Small jobs welcome

"He came out an hour late, which I understand it was probably a busy day for them, and fixed 2 of the 3 pipe leaks. We went back down to put insulation on the pipes and noticed that he missed the third pipe that was leaking. We called them back and they came back out and left again without fixing the pipe. We then called again telling them about the pipe and they said they would come out the following morning. They never came out and when asked they said they couldn't. They did a great job fixing most of our leaks, but I do not think I would call them again."

"Called due to a recurring issue with our sink we've been dealing with for over a year, with another plumbing service wanting to charge over $1k just to use a camera. Preston came in on a Sunday, at around 6pm, during the Winter storm, and figured out what the problem was in about 15 minutes. He then offered to get it fixed same day, and in less than 2 hours the sink was better than new. The price was way lower than expected, too, about a quarter of what the original company wanted just for looking around. Extremely nice guy on top of it all. Would use again, no questions asked."

"I had previously scheduled the thermostat installation along with a preventive maintenance check. The day before they were to come, the heating system was not working properly with the inside temp dropping to 57 while it was zero outside. I called and asked for service. Even though I was a brand new customer, someone was here very quickly. He found an issue with the computer panel that at first glance seemed to indicate a new panel would be needed. He rewired some things so I'd get heat from the auxiliary heat while the part was ordered. But when a different tech came the next day to install the thermostats as scheduled, he too checked the system and had more time to go over things since the first tech had 20 more calls from those without heat in the historic cold spell. Anyway, he found the auxiliary heat system had been wired correctly, probably from the time it was installed from the time the house was built in 2006. The auxiliary heat had NEVER come on automatically as it should! He found with the help of phone support from the manufacturer that there were two wiring issues to and inside the panel. Now things work great, and the heat pump doesn't have to work so hard to try to get to temp when it's very cold outside. The second tech only charged me for the thermostat installation and not for the time spent diagnosing the auxiliary heat issue since I had paid for that the day before. I signed up with the first tech for yearly maintenance service since he came quickly when I needed help. The company also followed up with me after the work was completed. I highly recommend the company for its professionalism and promptness and thoroughness of work. <br />"

"Johnson City Heating and Air is fantastic! They worked with my contractor and created a laundry chute that traverses three floors and is secured in a piece of antique furniture. They did a fantastic job, were very aware of working inside the house and left things as clean as when they arrived. I was very impressed when I observed Ed remove his shoes before walking on my carpet. They also installed two "Air Oasis" in duct air purifiers into my HVAC. This air purifier is the real deal! I can tell a great difference in the air inside the house. The wife and I both feel much better since the installation of the air purifiers. I WILL use Johnson City Heating and Air for all of my HVAC needs."

"It took weeks to get an appointment. They did come when the appointment was set up. Found some problems with the gas insert and they promised follow up. After a month, I’ve tried to contact them twice and gotten no response so we are moving on to another company. This is warm weather so it’s good to know now we can’t count on this company."

"I called and spoke to Brian Lloyd. I have a 100 year-old home and was concerned about how our breakers flip off when running appliances, and about how too much of the house ran off what seemed to be one circuit. I wanted the house gone over to see what should be done to make it safe, and I also needed more outlets, and many old wall heaters removed (one in every room). So phase I was to inspect and to make some safety corrections. Lloyd's grounded our wiring at the box and put labels in because ours were labeled all wrong. They traced out each wall heater thru the house and disconnected at the panel. They disconnected an old range feed that we don't use. They cleaned up old wire not being used in the basement. They also removed the old hot water heater feed and used one of the wall heater feeds to feed to the water heater instead. That cost around $760 total. Phase II was in the early summer, a very busy time for them, I think. It took a while to get this part scheduled--a matter of weeks, but this was a pretty big job. Brian had said he could transform the old wall heaters connectors into the extra electrical outlets I needed so we had new outlets in each room. Plus they added extras in my daughter's room, the bathroom and my bedroom per our request. They added a dedicated receptacle for the dishwasher in the kitchen as well. Also, I was opening up the back porch to use as a laundry and needed a receptacle for the washer added there. We also had an old eyesore of a wired-in light over the sink removed. I bought my own light to replace it.. So we had pretty extensive work done. That part took up most of a day and ended up costing me around $1,400 after a discount. Brian Lloyd came in at the beginning to talk to me again and to set up a plan, and then supervised everything to make sure it was done right. He was so conscientious and just really understanding and so very careful to make sure this old house was finally safe. A good man and a good company. I never want to use another electrical company."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Bristol, TN

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
