"We had such a great experience with NETR. Everyone we met on the day of install were very polite, wore booties and cleaned up their work area so we didn't even know they were in your house working. The quality is beyond our expectations and we are now loving our new system especially on the warm days during unpredictable New England weather. The units are easy to use and we are comfortable within minutes! The process was very easy starting with the customer service representatives we spoke to, Victoria's knowledge and Chip’s expertise, go above and beyond what we were expecting. Everyone was great to work with, Ivan, Isaac, Tim and Jeff, we're on site. They were busy but were available and knowledgeable when we asked a few questions. I would highly recommend NETR."

"We needed our boiler replaced and had multiple companies come and look at the job. We ended up selecting Sila as we read good reviews on the company. Sila surpassed our expectations. The tech who performed the install (Gage) was on time, communicated the entire process to us from start to finish and did a tremendous job. He also made sure to clean up afterwards and was very professional. We would absolutely hire Sila again!"

"Our insurance company demanded without any prior notice that we immediately do a ton of work on the house -- removing vegetation on a garage roof, fixing cracks in the cement steps, replacing a baluster, etc. -- and that we do it immediately. Gerardo and his crew were fast, innovative, friendly and thoroughly efficient. We are continuing to use Gerardo for other things. We dropped the insurance company (Commerce). "

"We installed a Fujitsu mini-split A/C and heat pump because installing duct work was not an option. The entire process from getting a quote to completing the installation couldn't have been any better. Joe went over the full scope of the project including the ramifications if any additional work was needed. I don't think one could find a better HVAC company than Airco!"

"We hired 128 to help us update our plumbing in 2019. When we needed HVAC services for our cooling and heating system we were quick to hire 128 again. Most recently we had them out for our annual heating tune up and they provided an option to install a Reme Halo air purifier. I opted to have them install one because it kills germs and viruses in the air (like the common cold and coronavirus) and it also gets rid of smells in the home from cooking and my stinky dog! I love that they provide all home services so I don’t have to search around when I need someone! Would recommend to anyone!"

"We could not have been more pleased. We needed to replace our first floor AC, which is a split-type ductless system, about 17 years old. We had an idea of what the cost would be from an online site: [*** Link removed ***] We got 4 bids, 3 from A rated Angie's List contractors to install a Mitsubishi system (top of the line). Except for one, which was off the charts, the bids weren't that far apart. While Unique was not the lowest bid, we chose them for three reasons: (1) Jason (their rep) was the most savvy about the Mass Save and Mass CEC Air Source rebates, which were quite significant (he handled all the rebate paperwork for us); (2) Unique was able to do the job in a week; and (3) Unique included all the electric work into the total bid (rewiring was required). The installation team (John and Quinn) was excellent. It took them a day and half, They were quiet, neat, professional, highly respectful of our homes and proud of their work. We had worried that they would have to remove wooden ductwork which had been recently painted, but they managed to snake the new hoses through the existing ductwork without disturbing anything. Unique had an electrical contractor on site who replaced the breakers on our electrical panel, installed a higher capacity wire from the panel to the AC system, and replaced the cutoff switch on the outside. We were quite pleased with Unique's work, and would definitely recommend them to others."

FAQs for swamp cooler installation and replacement projects in Chelsea, MA

Swamp coolers are quite energy-efficient, using only 15% to 35% of the electricity that traditional central air conditioning units consume. This can lead to significant savings on your energy bills. However, keep in mind that swamp coolers require water to operate and may not cool your home as effectively in extremely hot or humid conditions. When considering overall efficiency, it is essential to weigh both electricity and water usage, as well as the cooling needs specific to your local climate.

Evaporative coolers only work in dry climates because they cool by moistening the air. If the air is already moist, this will have little to no cooling effect. Central AC is a better choice if you live in a humid climate, such as the Midwest, eastern, or western coastal regions.

To install a swamp cooler on a roof, a local HVAC specialist will first find and cut a spot free of wiring and obstructions. They’ll then install metal bracing, legs, brackets, the ceiling duct register, ductwork, power, and thermostat wires. Once installed, they’ll seal all openings, attach duct connections, and install a thermostat. Before leaving, they’ll run cool water piping to the unit and inspect all the connections.

The cost to repair your swamp cooler ranges from $50 to $600, depending on the issue, whether new parts are needed, and the chosen repair service. Depending on the type of pad your system uses, you will need to change out the pads every one to three years for proper operation. When budgeting for the cost to repair a window unit, expect to pay around $230.

The U.S. Department of Energy states that swamp coolers can cool a single room by five to 15 degrees Fahrenheit. However, this largely depends on the size and installation method of the evaporative cooler. You can only achieve these results in a dry climate, such as the American South, as it’s easier to cool rooms in humid environments with central air.

Swamp cooler water usage varies depending on the size of the unit. Smaller evaporative units may use one gallon per hour, while much larger units could use up to 15 gallons of water per hour. Most homeowners can expect their unit to use between seven and 10 gallons of water per hour of usage.
