"The secretary met with a City Inspector concerning a project we was working on and bad mouthed us to that official and caused all kinds of issues for us. She assumed she knew things that were incorrect and talked negative about us to that inspector. I know what was said because after I had heard from the City I went in and asked her what she said. We had worked with them for the last 6 years, will never work with them again. Very Very Unprofessional"

"Gave an estimate for an 8 hour job. He showed up late. Took a 2 hour lunch. Only had 4 hours of work. Originally told me walling would be put back, it wasn't, and included all materials in estimate. Told me it would be completely cleaned up. He failed to show up for the test run. Someone else was sent 5 days later. The second issue was not repaired had to call a second company to complete. The bill was just a copy of the estimate. I called and emailed repeatedly for 6 months and they never responded and said that the 8 hour and material charge was my bill. They do not want to charge a fair amount and the overestimate is their bill. No good."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Casper, WY

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
