"Rick, owner, was excellent to work with. He installed a new double-oven to replace an old separate microwave and oven. This required modifying the existing cabinets, building a new taller pull-out drawer, and color-matching the existing stained/varnished cabinets. The quality of the new drawer was excellent, matched color (despite the previous color no longer being sold in stores), and installed the new oven (delivered previously by a separate vendor). He came a week prior to install to take measurements, check that our electrical was sufficient to handle the new oven combo, and built the new drawer off site during that following week. This made install quick and easy the following week. Rick was kind, easy to work with, worked around our difficult work schedules, and did really excellent work. I would not hesitate to hire him again and highly recommend him."

"I spoke initially with 5 landscapers.  Bret was competitive - and more than that - we had a chemistry. He loves being creative - however the difference was  - he LISTENED to me.  Yes, he made suggestions along the way - but he never pushed nor insisted that I do anything a certain way.  He truly understands CUSTOMER SERVICE.  He listened, he followed through, always punctual, always cleaned up, and along the way we discussed new, creative things to do.  What I appreciated most: he never made me "wrong".  He gave me a professional opinion, but if I wanted to go in another direction he was fine, never argued, etc.  We needed to put in landscaping that was MORE than deer resistant (I found out from neighbors that the deer here eat EVERYTHING that's deer resistant), so I did my homework and we did not use the plants he initally recommended - I didn't want to take a chance.  I wanted low maintenance with a simple/Asian feel - he created a riverbed in the front with boulders that we picked out together that is beautiful. His workers worked long hours & did a beautiful job. I was going to use a fountain company, but in the end I trusted him so much that I asked him to build me a fountain - and it was cheaper & bigger than the estimate I got from the company - and again the boulders he chose have a pinkish hue that complement the pavers & stamped concrete in the screened in porch.  I LOVE MY SANCTUARY.  This guy is a GEM and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND him!!!!!   He's creative, artistic, has rich taste, LISTENS, guides, and satisfied his customers!!!!! <br />"

"From the outset, I want it to be clear that this review Floors for Living in Sugar Land, TX is from the perspective of an obsessive perfectionist who concentrates on the smallest detail. When I decided to FINALLY replace our 27 year old linoleum kitchen floor with porcelain tile, I began reviewing newspaper advertisements and angieslist.com in order to choose the best option for the task. Based upon my research, I chose to work with Roland Lejeune at the Floors for Living location at 3709 Highway 6 South, Sugar Land, TX 77478. I found Roland to be very professional, knowledgeable, helpful, honest, sincere, and accommodating. He answered all my questions and was very patient in all aspects of our interactions. He went out of his way to ensure that the project would be completed within the short timeframe I had specified (which it was, with plenty of time to spare). Roland estimated that it would take anywhere from 3 to 5 days to complete the project. I would rate Roland Lejeune as an excellent professional to work with. Two tile installers arrived at our home early in the morning on 03/06/2018, as expected. One spoke and understood English. As Roland had suggested, I had purchased a large roll (9’ x 400’) Painter’s Plastic and a roll of ScotchBlue Painter’s tape in order to have the installers cover our kitchen cabinets and appliances, as well as the doorways and wall openings, to prevent the fine dust generated from tearing out the old linoleum from getting all over everything in our kitchen and throughout our house. The experienced installer indicated that Roland was incorrect and that there would be very little dust, so there was no need to cover anything, so he didn’t. I also mentioned about the project taking 3-4 days, and he told me that they would be done in 1.5 to 2 days. He tried to assure me that he had been doing this type of work for 10 years and that he knew what he was doing better than the salesman. As they got going, they seemed like they knew what they were doing and seemed very professional. During the first day, they tore out and removed the old linoleum and laid out the new porcelain tile. I could see that there was indeed a layer of fine white dust all over everything and linoleum chips and debris on our kitchen cabinets, appliances, and carpeting at the two entryways into our kitchen. The installer said he would take care of it when they finished. When they left, they said they would come back early the next morning and complete the project by noon. The next day, as promised, the workers arrived early in the morning, except it was only one guy from the day before (the one who did not speak English) and 3 other men who did not speak English (Roland said there would always be at least one guy who spoke English). They worked quickly and efficiently and did a pretty nice job overall. One of the men handed me a paper, which I guessed I was supposed to sign, which I did. There were things I wanted to discuss with them, but no one spoke English, so they left. I just figured to myself that I would address any matters that concerned me with Floors for Living after the fact. In summary, Roland Lejeune was great – very professional, helpful, and easy to work with. The installers overall did a pretty good job. The porcelain tile in the kitchen looks very nice. They did everything very quickly – maybe too quickly. I am quite upset that they did not cover our kitchen cabinets and appliances, as well as the doorways and wall openings, to prevent the fine dust generated from tearing out the old linoleum from getting all over everything in our kitchen and throughout our house. I am also upset that they did not clean the dust and debris better when they finished as the English speaker had promised the first day (he was not there the second day to fulfill his promise). They also chipped off a piece of the left door frame molding near the floor when they removed our utility room doors (a two-sided French-style folding doors arrangement), which only upsets me because they didn’t say anything, letting me find out on my own. I also discovered that they mis-hung the left folding door as it is now quite wobbly and falls easily out of its track. Concerning the moulding that was placed around the outer edge of the flooring once it was completed, it was not cut, fitted together, and nailed in an even and attractive manner. I also found out about 5 hours after they left in a hurry that they had left the outside faucet to the hose on, which would not be a problem except the faucet leaks. All in all, based upon Roland and the actual kitchen tile flooring that we have now, I would probably utilize the services of Floors for Living again. I would also recommend their services to a friend. I would just try to be much more diligent in having the installers be less in a hurry to finish and more careful in doing their tasks the right way."
