"I recently had a fantastic experience with Nick from DB’s Plumbing & Drain for a leaking pipe issue in my home. From start to finish, their service was exceptional! DB’s team was prompt, courteous, and professional. They arrived on time, assessed the problem quickly, and explained the repair process in a way that was easy to understand. The plumber worked efficiently, fixing the leak with high-quality materials, and even took the time to check for other potential issues to prevent future problems. The pricing was fair, and there were no hidden fees. I am so grateful for their expertise and attention to detail. I highly recommend DB’s to anyone needing reliable plumbing services!"

"Initial rep was great and informative. Felt comfortable with initial sale. Hardly had any contact from customer service except for the payments. There were several delays that we were not informed about unless we called to ask. Took 7 months before they showed up to begin project. Only 1 person was sent to build steps. Took a week. Hard worked, hardly took a break. Had to call again to see when they would come to pour patio. Never knew when they were coming, they just showed up. Hardly spoke with the homeowners. Inspection paperwork was just left on porch. Additional paperwork that is "required by the County" had to be completed by homeowner and taken to Court house to be notarized and filed and also provide a copy back to Long Fence. Time sensitive materials which added to homeowners to-do list. Gave this contract to LF on the surface of their history and appearance of a 'good local company' but should have stayed with original contactors in VA. Puddle of water forms when it rains"

For over 35 years, American Home Contractors has provided exterior household services and upgrades across Maryland, Washington DC, and Northern Virginia. American Home takes great pride in ensuring customer satisfaction and commits to delivering the highest quality of work when renovating any home.

"Signed contract for AHC to install exterior trim around my home and replace soffit vents. Costs were proposed for the trim wrapping and we informed AHC that we would also want to address the ventilation through soffits around the home. Initially we discussed adding vinyl to soffits, but were unsure of best options. We had then decided against moving forward with the project until we could conduct more research of the best options. AHC informed us that with the trim work they could also replace the damaged vents in the soffit. AHC said that the owner of the company had agreed to add this service for us as we had recently completed another project for the replacement of gutters. Upon the crew coming out to start work we informed them that the scope of project included the installation of exterior trim and replacement of vents. The crew said they had no information on replacing any vents and told us to call their office for clarification. I called AHC, and was informed that the crew could not replace the vents, but asked if they could repair damages noted. While we were not happy that the scope of work had changed, we agreed to have them repair and not replace the vents. However, after the project was completed we noticed that no work had been performed to repair any vents. We called and emailed AHC multiple times over a 2 month period to have them make adjustments to noted problems with trim and repair vents. We could not get anyone to give us an update on when the crew would come back out to address the trim and vents issues noted. AHC only sent a person out to fix gutters that had not been properly reinstalled and causing heavy flooding in backyard and to fix one item on the list of items for the trim. Again we compromised, and then decided to only focus on the vent repair. Many months went by before we received an email regarding a final invoice; and the company not being able to repair or replace the vents. Discounts were offered to accomodate us regarding the matter. We had no idea on how much it would cost to have a contractor come out to only fix vents, as opposed to adding to an existing job where cost could be different because the contractor is already onsite working other jobs on the home such as the install of trim. While continuing to work on getting additional quotes to have some other contractor fix the vents. AHC changed their minds and said they would not provide any discount. So basically, the initial job was to replace vents, then changed to repair vents, then changed to provide discount, then changed to we cannot help you. This is really bad customer service and we would have never agreed to have them take on the project as they clearly understand that we wanted both the soffit vents and exterior trim addressed at the same time. As we have gutters with guards and the work would require removing gutters to get to soffit, so we thought it was best to address both of these items at the same time. Agreeing to terms of a contract with the idea that you will not provide the services agreed upon is bad business. Also, we are not happy with the number of hours I have had to dedicate to trying to resolve this issue with AHC. We have used Angie's list for almost 10 years and never encountered this type of situation with one of your contractors. We only selected this company because they were listed as an Angie's List company."

M.E. Flow, Inc. has been providing exceptional heating, cooling, and plumbing services to residents of northern Virginia since 1951. We are family-owned and operated, and currently in our third generation. We are a team of professionals who are licensed to ensure compliance with the laws and codes of the state of Virginia. With office locations in Leesburg, Winchester, and Alexandria, there’s always a ME Flow team member nearby to serve you quickly. What’s unique about M.E. Flow is that the entire company adopts the original family tradition of our "customer first" philosophy in order to provide the best service possible. This foundation is what sets us apart from other contractors. We have many long-term customers who continue to choose ME Flow because of our honor and integrity. We get to know our customers on a first-name basis and check in on this community that we love so much. We promise that we will never sell you anything you don't need - serving your best interest is our policy. We will always treat your home like it's our own - with respect. Offering weekend service at weekday rates! Emergency service available 7 days a week! If you are looking to get away from burning oil, we do offer an in home consultation to help you choose a new HVAC system.

"An M.E. Flow tech came to the house we own in Virginia to do the plumbing inspection covered by our maintenance agreement with the company. Our tenant had noted that a toilet was leaking, so the repair that was made appeared to be warranted; but $174 was, I thought, pretty exorbitant, since the tech was already there and it was a simple repair. But M.E. Flow has ADAMANTLY refused to provide me with a breakdown of what I was charged for: I sent an e-mail (8 May), called the company (20 May - the person I talked to said she would have a breakdown sent), and wrote a letter (22 Jun) asking: with NO response. I consider this clear deceit and deception. How much was the part; was I charged the full rate as if it were a completely separate visit? Don't know, and I SHOULD. I would NEVER deal with this company. They also did a minor repair to our HVAC system on a different visit, and again: no details (cost of the part, labor charge) for the $177 charge. They clearly have NO intention of being upfront with their customers, so: buyer beware, you're not dealing with people who care about their customers. One other note: Just found out where we live that some HVAC/plumbing companies have their service people working ON COMMISSION. Isn't that depressing. We have to worry now about being "uphold" so the tech can get a higher commission. They have a very vested interest in trying to sell their customers as much as they can. Don't know if M.E. Flow does that, but worth asking if you even think about using them Might account for the rating given by the customer below this review.."

FAQs for sewer main install, replace or repair projects in Boyce, VA

When installing a sewer line, you should consider extra costs like tree removal, driveway repairs, or patio resurfacing. Hiring a professional plumber is essential, and you may need additional specialists if landscaping or heavy excavation is involved. Addressing these potential extras up front helps ensure accurate budgeting and prevents sudden cost overruns.

To calculate the length of sewer piping you need, measure the distance from your house to the main sewer line, adding the depth of the city main to this distance. Be sure to account for any obstacles like tree roots or utility lines that may require additional piping.

City sewer lines are installed at a lower elevation to prevent unwanted backflow and water damage. This lower positioning ensures enhanced performance and long-term safety, meeting all technical and safety standards.

With trenchless methods, a plumber inserts a smaller pipe within the existing plumbing, avoiding full excavation. It can be more cost-effective and less disruptive than traditional methods, but it's not suitable for all homes.

Yes, you must secure permission from your local water authority before connecting to a public sewer line. This approval ensures your connection meets all regulatory requirements.

Sewer lines are buried between 18 inches and 8 feet deep, with most systems placed between 18 and 30 inches. In colder regions, pipes are set deeper to remain below the frost line.
