He said he could hear some water running so we went out and opened the crawl space and sure enough there was a water leak. he went and got the materials that he needed to resolve the leak, fixed the leak. "I found out my water heater was leaking the night before. I noticed water coming from my laundry room had made a puddle of water into the adjacent office space. I decided to wait till next morning because I knew emergency calls can be very expensive. Next morning I started calling around for someone to come out and look at it but was finding it very difficult to find someone to come out same day. I called 3 or 4 different places and they were all not available or Did not call me back. The only company that responded to me within the hour was JM Plumbing. They were also the only company that were willing to come out same day and gave me an awesome price that beat all competitors by far. The owner agreed to come out to do the work at end of day after his last job, he arrived on time with an assistant. Was very professional, friendly, fast and did an excellent job. Total time installing was about about an hour to hour and a half. He went to buy a new water heater and new hose to replace my old one, gave me all receipts and warranty paperwork . I am very satisfied with the work he did, the heater is working beautifully and I am very pleased with the job done by JM Plumbing. I highly recommend them over anyone in olympia, they do an awesome job for an awesome price!"

"Everything went extremely well.  I had already gotten estimates from 3 other vendors when an acquaintance who had work done previously by Energy Star talked me into getting an estimate from them before having the work done.
I was impressed right off the bat by Mike's demeanor.  There was no high pressure tactics or bad mouthing of competitors, as others had been guilty of.  He explained what would be involved and how much it would cost.  I mentioned the size of the unit that the others had planned to install.  Mike did some figuring and said that a 2.5 ton unit would work better than the 2 ton unit the others had planned on installing.  His bid included the permit fees and taxes, while the others had only given me estimates that said "Plus taxes and permit costs".  I appreciated that.  Mike's bid was the lowest of the 4, even with the bigger equipment.  
The crew showed up promptly on the day scheduled.  They were extremely polite and went out of their way to keep me informed as they did their work.  Before they left they sat down with me and programmed the computer controlled thermostat, made sure that I knew how to make any changes to the programming that I might need to, and that I knew the difference between operating a heat pump and operating a conventional furnace.  While studying up on heat pumps subsequent to the install I found out that many customers throughout the country have been given wrong information about using the "Em" setting on the thermostat.  Apparently the technicians at a lot of companies are unsure of the concept. These guys from Energy Star were right on and explained it to me correctly.  
I had been a little apprehensive going into the whole idea of switching to a heat pump but after the install was all done. I am quite happy though I went ahead with it.  I have nothing but good words to say about Mike and the folks at Energy Star and would recommend them highly.

"My 20 year old furnace died on a cold Thursday evening and I got online to find a company to replace it. After entering my contact info, I immediately received a text message from the company's owner, Casey, making himself available for me if I wanted to talk by phone. I had him call me, and he checked in to see what the problem was, what I wanted to do, and to be sure I had heat for the evening. He even offered to drive space heaters to my home if needed, even though he was at least 45 minutes away. He then scheduled to meet with me at my convenience the next day to look at my home and discuss options. During the meeting, Casey was very personable, knowledgeable,and professional about the products and services his company offered and helped me design a heating/air conditioning system to replace my old, inefficient furnace and wall a/c and insulate existing ducts. He also referred me to my utility company to see if rebates were available, which there were. The workers who installed the products were pleasant, professional, and skilled and ensured that their work met the city's requirements so that I was eligible for the rebate. I am very happy with the products and services I received from them and would recommend them to anyone having problems with their heating/air conditioning units or looking to upgrade to more efficient systems.

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"I had a hard time finding anyone to bid this project from Angie's List. Contacted several people who never responded or made appointments and never showed. All had A ratings? Out of three who actually showed up. Two provided bids. Harry from About Time was the higher of the two but I felt he understood the challanges of working on an older building. Project took longer than expected to complete however I am happy with end result. Harry has good communication and addressed all all of my concerns. In the end he made sure I was satisfied before closing out the project."
