They installed handles to our kitchen cabinets, installed a range vent, a toilet bowel and medicine cabinet within 3 1/2 hours. Not only that, they cleaned up and discarded the old items. "My first impression of Mark was that he was just a downright nice guy. I had two contractors out before him and already had some estimates. What I appreciated about Mark was that he was a nice guy, but still able to be straight-forward about numbers and talk realistically about what needed done. This meant he could say what needed said, but he was still great talk work with. In fact, he gave me a higher number than my previous contractors -- but I truly believed him when he mentioned several things the other contractors missed in their estimates, and I would ultimately pay for anyway. Mark was just giving me the real cost upfront -- instead of nickel and diming me. In fact, he made it a point to try and avoid coming back with incremental increases -- even though I know he ran in to things that were unexpected. He kept to his estimate. As the project went along, some things did change but each step of the way he always made the right decision. For example, when he removed the drop ceiling in the kitchen to repair what we thought was as small area of falling ceiling -- he discovered it was much worse than he thought and he couldn't possibly do that much work considering that it was easily 3x more than it looked like it would be when we first took a peek at it. So instead, Mark made up for it in other ways. For example, one of the doors upstairs to the bathroom was an odd size. He could have taken a shortcut and put a door on it that worked -- but it would have opened in to the hallway...which would have been awkward. Instead, he built a custom edge to the door frame and made the door open in to the bathroom. This made the door look great and avoided an awkward-looking doorway. Mark often did things that made it obvious he intended to work on things to get a result he would be happy with, basically making sure that whatever he finished was something he would be happy with as if it were his own house. Many of the final touches were things I didn't even ask for -- he just 'did it' because he knew it was a minor thing but made a major impression. For instance, he painted all of the air vents and even washed the siding on the front porch. The entire project was finished in an impressive amount of time -- it was only a few days longer than he estimated, and it surprised me that he was able to do so. He was able to lead the entire job, doing most of the work himself and only bringing in folks when it made sense -- but overseeing the work quality. I can't overstate how happy and fortunate I was to find Mark. He's a stand-up guy, and straight-forward when it comes to talking through business in a way that makes it easy for you both to decide what will and won't work in terms of numbers, timing and scope of the effort. I found Mark through Angie's list and didn't know him before this. The fact that I found a negative review among so many positive reviews is something I actually appreciated. Because it gave me a chance to read his response to the negative review -- and I told him so. It's easy to be nice when things are going well, but if you read his response he was still able to keep his helpful and respectful demeanor. I thought that was a real sign of true character and based on my experience -- I was right. I highly recommend Mark for your consideration if you want someone who will be respectful, forthcoming and does incredible work. His extensive experience is obvious in his work and he's the first guy I am calling for my next investment property."

"The whole process was detailed and well done. This was in a new home construction and Curt took the time to make sure the vision I had was brought to life. He custom designed the medicine cabinet in the master bathroom. Had our countertops and vanities set at the height we requested. The only issue I had was some lack of communication to let me know when there were issues getting the one bathroom vanity and letting me know timing of when someone would be coming to do the installations. Other then that the we overall are pleased with the work done."

"I highly recommend Roca Construction.  Mr. Roca showed up with his team ? on time and ready to work. 

He carefully sealed off the room from the rest of the house to minimize dust in my home and began demolition.  The thorough clean up after the demo by his crew was much appreciated.  Then the room was fully insulated.  They even uncovered a channel that went al the way up to the second floor between the walls that had never had insulation before. Mr. Roca suggested that they build in a box to contain the insulation and properly insulate the upper floor room.  This to an extra day and he did it at a fair and very small increase to the bill. I am sure that the savings to our gas bill will make up for the small increase in price. The new second floor certainly made the  second floor room much warmer immediately. They insulated the room they were renovating very thoroughly - cleverly reusing some of the insulation that had been there before. 

Then they framed in a new subfloor and replaced sheetrock where it needed replacing. They installed a new wooden floor ? thinking through how the longest pieces of wood should be used.  They also framed in a new ceiling replacing the ugly plywood fake beadboard with beautiful real beadboard - which comes in 2-board slats. It is a lot of work to install this material. Then the entire room was primed and painted.  Using window trim that we specially ordered from a lumber yard - milled to match the other trim in our house, they did a perfect job mitering the corners. They also, installed cove molding - which was constructed from three different cove molding pieces (complicated) as to match the historic cove molding. Then the  final painting was completed.

Mr. Roca is an excellent contractor. His team is professional, highly skilled, responsive, careful, and neat.  They are real perfectionist. The mitered corners were skillfully completed. The floor and ceiling beautiful and level, and the paint job was perfect.  The sidewalk and apron paving was also perfect ? so well done that five of our neighbors hired Roca to re-do their sidewalks too. Now we have a whole block of beautiful sidewalks. 
 
Mr. Roca's team are friendly and quiet. They cleaned up the job site each evening.  They have a good work ethic and show up on time. They did not rush the work and as a result  their work product was excellent too.  The job took about 3 weeks. 

We are very picky about renovations on our historic home. We have fired more than one contractor over the years. My husband is an amateur woodworker - he is very picky about work on the house. We were both delighted with the quality of Roca's work.  I recommend Roca Construction without any hesitation. We will definitely be hiring them again for future projects."

"I liked Chris immediately, however, the price he quoted was over my budget and did not include upgrading my 1st floor lineloeum.   I did get other estimates that were much more reasonable and included removing my 1st floor linoleum and replacing it with an ugrade.  Additionally, other estimates included painting more areas of the house than what Chris offered. 
Additionally, it seemed as if Chris was tremdously busy, and I respect that... But, I had to contact him (2 weeks) to ask for an estimate.  He did bring in a Paint specialist free of charge to discuss the type of paint I should be using.  When talking to the paint specialist I pinpointed to the detail exactly what I wanted to be performed in the house.   When I called Chris the second time a week after, he did not seem to know anything about my discussion with the Sherwin Williams paint specialist.
Chris seemed to be genuinely concerned about me and I am sure he would have done an outstanding job.  It's just that I needed to stay within my budget and also wanted my first floor to be upgraded.
