. He installed it shortly thereafter -- and it worked perfectly year-round. I like DYI -- but in this case knowing the nuances of the space, exposure, equipment features, and which manufacturers to trust made all the difference in the world. When I decided to partially finish the basement and needed some duct work moved, Graverner did it. The price was barely more than a couple of hours of labor. They reused many of the old pieces, making small adjustments and connectors efficiently on-site, to save money. After a bad thunderstorm the minisplit unit died. I can't say whether it was the storm or bad luck. Gravener came out and replaced it for free under warranty. Yep. replaced it. They also came out and did (sometimes) annual maintenance on the system, e.g. checked refrigerant levels, etc for me."

"Jim was very helpful and personable to work with.  I had recently moved to the Huntsville area and was unable to connect my wireless printer.   There were also some things going on with my laptop that made me suspect a virus had somehow gotten on to it, it was running more slowly than usual, and I wasn't happy with the Win7 configuration I had done when I bought the computer.  Jim came in and assessed the problems and we agreed on a time for him to take the laptop and reinstall the OS.  He was able to get the wireless connection to work as well.  He took the computer on a Friday evening and returned it Sunday evening in prime condition.
A few weeks later I  got an error message while reinstalling my accounting software so I called Jim.  He talked me through the problem over the phone and I was able to get the program installed so I could use the program.
Jim is great to work with, his pricing is very fair, he is prompt and reliable.  I will definitely use his services again.

FAQs for swamp cooler installation and replacement projects in Bairdford, PA

Swamp coolers are quite energy-efficient, using only 15% to 35% of the electricity that traditional central air conditioning units consume. This can lead to significant savings on your energy bills. However, keep in mind that swamp coolers require water to operate and may not cool your home as effectively in extremely hot or humid conditions. When considering overall efficiency, it is essential to weigh both electricity and water usage, as well as the cooling needs specific to your local climate.

Evaporative coolers only work in dry climates because they cool by moistening the air. If the air is already moist, this will have little to no cooling effect. Central AC is a better choice if you live in a humid climate, such as the Midwest, eastern, or western coastal regions.

To install a swamp cooler on a roof, a local HVAC specialist will first find and cut a spot free of wiring and obstructions. They’ll then install metal bracing, legs, brackets, the ceiling duct register, ductwork, power, and thermostat wires. Once installed, they’ll seal all openings, attach duct connections, and install a thermostat. Before leaving, they’ll run cool water piping to the unit and inspect all the connections.

The cost to repair your swamp cooler ranges from $50 to $600, depending on the issue, whether new parts are needed, and the chosen repair service. Depending on the type of pad your system uses, you will need to change out the pads every one to three years for proper operation. When budgeting for the cost to repair a window unit, expect to pay around $230.

The U.S. Department of Energy states that swamp coolers can cool a single room by five to 15 degrees Fahrenheit. However, this largely depends on the size and installation method of the evaporative cooler. You can only achieve these results in a dry climate, such as the American South, as it’s easier to cool rooms in humid environments with central air.

Swamp cooler water usage varies depending on the size of the unit. Smaller evaporative units may use one gallon per hour, while much larger units could use up to 15 gallons of water per hour. Most homeowners can expect their unit to use between seven and 10 gallons of water per hour of usage.
